Amazing Safari Tour!
5/5

This was a last minute trip for me but it was not difficult at all. They responded in a very timely manner and was able to personalize my schedule and was very accommodating. From the moment that I arrived in JRO Airport, everything was all set up and flawless. I did not have to worry about anything. My tour guide Andrew and chef Moshi were amazing! They were very friendly, informative, fun and very helpful. They made my experience even better and others in the same tour would also agree. Not only were they very well experienced but also prioritized safety as well. Moshi is a great cook and every meal was very delicious that I was looking forward to every meal. Andrew is a very experience guide and he has so much knowledge of the animals and their behaviours that he was always able to get us the best views. They are very passionate with what they do. And on my last day of my stay in Tanzania, tour rep even came to my accommodation to check up on me to make sure everything was great. It was an unbelievable experience and if paired with Andrew and Moshi, I can guarantee it will be the best experience.
I would definitely recommend booking with this tour group!
Thank you guys for amazing trip that I will never forget!
Asante Sana!

professional, well organized and good food
5/5

We booked a tour with Meru Slopes for a 6 day private safari and were more than happy with the time spent. The tour was very well organized from the beginning, our guide Douglas was very helpful and showed us the best places in Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Manyara lake so that we saw much more animals than we expected. He told us a lot about the country and animal behaviour. The meals were cooked by our chef Gidion, which were always delicious and diverse. Booking with Meru Slopes will give you an unforgettable experience and the company takes very good care of their clients and offers fair prices.

Amazing experience
5/5

The safari with Meru Slopes was a great experience. Animals and landscape are stunning!
The five-day tour across Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro left little to be desired. The guide Andrew drove the jeep very safely and calmly through the roads of the Serengeti and was a pleasant guide. He spotted the animals immediately at long distances and told us interesting details about them, but also gave us the necessary peace and quiet to marvel at the natural wonders.
The cook, Moshi, was always in a good mood and prepared delicious food. I missed more traditional Tanzanian food, but "tourist" food is probably part of the activity and important for other tourists.
The tents were in very good condition, the sleeping bag warm and the mattress comfortable. The sanitary facilities were also good and very clean! Electricity in the car did not work, but there were always free sockets in the camp. The transportation back to Arusha worked perfectly and the driver was already waiting for us.
What was missing: Toilet paper, or rather I hadn't thought to bring any with me.

Efficient, Responsive and Helpful
5/5

I completed a 4 day trek to Mount Meru from Arusha. Kelvin Bonith was really helpful, patient and prompt in responding to my queries and suggesting various itineraries. The logistics were organised very efficiently once I got to Arusha, right from the point of briefing me the day before, organising a small trekking group that I could join (as a solo traveller) and then arranging the final drop off back to my hotel after the trek. The trek has been a truly memorable experience and Meru Slopes played a huge role in making it happen!

Amazing Camping Safari
5/5

Meru Slopes Tours took good care of my friend and I when we visited Tanzania. Great communication throughout the entire journey, everything was well organized. The trip was absolutely amazing. The views were beautiful and the animals were so impressive. Mudy our driver did such a great Job. Friendly and helpful all the time. We had the full wildlife experience in the camps, sleeping next to lions and elephants. We really enjoyed these days.

Meru Slopes will always be my choice
5/5

If you dont know which company to choose to do your safari, please read this review and all your doubts will be cleared.
On the first place, you have to know that Geofrey, head of the company, will do his utmost in order to fulfill all your needs. Do not hesitate to ask him about whatever you may need to know cause he will be pleased to answer and give you all the information needed. In my case, due to last minute flight schedules changes, I had to change my whole trip and he gave me the solution right away without any issue. In a few minutes, after only a couple of messages, he had already arranged everythig and postponed my safari one day. He was very responsive and collaborative and I could feel that he was taking care of me and trying to provide the best service in spite of the mishap.
My trip and my experience were in his hands and he mangaed in the best of the ways.

Regarindg the safari, I picked the 6 days (5 nights) choice and it was simply amazing. It is hard for me to find the right words to express what I felt during those days. Nature is amazing and all the spots were really beautiful and we got to see plenty of animals.

I think the most important element when going in a safari is your guide, and we were incredibly lucky having Florian with us. He knows Serengeti like the back of his hand! It is incredible to see him navigating around the place following his experience, his knowledge and his insticts. He makes you feel you are in good hands and safe, and he brought us to the best and coolest spots in the area. In my case, he did all he could to get us to see as many animals as possible. He was very calm, handling in a relaxed way all kinds of situations, providing lots of info about the animals, their behaviour and many curiosities about nature and wildlife. You have to leave books behind and concentrate on what your guide tells you. He knows more than any enciclopedia, so feel free to ask him whatever you want to know during your safari. And of course, without his eyes we couldn't have probably seen anything! Believe me, it is not easy to spot them in the middle of the savannah. His driving was always very good, although the paths in nature are rough. He drove all the time in the most smooth possible way. He is a PROFESSIONAL, with big letters. His kindness and gentleness really got my heart.

