Good experience, excellent servise from operators
Our safari trip to Selous game reserve was perfectly organized. We stayed two nights at a budget accomodation. It was perfectly suitable for us. We had a driver/guide and a chef with us. The food was so good and it was more than enough for us. We took a full day game drive which was a good experience. I would not recommed the walking safari. It was just walking in the near by forest and looking at the baobab trees and other vegetation. Not a good experience. Consentrate on the game drives. Those will give you so much more.
Great experience - we had a fantastic safari due thanks to the Grassroot Sarari team!
The Grassroots Safari team combines the unique values of a) understanding a visitors preferences/references and b) ability to translate this leveraging their local knowledge and connections - setting up every trip for success! We saw the big five within 36 hours :) thanks Grasstoot Safari team!

great time in Ruaha
We went to Ruaha, stopping at Uluguru Mountains on the way and at Udzungwa Mountains on the way back. We really enjoyed traveling with Grassroots. It was so easy and convenient to organize our trip with them. We just told them some places that we wanted to see and they adapted the trip as per your wishes, it was so personalized. They even gave us several options and we discussed them together. Plus, they have good prices, the food was great, and the driver really knew what he was doing, we felt safe and were glad to be with him. Grassroots' people were very nice and always made sure that we are good and enjoy the trip. We also had good laughs and will not forget this trip. I highly recommend it, I was living in Dar Es Salaam during 1 year and never found such a good and friendly company.

wildlife galore
We had a great time on safari with Micky and Gabriel. They picked us up in Daar e Salam and drove us to Selous game park. We were on a tight budget so we slept in tents in a campground just outside the park. Micky cooked us 3 meals a day which were delicious! We spent all day in Selous and saw all the animals we could imagine, even the rare wild dogs. Grassroots was great and excellent value. They were very flexible and happy to stay as long as we wanted in the park. I would recommend them.

It was perfect. Best food we ever had in tanzania at Decken Camp and incredible experiences.
I would recommend Grassroots as a provider which is very friendly and helpfully.
We visited Udzungwa and Mikumi and it was a very nice experience! The campsides he offered are very nice too with very friendly staff. Hondo Hondo is wellknown and the best place to start to the waterfalls.
Decken Camp was very new, I think we were the 6th guests they had. Very, very friendly, clean and near to the Mikumi park. But the best was the food they offered. Everyone also the kids were excited!
We will come back as soon as possible next year.

One of the best travel experiences ever!
We visited Tanzania seven years ago and we were on a 2-night budget tour in Selous Game Reserve with Micky and co. The safari was one of the best experiences I've ever had and I would definitely want to go back there one day!! Everything was very well organized and we had a lot of fun. Already the drive from Dar to Selous was something that I'll always remember, driving through those small villages in the Tanzanian countryside. In Selous, we stayed at a camp by the Rufiji River and slept in tents, which was very exciting. And the food served there was great: I still remember the delicious cucumber soup for lunch and the buffalo meat for dinner, cooked of course on a fire under so brightly shining stars, which are impossible to see in Europe. But the best was of course the animals. We saw many many elephants, giraffes and so on, and even a leopard! I definitely recommend this safari!

For a great time and a good safari i would gladly book once again with grassroots company.
The safari was great, we were lucky enough to see a lot of animals .The water fall, and the tracking was over filling. The guide was really sweet and friendly. All the time asking ihow we are. Food was just like a 5 star resturant. Although we though we are going to have normal rooms, but at the end we had just camps it was still ok. The place how they set it up, was like a picture, full of trees. In the wild, but everything up to standard.
So in total we were very happy with everything we had. I would recomaned this company over and over again.

Grassroots: Perfect solution for a wonderful real safari experience
We had a very good feeling about Grassroots' organisation since the beginning. Mickey, the guy who helped us to arrange the trip, was very friendly and comprehensive with us. He was giving us perfect suggestions and organising everything according to our needs. The safari guide, Abdul, was a perfect driver and an excellent guide during the game drives. He was one of the only few drivers not using the "radio system" to find out animals in the parks. We appreciated this a lot. Generally speaking, the organisation of the safari tour was perfect, the accomodations were good and there was no one inconvenience. We loved the baloon experience very much!!We recommend anyone doing the safari to address to Grassroots to experience for sure an amazing trip.

An amazing experience with amazing people
I never usually write reviews as often you think they are created by the people from the company. So I always think it's best to go with your gut instinct! But, this is a company that deserves a review.
Myself and my girlfriend went on a 3 day Safari to Mikumi national park. We had the experience of a lifetime.
We were met at the airport by a representative of the company and taken to a house where we could rest for a few hours after a long flight.
In the morning we were met by Keneth our guide and started our tour.
Keneth was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, affable and very proud of his job and country.
A long the way he not only introduced us to the animals but also his country and it's people.
It was a fascinating experience to learn about Tanzania, Africa and the animals from a local.
Mikumi National park was a wonder and we managed to see all the animals we dreamed of. Even if we hadn't it wouldn't have mattered as it was fantastic just to be in their environment.
Grassroots safaris were amazing from start to finish! Micky handled all of our requests and questions and managed to organise everything in the short time frame I gave him. The food accommodation and hospitality were far above anything we expected in the price
They went above and beyond the call of duty and even looked after us when I contacted them from Zanzibar when Dani broke her leg.
It was always a dream of mine to go on safari and this was a great start and I will be back for more.
I cannot recommend Micky, Keneth and Grass Roots highly enough.
Thanks for making a dream of mine come true.
We look forward to coming back for more.
Many many thanks!!
