Ask for Nadine!
My boyfriend and I booked a combined Botswana/Mozambique trip through Safari Specialists. Our agent was Nadine. I have to say this: book with Nadine! She was excellent. We were definitely needy clients--emailing 2-5x a day, changing the extent and locations of our stay more than once. When my boyfriend needed WiFi in the Okavango Delta, she found us a camp within our price range with reliable WiFi. She never pushed an itinerary outside of our price range on us like other agents and consistently worked with our needs. Nadine put together the most amazing itinerary that checked all of our boxes: game drives, mokoro rides, WiFi, walking safaris, dhow rides, snorkeling, and more. The trip itself was a blast, and incredibly smooth--we never felt like our agent left us out in the cold. Nadine has been amazing to us! We are beyond thankful.

Fantastic experience!
I did the vintage safari in Botswana with Safari Specialist. Everything was well organized. Lisa was very good at explaining to me every detail of my safari, attentive to every need and everything worked perfectly. Absolutely the best!
I was on Safari for 3 months with 10 different operators and agents. None of them can compare to what Safari Specialists did for us. Lisa was the best right from the start in customizing our trip. We had 3 separate parts to out adventure with them. She always kept us up to date and if she wasn't around Erica stepped in and took care of things. We were greeted at the airport in Maun and presented with information & guide books that no one else provided. When we had problems Lisa was always there and stood up for us and kept us constantly informed. We even received a big refund on one of the Safaris when there were major problems. I have never written a review before but Lisa was so good that I had to write this. I highly recommend Safari Specialists to anyone for any trip. I just wish they were in Tanzania & Kenya as well. 5-star safari operator! Simply the best!
We just enjoyed our second safari organized by safari specialists!
In short terms: absolutely perfect in every way! Again!
Our agent was Nadine (again) and like on our first trip she excelled again! Every question was answered in no time, she made suggestions and recommendations that were spot-on.
Her recommendations concerning the camps were on the money! We chose Tau Pan, Lagoon and Shinde. All of them were first class.
All of her bookings for lodging, activities and flights were exceptional and proceeded without any issues.
We were greeted at the airport on the way in and way out which made us feel as being part of the “family”.
We will definitely use their service again on the next trip!

Absolutely perfect!
I was hesitant to book with someone outside of the US, but after going I now know it makes perfect sense to go with someone who is located where you want to go! All the lodging was exactly the level that I was looking for! I have absolutely NO complaints! It was an incredible adventure! I have been to Tanzania before but Botswana has their tourism industry finely tuned. Everything went off without a hitch. Every lodge knew when we were scheduled to depart to the next place and got us to our transportation for the next destination. I hope I can make another trip to Botswana and when I do I will definately book with Safari Specialists!

Joanne was wonderful in her assistance and contact throughout the booking process and her willingness to answer all our questions before and during our trip. In short her communication with us was excellent! We had a good idea of where we wanted to stay and what we wanted to do but Joanne's experience enabled her to make suggestions which enhanced our plans. We were impressed with the documentation that was provided to us which not only outlined our itinerary but gave us comprehensive background information about Botswana, our accommodation and the safari experience. All our transfers went smoothly - we were even met at Maun airport by a representative from Safari Specialists when we were in transit to Johannesburg. Our experiences in the three Sanctuary lodges, the people who looked after us, and the range of wildlife that we saw was just wonderful. Thank you Joanne for your part in enabling us to experience amazing Botswana.

Excellent Service
After selecting Safari Specialists, we spent the next two years communicating with Nadine, one of their agents. Nadine was able to understand our requests and make excellent suggestions. We never felt pressured into doing something we didn't want to do. I don't think one travel company is going to get you much better of a deal than any other (prices are set by the individual camps) however Nadine did find us a great deal at one camp that she knew was opening up and meet our needs. The real difference between travel companies is their ability to understand what type of safari you are looking for and availability to answer questions. Safari Specialists were top notch in both. Nadine not only helped us to arrange a perfect first time safari, she also happily answered all types of questions from us. It was amazing that in the middle of Botswana and Zimbabwe, with limited communications, every aspect of our safari was coordinated seamlessly. We had one company drive us to an airstrip, another company fly us to our next camp, and a third company pick us and deliver us to that camp. And not once did Safari Specialists fail us. I felt like someone was holding our hand and guiding us around southern Africa the whole time.

When booking a Safari for the first time you have to rely on a good tour operator. Safari specialist was referred to us by someone who had used them several years ago. Nadine clearly understood our priorities, budget and prepared an amazing itinerary for us. Nadine communicated with us through email and phone calls as required before, during the Safari and on our arrival home. Phenomenal
From the moment I contacted safari specialists to when I returned home, the entire experience was a pleasure! I was in constant communication with them and organizing everything was easy.