Another important element during these kind of adventures is the cook. In my case, Moshi was with us during the whole trip and he made the experience even better. He cooked delicious meals everyday, very varied and yummy. And besides his cooking skills, he made us feel as a team and he did a great work keeping all of us engaged and going in the same direction. He is very enthusiastic and positive and his joy is absolutely contagious. It was a pleasure to share time with him too and to have the chance to know more about gastronomy and Tanzanian cuisine. 10 points for Moshi!

The camping supplies were also very good. The mat was pretty comfortable as it was a foam mat thick enough so you could not feel the ground. The sleeping bag provided was really warm; in the night it can be chilly and it was more than enough. Tents were also of good quality. When we were in Simba camp (Ngorongoro) it was rainy during the night and the tent was always dry and provided enough protection. So you don't have to be worried about being comfortable, dry and safe.

We also stayed first and last night in Fanaka lodge and I can say it is a cool place. It is beautiful, peaceful and surrounded by nature. Rooms have a decent size, good and warm shower, comfy bed and they even have a swimming pool, so do not forget to bring your swimwear with you.

The car was fully equipped and it felt always very safe. It looks quite new and very well-maintained. Seats were very confy and there are plugs in every seat, so you can charge your devices if needed, which I consider a very cool thing and almost indispensable nowadays. Each seat has a huge window, so you will not miss anything! And the top can be opened as well,so you can have an even better look around and it is perfect if you like taking pictures.

I also stayed in the accommodation offered and owned by Meru Slopes in Arusha and it is highly recommended. Location is ideal, so it will take you just 15 minutes to the clock tower and Masaai market, 5 minutes to the main market, supermarket is a few steps away and there are plenty of shops and services just downstairs. Rooms are spatious and clean, bed with mosquito net, shower is warm and all elements in the room and bathroom are working well.

Meru Slopes makes a really good job and the whole staff are professionals you can trust 100%. They are very engaged with their work and treatment is exquisite.
Something very important for me as well is that it is a local company and their employees are locals too, and there is no one you can trust more than locals wherever you go.

My general view: Value for money is guaranteed.

My feelings: I did not have to worry about absolutely anything. I just got into the car and enjoyed my experience to the most. All of them, Geofrey, Emanuel, Moshi, Florian, treated me as family during the whole trip and made me feel at home, safe and integrated.
I hope to have the chance to be back soon and I already know Meru Slopes will alaways be my choice.

Simply amazing
5/5

Meru Slopes were amazing from start to finish - friendly, highly organised, reliable, flexible and great value for money. They went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time and the service was well beyond what we paid for. The tour was fantastic - we saw all thr big five many times over, accommodation was comfortable and the chef great. Cannot recommend Meru Slopes highly enough.

Incredible from start to finish
5/5

The experience was once in a lifetime and seeing the animals will make you excited to be alive. This tour operator was consistently fast to respond to queries when arranging the trip, and the tour guide also answered any questions I had and was extremely knowledgeable about the animals having done the job for 10+ years (Bashir). The chef was cooking delicious meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner (Ashraf). I can’t recommend this experience enough and there were no hidden additional costs - it’s all covered!

Welcoming and accommodating
5/5

We book through whatsapp around 3 months in advance, we exchanged a few messages with different companies and Meru seemed the most responsive and accommodating. Unfortunately there was a mistake in our safari tour, we had to start 1 day earlier but things eventually worked out (probably better to have a few days margin if you want to go on a shared safari to get lower prices).
We’ve been picked up at kilimanjaro airport, hosted 1 night in Arusha and left early the day after with 4 other ppl (most safari trucks are made for 6 customers, still roomy enough imo), our cook and our good guide mister MUDDY. We did 4 days, with 2 nights in tent in the parks and 1 night at a lodge near lake Manyara. The tents are quite roomy for two and high enough to stand in the middle, equipped with camping mat and sleeping bags (haven’t been cold at all). The food was simple but plenty and good, you can bring some snacks but you don’t need. We went to Serengeti NP, Ngorongoro area, and Lake Manyara NP. Overall everything went well, the staff has been friendly, professional, punctual and flexible. Some days were a bit tiring but nothing unsurmountable, and definitely worth the reward of living this unique experience. Idk if we got lucky but we’ve seen pretty much everything advertised (rhinos were a bit far though, bring your binoculars).
Unforgettable experience.
