They made my safari experience amazing !!
5/5

From the moment of pick up at the airport Milestone Safaris looked after me with such care. The lodge (Honey Badger) was a fabulous oasis of peace - wonderful rooms, food and pool and the gardens were fab. The safari they organised for me was EXACTLY what I had hoped for. The staff at the lodge, and driver/guide of my safari (George) were so caring and informed and helpful, you really felt cared for and at home. I would Highly highly recommend this young company to anyone

Incredible Experience - 6-day Kili summit & 3-day safari
5/5

Wow! We could not be more pleased with our experience with Milestone/Honey Badger. My husband and I were heading to Tanzania from the USA for our honeymoon with aspirations to do a first-class safari and Kilimanjaro summit on a reasonable budget. All of our expectations were surpassed thoroughly and we would recommend Milestone enthusiastically and wholeheartedly! A few specific notes:

- Kili: we chose the 6-day Machame Route hike and were led by Martin & David. They are such a special pair of leaders -- Martin in young, strategic, knows the mountain cold and is a great decision maker as we navigated the mountain. David, who I called "mayor of kili", knows absolutely everyone on the mountain from the caretakers to rescue teams to porters and other guides. He knows every single flower, view, history and he makes the hike a complete and total delight. Additionally - we had our camera on us - he's an amazingly talented photographer and gave us wedding-picture-level documentation of our trip which was totally priceless. We reached the summit successful on the 5th day and were out by the 6th. It was a transformational experience and we were lead by the expertise, professionalism and joyous personalities of our guides.

- Safari: perfect safari. Our guide was George who is excellent, a joy to be around and a great story-teller. We saw 7 rhinos, 24 lions, a cheetah, hundreds of elephants and hippos. We also - given we were on a budget but didn't quite want to camp (after Kili) - were set up with a great deal thanks to Amos who problem-solved with such ease how to make the safari work for us. We stayed at Farakah (?) lodge, a camping site/lodge nestled into a village near the entrance of Mayanara and it was perfect. Our chef, Rama, was one of the best too. His attention to detail -- adding a bit of fresh ginger to the tea water, for example -- was amazing. Top notch food!

- Honeybadger in general: we used honey badger as our home base and it felt like home. It was an amazingly special experience being there -- everything is curated with such care. On top of this, it is a thoughtful and powerful example of social enterprise at work -- using a lodge/travel company in a Moshi village as a catalyst for community development. We were so impressed from top to bottom -- the service was lovely, impeccable; the food was excellent (having traveled in the region before, my expectations were not too high re food, and I was super delighted to find great salads (beet+feta), creative pizzas, inventive cocktails at Honeybadger); the rooms are beautifully designed and simple; and the pool is unbeatable.

All in all: we couldn't rate this experience more highly or enthusiastically and wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for a carefully curated, delightful, community-inspired and driven environment to explore Tanzania's many wonders.

Brilliant safari
5/5

We booked our Milestones safari through Honey Badger Lodge (a fab place to stay). There were six of us plus Cornel our guide on a five day safari. Our trip was tailor made for us and we relied heavily on Milestones/Honey Badger to suggest areas to visit and places to stay. It was a fantastic experience - the lodges were varied (in places such as the Serengeti choice is limited) from a luxury lodge to a tented camp and all had their own charm, plus points and quirks. Apart from the food at the Serengeti lodge, everything was great and we would stay in any of the lodges again - Thank you Milestones! The actual safari was amazing, Cornel was a brilliant guide (with a great sense of humour) - he could spot a Leopard hidden in a tree at 100 yards (we needed binoculars!), we saw all of the big five as well as giraffes, monkeys, warthogs, hyena, elephants, Ostrich etc etc. On different occasions we were surrounded by lions and then by elephants - what an experience! Thank you Milestones, I can't recommend you or Honey Badger (Moshi) enough

Fantastic lodge, staff, food
5/5

A group of 12 of us climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in Sept 2013, and used honey badger lodge as our base in Moshi, plus used them to organise our 5 day climb up Mt Kilimanjaro via the marangu route. Everything from the minute we arrived at the airport was spot on, 100% satsifaction from all 12 in the group. The accommodation at honey badge lodge is superb, lovely rooms, fantastic swimming pool, and the food was very very good, especially the pizza. And with a cold kilimanjaro beer what more could you want.
The guides they provided were expectional, they made sure all 12 of us reached the summit. The food on the moaunitan was also great. We could not fault anything, from the pick up at the airport, the accommodation & food, teh guides and experts on the mountain. We would all recommend them 100%. So much so, there is a group of 31 of us climbing Kilimanjaro in October 2015, and we will be using the exact same blueprint as last time.

The best of Tanzania!
5/5

I was leading a mission trip to Tanzania, and wanted to end our work with a safari. I have traveled to Uganda many times, but this was my first in TZ, and since I was leading a group, I did a ton of research. I was booking our first night in TZ to stay at the Honey Badger and found out they also run Milestone Safaris. From my very first email, (and I think by the time of the safari there were about 30!) I felt totally comfortable dealing with Jenny and Joseph. They very patiently answered all of my questions, when you are in charge of taking other people it is a bit more stressful than just going yourself. I was very much at peace by the time we were ready for our safari.
Jenny and Joseph were very accommodating about meeting my team on the road back to Arusha. We had been working in south/west of the game parks, and didn't have to make the journey back to Arusha. When we arrived at our meeting spot "Jungle George" was there to greet us, and we quickly knew we were in good hands! I am not sure what I expected but I did not anticipate the high quality of the vehicle we would be traveling in for the next three days! I totally understand it does not always work out this way, but with in the first hour of our safari Tarangire, we saw a lion eating a zebra, two lions mating, and a parade of 16 elephants walked right across our path! There is no way they can promise sites like these, but it is clear that George is well liked among the other safari drivers, and other drivers were happy to share info with him about the location of the animals. We enjoyed a delicious boxed lunch that had been packed for us, overlooking the most beautiful vista. The first day of our safari went way above our expectations.
We spent the first night at Maramboi Tented Camp, first class service from the moment we pulled in! We were greeted with a cold drink and warm towel, while they transported our luggage to our tents. We were able to enjoy a refreshing swim while watching the sunset across the plains. Dinner was a delicious buffet that had lots of both western and African specifies. Our tent had a huge bathroom, dressing room, comfortable bed and spacious porch overlooking the plains. After a delicious breakfast, we were able to instruct the chef on the packed lunch we would take with us for the second day of our journey.
The second day took us to Ngorongor Crater. I have been blessed to have traveled much of the world, and this was truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen! We stopped at the top of the crater to enjoy the view, before starting the journey to the bottom of the crater. I did not think George would be able to top what we had seen the day before, but he surprised us yet again! We were able to watch a pride of 16 lions be taunted by a warthog, they must of just eaten, because they were not interested in eating him! We were able to get very close to many animals, especially the zebras that would walk right up to our vehicle.
We spent our second night at Endoro Lodge, a completely different experience from the tented camp but equally as beautiful! The service and food were excellent.
We left the Endoro Lodge the next morning with our packed lunches. I was so impressed that Jenny and Joseph would choose two completely different experiences for our overnight stay! We left in the morning for our return to Arusha, but not before George took us to a Massai village for a tour, and dance. It was a perfect end to a wonderful experience!
My team headed back to the States and I stayed for a couple more days at the Honey Badger Lodge, which was a perfect place to unwind from my mission! I can not recommend Milestone Safaris enough, they were wonderful from the first email, to the drop off at the airport.
