Amazing safari for an unbeatable price
5/5

We booked spontaneously a 3-day safari to Masai Mara with Jocky Tours. Everything worked out as planned, our guide Jack answered all our questions and did everything to give us an unforgettable experience. The camp we stayed in was excellent and the food very delicious. We had an awesome trip !

A trip to remember, a country to come back.

First, the information and attention we were provided with by Minneh were so detailed and helpful. Her answer was quick, clear and the expectations we were created were completely satisfied.
What to say about the tour... we couldn't have met a better driver! James was all the time thinking about how to take advantge of every single moment. James was a caring and expert driver who made us feel safe all the time and enjoying the vest views ever, as he was fighting the best spots in very respectful manners. We are so thankful for the 10 days safary we booked with Jocky Tours.

Excellent Budget Safari
5/5

Everything was according to description. The camps and hotels were spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable and equipped with moskitonet. Breakfast and dinner were always good. Food is for most part according to Kenyan standards, dinner and lunch: rice, local spinach type, chiapati, chicken, beef, peas, carrots, beans, breakfast: toast, jam, eggs, sausages, fruits, tea, juices. Lunches on the way sated, don't expect too much. Our drivers were informative and cared for our needs and whishes. The game drives were obviously an excitement. Lot's of animals, including lions, cheetas, rhinos and more. Be aware, that a game drive is not Disney Land. We met other groups, which expected a theater performance. Obviously, that is a stupidity and would totaly destroy the natural experience, in my opinion. My advise, bring good binoculars. If you are keen on pictures, bring a wide range tele lens. Roads in the NPs are very rough, which makes handling of a heavy camera difficult at times, thus don't miss out on bringing a light and small compact camera as well. Payment of the safari was a hastle, but that was not Jocky's fault. Surprisingly, my credit card did not work in Kenya. Thus bring the money cash or have your credit card unlocked for Kenya before departure. Jocky's stuff was in fact very helpful in order to resolve the problem. For a budget safari, excellent value for money. We were very satisfied and had a lot of fun.

5-Day Masai Mara-Nakuru-Naivasha-Joining Group Budget
5/5

We had a great experience, even beyond our expectation. Pros were the price, definitely the best value for money of any tour operators; the stays were great, especially at Nakuro. Food generally good, ok at the camp and fair enough along the way. Thanks to our driver, Raymond, we have seen all the animals in the parks, cheetas and rhinos included, even a leopard! Cons, just a bit of a confused organization. We didn't understand how the groups were made up, so we needed to travel to many camps to collect the people before entering the park. But that's just a minor, keep in mind you are there to have fun, so take it easy (hakuna matata). Summing up, it was marvelous.

Amazing experience.
5/5

We had a wonderful trip. I've lived in Tanzania for 20 years and have done a lot of travelling there, but this was my first time on safari in Kenya. The wildlife was amazing, we saw the big five and tons and tons of lions. The weather wasn't the greatest, but it was still a great trip. Our driver, Richard, was great, and we helped many other people who got stuck in the mud. Food was much better than expected. The tented accommodation was basic, but the other hotels were much better than expected. My only complaint was that we did not have hot water anywhere. They said they had it, but it never worked. We visited Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Hell's Gate. All of them were great in their own way. We paid an extra $5 per person to rent bikes in Hell's Gate, and it was a special experience cycling through a park. The walk through the gorge was also worth it. These were the only things we paid extra for, everything else was included, and the price was extremely fair. The trip was definitely beyond my expectations.

Excellent driver and guide and accommodation very good value for
5/5

Have just had an excellent 10 days safariing organised through Jocky. Evans (driver/guide) was fantastic - he drives safely and always managed to get us into wonderful positions for good photos. He managed to find all the animals and he has a great deal of knowledge about the animals (and birds). I will be booking again.

Wonderful adventure
5/5

We've had a great experience from the reservation with Minneh until the end everybody was professional and careful.
We enjoyed both safaris and found what we were looking for thanks to our guide even though the weather gave us some surprises on the road our super guide/driver James handled the situation like a boss and he always adapted the schedule to us as we were with two young kids. We are also thankful to the cooks who succeed to always prepare us good dishes despit our strict vegan diet, espacialy Mike in Amboseli who was always very careful. Concerning the camps, we prefered the Lenchada in Masai Mara as it was more comfortable(we slept so good!!) and a very nice and attentioned team.
For all thoses reasons we would like to say ASANTE SANA!! We would definitly reserve with you again if we come back to Kenya.

Terrible Experience
1/5

We had a 5 day safari tour with Jocky Tour. First two days were as it was on the program but when it was our 3rd day things started to change. Driver canceled our early game drive because he simply didn’t want to. When we complained he said we can discuss and never showed up (we didn’t even need to discuss because we already paid for the whole thing). We let it go for the sake of the other days because we only depend on that driver and we didn’t feel safe. Next day he wanted to keep our game drive short (it was till late afternoon from 7:30 am but he wanted to finish the game drive at 10:30 and transfer us to the other location). This time we didn’t want to let ot go and told him that we paid for this service and we want to stick to the program. He found it offensive and gave us attitude the rest of the trip. Last day we had a boat tour on the river and he said it wasn’t included and we said he should call the office he went against it first and then he called and let us to the boat ride. This is not how it should be. No one has to fight to get the value that they already paid for and plus receive bad attitude for it. If you can get the value out of the program it would be a nice budget safari tour try not to shop from the shops in Kenya they stop frequently because they are overpriced. (you can buy the same stuff im Tanzania for almost %20 of the price tags in Kenya). Overall I would go for another tour company next time for sure (with more reviews and higher ratings) and maybe pay a little more for it. Maybe thats when you don’t have to worry about if they will try to screw you somehow the next day.

Hi Salih we are very much Sorry for the inconveniences caused to you by your Jeep guide, we found this not professional at all.

From your dissatisfaction we conclude that it was all about the guide whom you and us know that he was not our company guide but an outsourced guide since you wanted to do the safari in a land-cruiser jeep other than our own safari minivans, even after 2 of you paying the 580$ each for 5 Days masai mara-Nakuru-Naivasha all inclusive in a luxury landcruiser jeep, the rate that any one else in the industry will tell you only suits joining group budget safari in Nissan safari van we find it not being too honest with us on many fronts, your pricing was for budget travel but your expectations and demands were for luxury even after elaborating to you.Going on to say 5 days in Tanzania will earn one a better safari and even cheaper price is ridiculous.

Though we were not in full control of the guide since he doesn't belong to us, we choose to take the blame for him not being professional enough in dealing with your many demands.

We highly apologize for all the inconveniences caused to you during your stay with the guide, and though we feel as a company we don't in any way deserve the rating since we deed all we had to do on our part only for you to insist on Landcruiser jeep on a safari nissan van budget
