Great guide, great experience
5/5

Great value for money! We had a really good driver and guide, David, who was able to drive to unique spots to see the amazing wildlife and was knowledgeable about the animals. Jocky yours always responded to communications in a timely manner so booking was a breeze. Accommodations were comfortable and food was good. Highly recommend

It was a wonderful experience!

The 3 Day Masai Mara adventure was perfect! It is not so expensive, it was not complicated, we had the best 3days of our life!

Our driver was david, he did everything he could to show us the big 5, he explained everything, answered every question and he was the main reason why it was so special. :)

Thanks to Jockey Tours for this beautiful adventure!

The review below is the personal opinion of Anon and not that of SafariBookings.
We had multiple issues
1/5

We would not book again with Jocky tours due to the following issues:

Pre tour:
- Communication - spoke to 3 different people to organise the tour, kept getting transferred to different phone numbers on Whatsapp

- Payment Issues- We tried to organise bank transfer (lower fees) and did not receive a reply until we followed up, when they told us it was then too late to do so. We were told certain payment methods attracted a 5% fee, this was incorrect for us.

- Airport pick up - the website and jocky emails say this is included. I was told on the day that this attracted a further 20 usd fee. I questioned this with 2 different people and it was eventually agreed it was included. We later were told our tour price had an extra 20 usd per person compared to others on the tour for airport pick up, I would suggest specifying not to include this in the price as Uber costed us <$10 USD.

Day 1: we waited in jeep for over an hour after paying - unsure what for. Delayed the afternoon game drive, possibly shortening it as other Jeeps left earlier.

Day 2: our guide/driver got stuck in mud twice for an hour each time, possibly further shortening game drive.

Day 3: the itinerary on the Jocky website and Safaribookings site says an early morning game drive - this did not occur. No game drive this day at all.

Day 4: guide told us to be ready by 7am - at 745 he was having breakfast. Jeep arrived at 8am. Guide's card did not work to pay park entry fees due to what he said was a bank issue - he asked us to pay and he would give us cash. Our cards did not work due to being unable to 2 factor authenticate, when asking guide about other options he raised his voice at us and I felt uncomfortable. We waited over 1 hour to get into the park.
We were initially told by the guide the boat ride was an extra 20 USD - I checked our itinerary which showed it was included and had to tell the guide this.
During game drives, the guide was speaking on his phone almost constantly on speaker phone. We were told to look out for animals while he did this and almost missed some rhinos. I was ignored when I asked a question as he was on his phone.

Day 5: the visit to the geothermal power plant and hot springs was not included - despite being in the park we were not given the option to do this. When we asked the guide, they said this was because some tour members had to go to the airport however they arrived there 5 hours early. We were not informed of this until after leaving the park.

Julius is one of the most experienced, knowledgeable and friendly tour guides I've encountered
5/5

Amazing tour, definitely once in a lifetime experience! Julius was our tour operator and I highly recommend him. He's extremely experienced and knowledgable and I'd hire him in a heartbeat whenever I go back again.

This was my first safari that I went to and it totally blew my expectations. I almost got tired of seeing elephants and lions we saw so many (almost ;) ). The value for money is insane and very worth it. Overall we did the 3 day 2 night safari, and saw giraffes, elephants, lions, hyenas, jackals, and all the ordinary herbivores in the area. Next time I'd love to see the other parks with rhino's.

I recommend doing the private tour if you can afford it, otherwise definitely recommend doing the shared tour with at least a jeep. The vans will have trouble navigating the park since theres a lot of spots cars can get stuck from the mud. We even got stuck a few times with a jeep, but thankfully the tour operators help each other out and we got out pretty quickly each time. We got stuck near a lion feeding and saw a lion pull on a the tug rope!

The tour operators also talk to each other to communicate where they saw each type of game, so you can be certain your probably not gonna miss out on much. If someone found a lion feeding, your tour operator will try to take you there.

Overall amazing experience and I'll be enjoying the memories from this safari for the rest of my life!

A marvelous experience with a great guide!
5/5

I had a wonderful time with Albert, who was kind, friendly and has a lot of knowledge about the safari. He showed us all around the Masai Mara and gave us plenty of time to take pictures of the animals.
I chose the Landcruiser trip and it was definitely worth the price.
The camp has hot shower, buffet style breakfast and dinner. Also the lunch they packed for us was good too!

Once in a lifetime experience made even better by knowledgable, eager guide
5/5

I did the 3 Days Masai Mara Group Joining. Of course the safari was amazing, but what made it even better was our guide, Khalifa. He is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about Masai Mara and its wildlife and extremely well-liked and well-known by the locals and park rangers. He doesn't follow the crowds, has good instincts for where the animals are, and is quite bold, which is how we got photos of the leopard jumping :) Can strongly recommend Jocky Tours & Safaris!

An amazing experience
5/5

The safari experience with this company is a safe, fun and complete choice. Perfect communication before completing the booking but also during the safari. The jeep is excellent, it has power outlets in every seat and wi-fi. It is cleaned daily after the end of the day. The hotels are all in excellent locations, all their employees are helpful and really friendly. On a safari, the most important thing is to have a guide who will make you feel familiar and comfortable with him, but also with the undoubtedly unprecedented environment in which you find yourself. John was our guide and he made the experience soar. We felt that he is a member of our company. Experienced guide, with photographic perception something which is very important. Respects all the rules of driving behavior that apply in the parks.

The driver was way above our expectations. Very experienced in safari and with photographic perception
5/5

Overall I have no complaints. First, we were picked up from the airport and even though our plane was delayed, the man who drove us to the office was very positive and pleasant. The people at the desk were helpful as well.
The tour guide we had on all days was, I believe, one of the most experienced there is, as he knew the parks very well and where to find the rarest animals, he explained everything to us with gusto, he had a photographic sense, very pleasant and friendly. The car had free wifi and power plugs.
From the first day on safari we achieved very impressive images. The guide knew exactly where to find the animals and we were able to easily see lions, cheetahs, giraffes and all the other animals of the Masai Mara park up close. The stay at the Masai Mara camp was very good. After two days there, we also had a perfect experience at Nakuru Park. Our guide could find the rhinos from far away and we could reach them first thing in the morning. Staying in Nakuru was very good in a hotel in town. The next few days in amboseli park were equally enjoyable, staying at the beautiful Manjaro camp with a perfect view of Kilimanjaro from our room, with elephants and giraffes right outside the camp and delicious food. In amboseli park we saw over 200 elephants among all others.

Excellent experience for six day safari in Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli. Our guide was excellent, answering any question we asked him and taking us to the best spots in the parks. The stay was good.
