Fantastic
5/5

We did an 8 day, 7 night tour. When we arrived at Kilimanjaro airport they were waiting for us to take us to the hotel in Arusha. The hotel and dinner were great. The next morning we were picked up by our guide Douglas, who managed to get us to see all kinds of animals, many more than we expected! He taught us a lot about the animals and the culture in Tanzania. He is also an excellent driver since we traveled many kilometers on dirt roads. He did everything necessary to make sure we had an excellent experience. The first day of the safari we went to Tarangine and we managed to see many animals that day! We stayed at Eileen's Trees Inn. The facilities were excellent as was the dinner. The next morning we arrived at the Serengeti park where the experience was more and more spectacular. We stayed at a Bush Camp in Central Serengeti, where we were excellently looked after by Danieli and his entire team. Sleeping in those tents was tremendously exciting! A few meters away from them a pride of lions had hunted a buffalo and our guide went to the tent to show us the spectacular scene. The next day while we were having breakfast the same pride of lions hunted another buffalo a few meters from the camp! Then we continued on the safari through the Serengeti and in the afternoon we headed north to see the great migration of wildebeest. We stayed in another bush camp this time in the north, where the experience was also incredible. The next morning we went to the Masai Mara river where we were lucky enough to see a group of wildebeest crossing the river. Then we returned to Central Serengeti. The next day we did the safari through the central area and left for Ngorongoro where we stayed at Rhino lodge. Our room had a terrace and at night we saw a herd of buffalo a few meters from us! The next morning we went down to the Nogorongoro crater and almost as we left we saw a leopard eating its prey in a tree
There were also many lions and we even saw a rhinoceros in the distance. That day we returned to Arusha. The experience exceeded all our expectations in every way. We saw all the animals and more than we expected. Our guide Douglas was the best, the food, the attention, the bush camp everything was magical. We hope to repeat this experience with Meru Slope because from the beginning when we booked the tour they always took care of all the details and adapted it according to our requirements. Absolutely recommendable

Meru Slopes gave us one of their best tour guide, Florian.
5/5

We’re 100% satisfied with our 10-day safari tour, the guide, the accommodations, the food, and the number of wildlife sightings we experienced through Mr. Florian’s expertise.

Our guide, Florian, spoke the code language of the other guides using short-wave radio to locate notable timely sightings and then buckled up because he’d drive quickly over dirt roads (the infamous African massage) to get to the location for a sporadic viewing of cheetahs, leopards, lions, rhinoceros, and wildebeest crossing the Mara River for example. We witness the timely viewing with front row seating of a wildebeest eaten by a crocodile, ostriches matting, and lions matting on the endless prairie.

Our accommodations consisted of lodging and glamping. The lodges were like a protected compound, like a garden of Eden, often very different than the surroundings. You always felt safe and secure and comfortable, sometimes with very talented local entertainment. The glamping in the Serengeti was very comfortable, and there was excellent service and guards to protect you at night if wild animals showed up. One guard I spoke to carried a bow and razor-sharp arrows to deter persistent wildlife. No guns. The tents have modern comforts like running hot water, flush toilets, mosquito net beds, closets, chairs, and desks.

A wide variety of food, fruits, vegetables, and meats are locally grown and always fresh and delicious. You are always full and satisfied with three timely meals daily. Bottles of water, non-alcoholic beverages, beer, and wine are provided. An open bar is always available in the evening.

We are delighted with the wildlife sightings since we saw the big five and many creatures we’ve never seen before. Florian was well-versed, giving us insights and knowledge about many flora, fauna, and tribal cultures. The Massai culture is the most interesting. We visited a several Massai villages greeted by very hospitable hosts. As I mentioned earlier, the local guides are collectively a brotherhood, a fraternity of guides who speak a code language only they understand on the radio to ensure you see wildlife that otherwise is hidden from the inexperienced viewer.

