Outstanding professionals that know how to find the best wildlife!
5/5

I had the most amazing safari tour in Tanzania with Meru Slopes! I spent 5 days exploring the Seregenti, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro crater and witnessed up close: lions, lion cubs, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, wildebeest, zebras and so, so much more! We camped in the Seregenti for a couple nights, which was an incredible experience! You can hear animals through the middle of the night under the most clearest sky of glimmering stars. It’s all just surreal.

You’ll have opportunity to buy African souvenirs, such as Maasai masks and other neat relics.

My driver and cook were fantastic people and the best of hosts. All in all, I highly recommend this tour. The memories you’ll make are for life.

An unforgettable experience
5/5

I can fully recommend Meru Slopes.

We have booked a five-day safari tour to the North Serengeti and the migration. The accommodations offered by Meru Slopes were very good. The rooms were all very large and clean. The service is without exception very friendly and accommodating. The tented lodges in the Serengeti also offer an impressive experience that should not be missed. The breakfast and dinner doesn't have a large selection, which is more than understandable given the location, but it tastes very good.

Geofrey is the contact person, answers all questions and has the right and, above all, fair offer for various requirements.
One thing you have to know: even if you have the feeling that something has not been confirmed in detail, you can assume that everything has been arranged to your complete satisfaction, at least as it is stated in the offer.

Geofrey organizes your own transfer from the airport there and back. From the moment of arrival everything goes perfectly until the end of the trip.

The hot lunch was well taken care of during the safari and cool drinks were always available in the jeep. Even the freely available WiFi worked perfectly during the safari in the jeep, with only a few exceptions.

Our tour guide Amani was very good. During the safari he was well connected and always informed about where there was something special to see. In addition to his good knowledge of the animal kingdom, we learned a lot about the country and the culture.
Amani even gave us a sundowner in the jeep in the evening whenever possible - just great!

All in all, an unforgettable, impressive and eventful trip with Meru Slopes that I can highly recommend.

Excellent Tour Operator
5/5

Had an amazing experience on a 6 day Safari with Meru Slopes. It was very well organised with an additional excursion being arranged last minute as there was more time before our return flight than initially thought. Our guide for the excursion, Frank, made it a very enjoyable day. However the biggest thank you has to go to our safari guide, Florian, who was extremely knowledgeable and had eyes like a hawk when spotting the wildlife. He ensured we saw all the big five plus many more and saw them numerous times, frequently very close to the jeep. I cannot thank him enough as he made it such an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

Perfectly guided
5/5

Ask for Kenedy as a Guide and Moshi as cook. They know their stuff and are great human beeings.
The tour was amazon. Kenedy is the perfect guide, he unsterstood very quickly, what I am interrested in seeing and took me to the best spots. He was also a very open and fun person. We laughed, learned from each other and saw many animals.
Moshi as a cook was very forthcoming and tried a accomodate all of the tour gruop's wishes plus his food always tasted good.

Cheap and cheerful with a golden heart. Highly recommended
5/5

Have been planning this trip for years and decided it was time to make it a reality. Three of us set off on a three day safari with these guys and I can say it was well worth it. The lodge and the hotel we stayed at needed a bit of TLC (particularly the bathrooms) but in every other way, the whole trip was incredible. The driver/guide was great, our chef was talented and kept us well fed and between us, we spotted all of the big five in a single day. If you're looking for a no-frills safari for a competative price, these guys are well worth looking at

Best experience ever. If you want the best od the best: ask for Jacob. Really happy with everything
5/5

Thanks to Jacob it was simply thw best experience of our lifes. Dream come true, how to come back soon!
We took the 4 night/4 day Safari. We got to Kilimanjaro airport and a driver was waiting for us to go to the first hotel: Green Mountain Hotel, a good hotel located in Arusha, just for sleeping and waking up early to get to know Jacob, our guide/driver, who picked us up at 8 am and our adventure started.
First day: Tarangire: amazing. We saw cheetahs, lions, elephants, A LEOPARD, hyenas, zebras, impalas and many more! After an amazing lunch and posterior game drives, we went to Tarangire Safari Lodge to see the sunset and to get a good night of sleep in a very comftable room (we even heard some lions next to our room at night and got to see some elephants around).
Second day: we saw a bunch of animals in Tarangire, and then drove straight to Ngorongoro entrance, just to go to Serengeti and get to see some more animals. Once again: Jacob, the experienced driver told us a bunch of fun facts about the parks and animals and we learnt A LOT with him. When we got to Serengeti (the most epic place on earth), we saw a pack of lions, a lioness with her baby and dropped some tears of course. Somehow we saw another leopard (which is very rare) and a lot of animals. One can’t imagine how much is going on at Serengeti National Park. We went to sleep to an even better hotel than the one we stayed before: Serengeti Luxury Tented Camps. Got an impressive ‘karibu’ by the staff and the room was out of this world. Forgot to mention: some Masais are part of the staff and they even help you to get to you room at night so it’s actually very safe.
Third day: we spent the day from early morning until 2 p.m. at Serengeti and ONCE AGAIN: LEOPARD. This time was the most epic because we saw it on the grass, just 5 meters away from our car (on the left side) and we had a lion eating a buffalo that it has just killed 10 meters away (on the right side). After some of the best moments and saying ‘asante’ to our friend Jacob, we went back to our fourth and last hotel: Rhino Loddge, a cozy hotel with extremely friendly staff and zebras and waterbucks just in front of our room.
Fourth day: we got to Ngorongoro Crater at 8am, the only one of the great 5 missing: Rhino. After 2.5 hours of seeing lions, hippos, flamingos, hyenas, buffalos and so on, we saw them: TWO BLACK RHINOS on the distance to make this Safari the best part of the best trip of our lifes (our honeymoon).

