Unforgettable!
Half-day trek to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park was a great and unforgettable experience! Bamboo Ecotours is a very serious company. Edisson is very responsive and communication was excellent at all times. I was greeted by the guide Amanya, and everything went as planned. I really recommend!!!

Amazing, Safe, Professional and an Adventure of a life time
I was so overwhelmed starting our research for our East Africa trip with literally hundreds of tour operators and guides. After weeks of research stumbled on 'Bamboo Eco Tours'. It didn't take long until we locked them in to take us from Rwanda to Uganda for Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi.
Our driver Hurbert was fab, drove safely and was a really lovely person.
The story of the company also resonated with us as we loved supporting local and people that care and help others and this company are centered around that.
The communication was the most impressive for us. We received replies within 24hours especially with a Africa Australia time zone. The information that they provided was extremely impressive and so helpful. They put together a very professional itinerary for us to download which was beautiful and included information about each place we were visiting and staying.
The four wheel drive was really lovely, spacious, we had no issues at all.
I honestly cannot recommend Bamboo Eco Tours more especially to take you Gorilla Trekking and other adventures.
Unforgettable tour made even better by our great guide, Amanya!
The tour was amazing and well-organized. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and communicative throughout. The experience itself was unforgettable! The 5-day experience we just enough for us. Would definitely recommend to book through this company. Plus the value paid was outstanding for what we got.

Edison was always prompt and polite when emailing and provided everything asked for.
For us going to Rwanda was a step into the unknown - But what an experience - Let’s start with the country so green and clean - Lovely to see smiling children as they walked to school. Lots of ticks - Now for the reason of the trip - The Gorilla trek was awesome and seem a lot of money - But having experienced would pay more to see these amazing creatures and no barriers - in hindsight we should have done the Chimps and Golden Moneys first - Then on to Abegera National Park- The boat trip on the lake is brilliant and we now wish it had been longer - On the trip around the park we were fortunate to see the big five during our six hour experience - The night before we had done a night game drive - These are always good. For us good value for money - Plus we saw Silverback and baby - Then a number of other Gorillas.

Great value for money.
Edison of Bamboo Ecotours is a nice person who will try to do his best to suit your needs. I went on a gorilla safari with my daughter and her fiancè. We loved the accomodation at the Da Vinci Lodge: large rooms, excellent cuisine and friendly staff. We chose to chase the Susan family of gorillas at VNP in Rwanda. It was a steep and hard climb worthy any single step. To look at a Silverback passing by staring at you from less than one meter is priceless.

Comfortable and comprehensive 7-day tour in Rwanda and Uganda
We booked a 7-day tour with Bamboo Ecotours starting and finishing in Kigali, covering most of Rwanda's top sights and activities, with a quick detour to Uganda for the gorilla tracking. Our tour included visits to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Volcanoes NP, Lake Kivu, Nyungwe NP, and Akagera NP; we also made a stop at the Genocide Memorial in Kigali. Our guide Godfrey made sure we had a comfortable tour, with a friendly attitude, in-depth knowledge about the countries, and catering to our needs. During our tour, we always felt safe with our guide. I believe Bamboo Ecotours offers the best value for money for this kind of tours, as we managed to see and do a lot for a reasonable budget. Also, although we chose to stay at budget accommodation, most of the lodges were really nice and felt more like mid-range. Communication with Bamboo Ecotours was also very easy, both pre-tour and after our stay.

Excellent Trip To A Beautiful Country
What a fantastic trip we had. From the communication and planning with Edison, tailored to our requirements. To our driver/guide Jackson, we felt in very safe hands and couldn’t have been treated any better. He had a great knowledge of the wildlife and explained what life was like in Rwanda. He was always on time and had a very friendly manner.
Rwanda is a very clean, lush and beautiful country. It was very interesting to see the hardworking locals and smiling kid’s faces on our travel.
I will never forget the day we came face to face with the mountain gorillas. The trek was about an hour long. We were able to get very close to these gentle giants. Such an amazing experience.

Amazing experience, and an outstanding value
We are so happy we did the "10-Day Uganda and Rwanda Gorilla Wildlife Safari" with Bamboo Ecotours. Our pre-trip planning with Edison (the company director) was the best communication we've ever experienced in 42 years of traveling. This tour included a lot of nice extras that were not included in similarly priced tours offered by other companies. Our guide Herbert was awesome as well. He was always attentive to our needs and made us feel like family. Most importantly of all, Herbert has amazingly sharp vision and his years of experience allows him to spot animals that we would never have seen on our own. We would not hesitate to recommend booking a tour with Bamboo Ecotours to our friends and family.

Amazing experience from start to finish
We had an amazing time with our guide Herbert! We had a great time every step of the way from the moment we were picked up. Hiking with the gorillas was UNREAL! We felt so lucky seeing them in their natural habitat.
Herbert was so helpful and accommodating. On our last day we wanted to hike with the golden monkeys but also needed to catch a flight that evening. Herbert made sure we were able to do both, and even made arrangements for us to have a quick shower after the trek at a nearby guesthouse.

An unforgettable experience
My partner and I had a trip of a lifetime thanks to Bamboo Ecotours. We did a 4 day tour involving a golden monkey trek at Volcanoes, and gorilla trekking at Bwindi.
Edison, the founder of the company, was exceptional when organising our tour - super quick with his responses, professional and attentive to our needs. He managed to provide us with an itinerary which suited our preferences, budget and was great value for money. We also had to book last minute but Edison was very flexible with the payment/refund policy.
Our guide Herbert was amazing - he was considerate, knowledgeable and skilful at driving! The roads in Uganda are no joke - super bumpy and muddy when wet. One of the most memorable times of our entire Africa trip was when on the morning of our gorilla trek, the one-way road which led to Bwindi was blocked by a broken down truck. With only centimetres to spare from the cliff's edge, Herbert safely and expertly did a U-turn and got us to the trek on time. He also made sure to contact the park so that even if we were late, we'd still get to do the trek.
Our accommodation at Mutanda Lake Resort was also a highlight. The views of the volcanoes in the background and the lake in the foreground will forever be etched in my memory.
What also sets Bamboo Ecotours apart is their commitment to supporting disadvantaged communities in the area who are overlooked by the tourism sector, by providing financial support and only hiring guides who come from these communities.
We highly recommend Bamboo Ecotours and will definitely be using them again when we're back in Uganda!