Our trip was a success from the beginning (late August) to the end (early September). The weather is comfortable, with very few bugs. Bring a jacket for cool nights at higher elevations. The timing was impeccable, and Florian's ability to circumvent any trouble we might have had with the vehicle was due to his forethought and timely vehicle maintenance. Each driver is responsible for their 4 x 4 Toyota 6- to 7-passenger vehicle featuring an extended luggage compartment and pop-up roof. We observed other guides having problems with flat tires, overheating, and poorly maintained diesel engines, but not our truck because Florian takes responsibility for ensuring that his vehicle is well-maintained before leaving the office.

The animals won’t bother spectators in the vehicle when viewing closeup. We only become prey when we exit the vehicle. I hope this helps.

A wonderful safari experience and a very professional service.

My wife and I had a fantastic provate safari with Meru Slopes!

Our driver/guide (Santaely) was patient, professional and dedicated to making sure our needs and requirements were met. After Turkish Airlines failed to put our bags on the plane, our guide helped us buy new clothes locally and Meru Slopes drove our bags to us after Turkish Airlines finally transferred them - this was very much appreciated.

We saw the "big 5" and the "ugly 5" and took home memories that will last a lifetime. I would certainly recommend Meru Slopes for your Serengeti safari!

Amazing 6-Day Safari Experience with Meru Slopes and Tours!

We recently had an unforgettable 6-day group safari with Meru Slopes and Tours, visiting the Serengeti, Lake Manyara, and Tarangire Park. The entire experience was smooth and seamless, thanks to Gift Tembo, who expertly coordinated the trip for us. The responses were quick, and the itinerary was planned out perfectly. Hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti is definitely a must too!

The jeep rides were a thrilling adventure on their own, often feeling like a fun rollercoaster! We’re incredibly grateful to our guide, Daniel, who has 20 years of experience. He expertly maneuvered the sometimes tricky roads, ensuring we always felt safe.

The food throughout the trip was delicious, and we were always full and satisfied. The lodgings were also very comfortable, allowing us to rest well each night.

Overall, we had an amazing time and would highly recommend Meru Slopes and Tours for anyone looking for a well-organized and memorable safari experience!

Plus side, don’t forget to tip the cook, driver, those who helped you with your bags or anything else! They tirelessly work with their heart, it’s a lovely sight. People are not pushy, everyone is friendly even at the lodges/hotels/camps we stayed in, we were very welcomed.

Lastly, there are a lot of bathroom stops along the way so stay hydrated with water or the free beers & cokes provided during the tour, as weather can get dry. Bathrooms are so clean too!!

I’m very happy with my 8 days in Tanzania, it was a very unexpected & flawless experience.

Best tour of my life!
5/5

The safari exceeded all expectations. First our guide Julius was always smiling and willing to comply with any request. He was knowledgeable about animals and had a keen sense on how to find them. We were two women traveling alone and always felt well protected. The food was delicious, no fast food. The accommodation were wonderful. Value for the money was excellent. Kevin from Merlu Slopes was fast to answer all correspondence. I tried with several companies and was very happy to have ended up with Merlu Slopes. It was a dream come true.

An Unforgettable Safari Trip with Meru Slopes
5/5

We (a group of six from the US) just returned from an incredible trip to Tanzania organized by Meru Slopes & Safari. The highlight of the trip was a 7-day safari with our tour driver/guide, Salehe. He was an experienced, knowledgeable, calm, patient, and friendly guide. We witnessed wildebeests crossing the Mara River, large groups of elephants walking around our safari truck, lions feeding their cubs and fighting each other, cheetahs passing right by us, and countless other unforgettable moments. The tents/lodges and food were of high quality and very clean.

We also had a great time with our city and local culture tour guide, Herman. His patience paid off, allowing us to see the top of Mount Kilimanjaro from a distance after it had been hiding in the clouds for a long time.

We would also like to thank our tour organizer, Almanchui. He always responded promptly to our questions, even late at night, and tailored the entire tour plan to meet our needs and expectations.

We will definitely recommend Meru Slopes & Safari to our friends and relatives.
