Great safari with Beacon Safaris
Thank you, Beacon Safaris for a wonderful experience - with special thanks to Kenneth who was our driver/guide, Robert (who helped to plan and coordinate the entire trip) and various staff who picked us from the airport.
We are a multi-generation family group with 3 elderly (but sprightly fit) grandparents on a 5-days Kenya safari. We consulted with many friends who are based in Kenya for recommendations for reliable and cost effective safari operators, but in the end, we are lucky to find Beacon Safaris through Safaribookings.com who provide an easy way to search and obtain quotes from 3 operators.
During our trip, I was able to observe and compare the different companies that are active in the lodges and during game drives, and I can safely say that Kenneth/Beacon is easily among the best. With his superior experience, quality of vehicle, local knowledge and excellent relationships with the hotel/camps as well as the park authorities, we experienced minimal hassle/waiting time and were able to navigate more fully around the parks and see more animals. Very often, we were the only vehicle in wide open spaces looking at wild life while other vehicles/operators were mainly bunched up around known big game sightings. We are glad we opted for the Landcruiser as we observe that the visitors using the vans suffer from limited mobility and poorer sight lines.
We feel lucky having Kenneth as our guide/driver. I notice he commanded a lot of respect from other drivers who often sought his advice. At one point, we ran into a blockade due to civil unrest. Demonstrating resourcefulness and local knowledge, Kenneth was able to locate us a secure compound for an unplanned rest stop. Later, he found a detour using a back country road and led us and another vehicle through to the camp.
Maasai Mara is wonderful when we were there with the great migration in full swing with more animals than recent years. We stayed in Maisha Mara which has good quality rooms, food and facilities. Overall, they have the best guest service. One downside is that its 15 minutes from the National Park entrance. At Lake Nakuru, we stayed at the Sopa Lodge Lake Nakuru. At Amboseli, we were placed at the Kibo Camp. Both locations are well-chosen, well-run and have lovely staff. One scope for improvement would be to request for the rooms closer to the dining areas for groups with elderly guests.
Robert from Beacon Safaris was helpful and responsive in communications. I was coordinating amongst various family members and require plenty of forward information and assurance, but eventually everything fell into place. Robert helped to organize a vehicle for half-day excursion for the family in Nairobi - which we enjoyed tremendously - a quick trip around downtown, national museum, excellent meal at Cultiva (highly recommended) in Karen and a tour of the Karen Blixen House.
We are already recommending Beacon Safaris and Kenneth to our friends who are considering a Kenyan safari.

Outstanding driver guide !
Ken was the best driver we have ever met! His professionalism & kindness would be our reason to revisit Kenya!
Can’t believe that he managed to look for BIG FIVE and river crossing in just 1 day, besides of luck I truly believe his ‘information & interpersonal network on finding animal ’ helps a lot ! Thanks Ken very much for giving us an enjoyable and remarkable trip!
For Hotels, didn’t really have much expectations so far so good. Mara Sopa Lodge is good , have relatively good food choice and stay, for another hotel we stayed - Mara Jumbo, although look properly online but not recommend to stay because of many ants in room , window is broken can’t open, and the food selection was quite disappointed.
For Vehicle, highly recommend to upgrade to 4WD Jeep, the experience is great, of course Ken’s excellent driving skills make us feel exciting and good.
Definitely recommend Beacon Safaris, reliable and honest although sometimes respond is not very fast, still acceptable!

Outstanding.
We had an amazing time, Alex and Carlos were our guides, obviously they knew their stuff, but they went above and beyond, and were most helpful. Robert was always quick to respond with any questions, I cannot recommend them enough 👍

Professionalism, availability and reliability
Excellent management of the safaris both from a logistical and organizational point of view.
Strong and exciting experience of meeting both the Big Five and the other numerous animals that populate the parks up close.
A special thanks to our guide Ken who led us with passion and professionalism in this wonderful experience.
Ken was also extremely generous in taking the time to recover our missing suitcases and helping a colleague in difficulty (bogged jeep).
The success of our Safaris was largely thanks to him.
Ken the Number One (the sixth big!)🤩

Amazing Experience
Jackson is an amazing driver. He showed us all the corners of the Masai Mara to see the big five. He is so kind, funny and easy going. We will never forget the safari with him.

Great experience that both adults and kids enjoyed.
We had great time as a group of 3 adults and 3 kids ( youngest one 2.5 years old).
James, our driver and guide, has also been friendly, helpful and very professional.
Our camp has been upgraded to Zebra River camp and it was spectacular- tasty food, clean and close to Masai Mara park entrance.

The best honeymoon and the best guide!!
We had a wonderful five days!
Alex is a great guide. He was an animal-hunting professional and showed us not only Big5 but all the animals we wanted to see.
He has a lot of knowledge about animals, and he always predicted their movements and guided us to where we could take the best pictures.
We are very grateful for his friendly personality and flexible service.
Thank you very much, Alex!

A safari to always remember
The safari my family and I went on with Beacon was perfect in every way. From the program conception phase to the days spent in Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru, everything went well and fulfilled the dream of going on safari. Congratulations to the whole team and especially to Robert and Leonard (our driver).

Professional helpful operator
Excellent trip and experience, guides Daniel and Anthony were very professional and helpful. Managed to see all the big 5 and lots more in the 5 day 4 night Masai mara, Nakuru and Naivasha trip. Thank you also for all your help in getting our bags back when our airline Saudi Airlines left us without luggage for 5 days!

Three-Day Safari Adventure – A Truly Unforgettable Experience!
I recently went on a 3-day safari, and it was absolutely breathtaking from start to finish! If you're looking for a trip that combines adventure, nature, and a bit of magic, this is it.
From the moment we set off, the excitement in the air was palpable. Driving through vast, open savannahs, we were immediately greeted by the sight of giraffes, zebras, and even a family of elephants roaming freely. Every day felt like a new chapter in a storybook of wildlife.
Our guides were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. They knew exactly where to go and when, making sure we had the best chance to see the “Big 4” – and we did! Watching lions in their natural habitat, with the sun setting behind them, was a moment I’ll never forget. 🦁🌅
The accommodations were comfortable and well-situated, giving us panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Waking up to the sounds of nature, surrounded by the African wilderness, was both calming and exhilarating.
Each day brought new surprises, from spotting a cheetah on a hunt to witnessing a herd of wildebeests crossing the plains. The diversity of wildlife we encountered was mind-blowing.
But what made this safari truly special was how it connected me to the natural world in a way I hadn’t experienced before. It’s one thing to see animals in documentaries, but being there, in their world, is a whole other level of awe.
If you're considering a safari, don’t hesitate. This was the adventure of a lifetime, and I can’t recommend it enough!
