Kenya Unfiltered: Big Five, Incredible People & an Epic Guide
My Kenya safari with Jocky Tours from 13–19 September 2026 was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Francis, aka Faru!
I joined this as a solo traveler on a group trip, and from the very beginning, the entire experience was incredibly well planned. The accommodation, food, transportation, and overall organization were all excellent, especially considering this was a budget safari. Everything was well coordinated, which made the trip comfortable and completely stress-free.
On Day 1, Faru told us that he was going to make this trip historic and he absolutely delivered on that promise! His experience, knowledge, and passion for the Kenyan wilderness were evident throughout the entire safari. He seemed to know exactly where to go and when to go, and his connections and experience in the Masai Mara made a huge difference to our sightings.
One of the biggest highlights was how close Faru managed to get us to the animals. He consistently went the extra mile to give us incredible up-close views and photo opportunities, while also making sure we maintained respect for the animals and did not disturb them. It was amazing to watch him read the animals and their surroundings so naturally. You could genuinely tell that the reserves are his backyard.
We were incredibly lucky to have some fantastic sightings of the Big Five, and a huge part of that was down to Faru’s experience, local knowledge, and contacts in the Mara. Whether it was finding wildlife, positioning the vehicle perfectly, or knowing where to be at the right time, he made the safari feel truly special.
Beyond the safari itself, Faru made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire trip. As a solo traveler joining a group of people from different parts of the world, I initially wasn’t sure what to expect, but he was friendly, approachable, professional, and always made sure everyone was having a great time. Travelling and sharing this experience with people from around the world made it even more memorable.
Kenya itself was absolutely breathtaking, but having the right guide made all the difference. Faru didn’t just take us on a safari he created an experience that I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
A huge thank you to Jocky Tours and especially to Faru for an unforgettable 7 days in Kenya. From the planning and accommodation to the food, wildlife, and incredible group experience, everything came together perfectly.

Everything went exactly as the company had planned — camps, timings and logistics all spot on. What really made the trip, though, was David Mnyama. As our driver and guide he found wildlife none of us would have noticed, explained everything with genuine passion, and looked after our group of eight beautifully. Ask for him if you can. Smooth logistics, no surprises, and excellent guides.
Everything the company promised was delivered exactly as agreed: the itinerary, the camps and the logistics all ran smoothly, with no surprises. But the real highlight was our guide and driver, David Mnyama. He has an amazing eye for spotting wildlife, always positioned the vehicle so all eight of us got a great view, and shared fascinating stories about the animals and the area along the way. Warm, patient and always looking after the group. The camps and landscapes were beautiful, but David is what made these six days unforgettable. Highly recommended!

It's worth the price because it's very good.
It was a surprise to find so many animals in Maasai Mara Park. I was able to see the Big Five. The tour guide was excellent and very professional. I recommend Jocky Tours to everyone. Our guide, Francis, deserves high praise!

Great experience! Definitely recommended.
We had an experienced tour guide and we felt safe throughout the trip. Our guide is knowledgeable and informative too. The itinerary was well balanced, we had sufficient time for safari game drive or activities and some rest time as well. Meals were included and we never felt hungry! It was an amazing experience and would like to come back.

I had a great experience with Jocky Tours.
My guide, Francis, put a lot of effort into the game drives to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and got to see as many animals as possible, especially the more elusive ones.
He was also very professional and genuinely cared about his clients. I had a problem with my balloon ride, and even though he was no longer my guide, he went out of his way to help resolve the issue and make sure everything ran smoothly.
I really appreciated his dedication and would highly recommend Francis as a guide.

An absolutely unforgettable safari experience!
We were three brothers travelling from France and booked a 4-day safari with Joky Tours, visiting the Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru. It was an incredible experience from beginning to end and exceeded all our expectations.
We were extremely lucky with the wildlife. We managed to see all of the Big Five as well as the Ugly Five! We even saw both white and black rhinos, several lions and lionesses, lion cubs, and so many other animals. It was simply incredible to see all of them in their natural environment.
A huge part of what made this safari so special was our driver and guide, Denis. He was always in a great mood, full of humour and genuinely took care of everyone travelling with him. He is also an excellent driver, which you quickly learn to appreciate on the roads and safari tracks!
I am very interested in photography, and Denis really went above and beyond to help me get the best possible pictures. He always did his best to find the right position and give us the best opportunities to observe and photograph the animals. Thanks to him, I came back with some truly beautiful photos and memories that I will keep for a very long time.
Alex was also extremely friendly, welcoming and always smiling. We felt very well looked after by the Joky Tours team throughout the experience.
Four days went by far too quickly. We came to Kenya dreaming of experiencing a real African safari, and what we experienced was even better than we had imagined.
If I ever come back to Kenya for another safari, I would choose Denis as my driver and guide again without hesitation.
If I could give this experience 6 stars out of 5, I would!
