The perfect 4 day cultural and safari experience
5/5

Nick room is on a hike and coffee tour to Materuni waterfalls where we enjoys the natural beauties of the Materuni has to offer and then we had 3 days of safari game drive with Jacob who was very knowledgeable and did his absolute best to check off all the wildlife we wanted to see which we were extremely lucky to check every animal we wanted to see off our list in 3 days. Our private cook Salim who fed us very well breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We also had a very clean and well maintained vehicle for our game drives with free wifi, power outlets to recharge our camera batteries and phones and an electric cooler!
I will definitely be recommending Meru Slopes to any friends of family that want recommendations and if I come back with my children when they grow up enough to appreciate the experience.
You will not regret picking Meru Slopes.

Safari trip of a lifetime
5/5

We want to extend our biggest thank you to jacob and buga who made our safari memorable. The entire team at Meru Slopes were so helpful and so accommodating, if you’re still hesitating between different tours, we wholeheartedly reccomend them with no hestitation. We had dozens of quotes from different companies and Meru Slopes were the most accommodating in term of budget and itinerary.

We took a 4 days-3 nights package with them in mid-May. We wanted to see Tarangire, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro crater. Our itinerary was very well planned, nothing to stress about on our side. They came to pick us up from the airport the day before and offered accomodation for the night. We paid a 15% deposit before to confirm and we finalized everything when we got to the hotel. They helped us get free card sims (which was such a nice thing to do) and helped with the whole set up as well.

While other tours offered boxed lunches and sometimes dinners, Meru Slopes went above and beyond and provided us with hot (and amazing!) meals throughout the day. Bouga (our cook) is unmatched and his food was so tasty, we often wanted seconds. If you book with them, definitely ask for Bouga as a cook.

Our driver and guide Jacob was amazing as well. He knows the parks like the back of his hand, he is very knowledgeable in all the animals in the park and he will answer any questions we have. There was a water bottle in our seats every morning and electricity in the car (even though sometimes it didn’t work as well). They also offered wifi but that wasn’t working as much either so don’t expect a strong connection.

We slept two nights in lodges and one in tents when we were supposed to do one in a lodge and two in a tent, so that was very nice surprise.

As a disclaimer, whether you book with this company or another, please be mindful of the Masai village tour. Not in a way to discredit the villages and the people, but more as a critique of the practice (that is widely done by many other companies). Before booking our tour, we made sure to ask that we do not do it, as we believe that people should not have to sell out their cultural practices in order to make a living. We wanted to support in other ways, but it was surprisingly part of our program even if we didn’t ask for it. We love learning about different cultures but in a way that is ethical and that truly supports the lifestyle of those people without them having to monetize on it. So unless you insist on doing it, we would recommend against it, and instead, look for programs that directly help the villages and their people (whether that’s with money, buying their creations as souvenirs, or supporting the preservation of their traditions and culture in Tanzania). One of the things we wish we did was get more knowledge of the Masaai tribe and other tribes in Tanzania prior to our trip, to make sure we knew how to best support them while we were there. So we definitely recommend getting informed beforehand.

Overall, if you were like us and were hesitating between the million tour companies and wasn’t sure about this one, book this one! no regrets!

Great safari trip
5/5

We were really lucky with spotting the animals. It was soo incredible to see lion and cheetah cubs! The food our chef Gideon made was really good and that he took care about my friend and me as vegetarians was so nice. Our driver was Lobulu and he brought us save through the whole trip. We booked the safari with Jerome who answerd all our questions quickly. Overall we had an amazing safari with nice people in our group and lots of animals that we spotted.

Excellent organization to have an unforgettable Safari adventure
5/5

Our Safari "9-Day Mid-Range Serengeti Wildebeest Migration Tour & Dh" with Meru Slopes was very well organised by Kelvin Bonith, according to our preferences and at good value. Jacob -driver/guide and Daniel -guide in spanish language- were professional and really friendly. They came us close to the animals, always taking care of their natural habitat.
Good logements, drinking water, free wifi during the tour, binocular inside the safari jeep etc.
We enjoyed this adventure so much!!!!!
Thanks!!!!!

Very happy with our choice of Meru slopes as safari operatorr
5/5

The best tour operator in and around Arusha! We had a fantastic time with Meru Slopes on our 7 day Safari + Kilimanjaro/Materuni Excursion. Our guide and driver Andrew was exceptional, always in a good mood, very knowledgeable, also really patient and with his 24 years experience as a Safari Guide he spotted many of the very rare animals. Our chef Rashidi cooked huge and delicious local and international meals for us. He even got up at 3am to prepare breakfast and cook a proper hot lunch which we took to our game drives (every meal freshly cooked and friendly for tourist stomachs).
For our Materuni Waterfalls and coffee tour at Kilimanjaro, as well as airport pickup and drop off we had Fidelis as tour guide/driver. He is such a nice person and very knowledgeable about the tour as he's from the Chaga tribe himself. This is a really interesting tour because you can get to know more of the culture, learn about the coffee and also you can buy organic coffee to support the community.
All in all we highly recommend Meru Slopes for a Safari and tours in/around Arusha. They are doing a great job and gave us an experience of a lifetime that we're never going to forget. Also because of the kindness and the Hakuna matata lifestyle

Fully recommend
5/5

We did a 4 day customized safari, mid price accommodations. The communication with Jerome from Meru Slopes was all the way professional and reliable. He offered an all inclusive package, including airport transfers, accommodations, full board (cooked lunch for daily picknicks) and most importantly a smart itinerary (sunset and sunrise at a Serengeti lodge) Nuru our driver and guide is a very kind person and excellent spotter who shared his deep knowledge about the nature and culture. We enjoyed every minute!

Terrific Safari package through several of Tanzania's most wondrous parks
5/5

I forget how I found Meru Slopes, but on more than one occasion I counted my blessings for having done so. Their service was so good I thought it might be a scam. From the moment I sent an initial inquiry to Jerome, who was wonderful in arranging everything throughout the whole process, to the moment I got dropped off the morning after the trip at the bus station, everything was first rate: the airport pickup and hotel in Arusha; the wonderful, knowledgable, and charismatic driver and guide, Stanley; the terrific chef, Buga; and the excellent itineraries we pursued in Serengeti and Ngorongoro. I would (and will) highly recommend Meru Slopes to everyone I know.

Amazing guide and chef
5/5

Amazing experience from start to finish! We did this safari, my wife and I, and everything went great.

Florien, our guide and driver, is the best you can find, with +10 years of experience he knows every single corner of the parks (Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire) and he was constantly looking around to see if he could spot the animals (such an incredible catcher!). Sometimes doing only the main roads is tricky because it can get crowded, so he always tried to look for alternatives, even if it meant to drive more time and far away, but when we spotted the animals we were there alone and without any rush from the other cars.

Moshi, our chef, is an amazing cooker and such a lovely person. He cooked every meal we had and everything was super tasty and homemade. Every day we had different meals to taste and he always tried to explain what was the food, how to eat it and was served always hot (which is great specially when you just wake up and you taste that amazing hot breakfast.

Definitely something to repeat and to recommend this team!