Once again big props to JACOB, the best driver/guide that we could ever get. He got for us special tanzanian food (Saladin), we had Coca Cola and fresh water the whole time and it’s good to know that Tanzanians, in this case Jacob, are such a kind, welcoming and genuine people. If we ever do a Safari again (that we hope so), we definitely will ask Meru Slopes to get us Jacob as a driver so we can have anothe unbelievable experience such as the one that we just had.

ASANTE JACOB, ASANTE MERU SLOPES,

Carolina & Samuel

Great experience with a great team
5/5

I am very happy with my Safari experience with Meru Slopes. They are a locally owned company that provides a great safari service. I can just say thank you to the entire team: Salehe, Buga Dance, and all the great guys I interacted with: Nico, Herman, Nuru, and of course Geoffrey and Emanuel. The tour was very loyal to the description. We visited Tarangeri, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We camped at Serengeti hearing the lions roar at night. And all in all the experience was totally worthwhile and I can highly recommend it. The team goes beyond expectations regarding service and I think it couldn’t be better. They even helped me to coordinate another tour. On the Safari, there was plenty of water, some sodas for the first few days, and wine for the nights. The food prepared by Buga was delicious and very varied. He even considers if you have any allergies and adapts the dishes to that. I have a very sensitive stomach and I did not have any issues with the food. It was nice to have always warm food, especially after the game drives (I saw other companies providing just lunch boxes). I appreciate Salehe that he made the effort to see all the animals we were interested in, and we got to see them all big 5. I loved the hotels before and after finishing the Safari and the food provided there was also quite tasty. Also, it was great that they provided wifi while in the car.
I chose Meru Slopes after comparing different companies on Trip Advisor. My criteria were price (going on a budget), having an AMREF doctor, that they provide the equipment for sleeping in the camping area, and that they include visiting the Maasai village for a more local immersion. Unfortunately, on my trip, there was no visit to Maasai and the team tried to compensate me with a visit to local markets in Arusha. Maybe some points for improvement is that it could be a bit more informative (give more details about the places, animals etc). Also, keep in mind that they sometimes mix people depending on the number of Safari days and this may cause mild logistic delays and that the mattress/sleeping bags are also mixed from camp to camp. Take toiletries with you (a camp did not have toilet paper/soap) and warm clothes - especially for Ngorongoro night.
Finally, I advice you not to forget to tip the driver/cook, etc. They may rely on it as I understand that they receive a very low part of what you pay.
Thanks to all the team.

Unforgettable safari experience with Meru Slopes
5/5

We booked a 6 days safari trip going to tarangire national park, serengeti and ngorogoro crater. Meru slopes picked us up at arusha bus station after a long drive and brought us to the hotel. The next morning we met our tourguide Douglas, he really made our trip more special. We felt safe in his car, could ask him anything about nature and every day he served us a freshly cooked lunch with a glass of wine with an amazing view! All of the lodges we stayed during our trip were amazing as well, clean rooms, nice beds and good food. We were lucky to spot the big 5 on our last day which made our trip complete! Defenitaly would recommend doing your safari trip with Meru Slopes!

Best week of our lives
5/5

Last July we, 2 persons, did a private 7 day / 6 night safari with Meru Slopes. This was hands down the best week of our live. We went to Tarangire, Serengeti (with great migration), Ngorongoro and Lake Mayara.

We booked directly with Meru Slopes and all contact with the owner Geoffrey was smooth. I've done over 10 inquiries with different companies for the same safari and Meru Slopes gave us the best price. Also a positive: you only pay a deposit up front, the rest you can pay in their office when you've met the driver and are already picked-up. So no need paying thousands of dollars up front before even meeting anybody.

A guide/driver can make or break your safari. Our guide Robert definately made our safari. I highly recommend him! He goes above and beyond to give you the best experience. He's also a very kind person and an excellent guide. He made sure we saw the big 5 and always tried his best to give us a good spot to see the animals. We would love to go back to the Serengeti with him in the future. Thank you Robert giving us such an amazing experience, we will never forget all the effort you put into making it the best week of our lives.

All the parks we visited are amazing and worth your time. But the Serengeti is a special place. Try to spend us much time possible here. And when the great migration is happening, don't skip it!

We booked with mid-level lodging but all the accomodations were way above what we expected. Special thanks to Ang'ata tented camps, at which we stayed three nights in the Serengeti. They were awesome!

I think Meru slopes gives a great value for money. And another thing to keep in mind, they are a fully Tanzanian company! This way you support the local people, and not some big British or Indian company.
