Guarantee for a great holiday
Via a Dutch travel agency, we (a Belgian family of 5) have been brought in contact with Caracal Tours & Safaris. Based on some trip examples, I made my own proposal of an exploration of North Tanzania with more safari and less beach. Marion of Caracal Tours & Safaris then returned with a great trip schedule taking my wishes into account and by adding some very promising extras (a.o. seeing the great wildebeest migration and the possibility to climb the Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano). Also the reservations of lodges must not have been easy because we were quite late (end of May for the trip in July) to plan this travel. It was so good to be in contact with such an experienced person.
Ben, co-owner of Caracal Tours & Safaris, was our driver and guide. A really kind man with great knowledge of the wildlife. Travelling with him gave us a holiday without any worries. Beside the common visited national parks, he was also familiar with the less known areas. Thanks to his experience and good eye for spotting animals, we have seen more kinds of animals than we ever expected to be able to see! I especially also appreciated his respect for the animals and nature in general.
So, I certainly recommend Caracal Tours & Safaris for its good experience, flexibility, and kind people.

Amazing people for your perfect safari experience
We booked our safari with 10 people at Caracal Tours & Safaris. 9 days of safari and 4 days at Zanzibar. The organisation was perfect. Marion arranged every small detail perfectly and was very responsive and thoughtful. The contact with Marion is very nice and she is very accessible and flexible. For example, 2 months prior to our journey we wanted to add one more person. Marion arranged every overnight stay and every journey to make the addition of our extra person possible.
The overnight stays were all fine, ranging from luxury to more of a glamping style in the middle of all the wildlife. Because of personal preferences we wanted to sleep in beds, which was taken care of very well by the organisation. Especially the overnights stays on the Serengeti in Gnu Migration Camp and Mawe Tented Lodge were an absolute wildlife experience. The atmosphere was very friendly and a cake got baked for the birthday of our daughter. We also got a cake, arranged by Marion, for the 35th anniversary of our wedding, a very nice surprise. In these camps, you are escorted to your tents at night where we had a nice meet & greet with a hyena and buffalo at approximately 10 meters. However, at no point we felt any fear, because of the great expertise of the camp crew.
Also the visit to the Masai was a very cool experience.
The structure of our journey was very good and we kept on seeing more and more impressive things. The expertise of the guides (Ben and Julius) was outstanding and they entertained us very well. They both speak English fluently and were very enthusiastic. The cars were fine and included a refrigerator for cold drinks. Moreover, the guides were very flexible to our preferences. The organisation and its' guides distinguished themselves in their respect for the animals and their nature. They sometimes chose to stay leave sooner at certain animals because of the extreme overcrowding (read: 2 lions, 20 cars). Of course they did this in consultation with us, but it did show their respect for nature.
All in all, we greatly advise Caracal Tours & Safaris to everyone who wishes an unforgettable journey in this amazing area. You will not regret your decision.

Excellent
We contact Marion for our wish to make a once in a lifetime experience.
We give her our wishes, wildlife, nature and meeting locals. We told her our budget and she proposed a beautiful trip.
Our guide Good Luck and Marion wait for us at the airport and next day
Good Luck was taking care of us for the next 10 days. He knows everything of the animals and plants we saw. He knows the right places to watch the animals and where to make a good photo. He was very kind and friendly. The variation between nature, animals and culture was perfect. Our lodges and tented camps where all perfect. All clean, good food and friendly staff. We had a beautiful time.
After 10 days they had arranged the flight, the transfers and hotels at Zanzibar and that was also more dan perfect.
Everything was excellent. We will definitely recommend Caracal!!
Specially thanks to Good Luck and Marion.

Fantastic Safari!
At the end of October / beginning of November I went on safari with Ben (one of the owners). It was a fantastic safari! Ben is very friendly and great tour company. He has an insanely good eye for spotting wildlife, which is of course a very nice characteristic when you are on safari!
Every day again it was a beautiful one with beautiful routes, landscapes and wildlife! The safari car was fine and did what it was supposed to do and Marion was a very nice help in planning the route! The chosen places to stay were also very nice and were actually all above expectations!
If you want to go on safari in Tanzania, definitely choose Caracal Safari because of their personal touch, expertise and beautiful routes and overnight stays!
Fantastic six day safari
In July 2017 we (a family of 4) went to Arusha. From there we wanted to visit some National Parks and so I contacted Caracal Tours & Safaris, a company that I had found on the internet. The contact was very pleasant. After we had submitted our wishes, Marion suggested a six day safari with a visit to Lake Manyara, Serengeti NP, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire NP. We chose to go camping (basic campsites, good, but sanitary facilities not always clean). Caracal arranged the camping gear for us: 2 man dome tents, field beds with extra mattresses, pillows and sleeping bags. We slept very well, although it was very cold at Simba campsite at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.
Ben was our guide/driver and Albert our cook. We really enjoyed our trip: the beautiful nature and so many animals, some of which we saw really close to the car! While driving, Ben spotted many different animals, often long before we saw them. He usually knew exactly which animals we saw and if he did not know, he looked it up in a book. We saw many big animals, but also smaller ones like rock hyraxes, African fish eagles and a dwarf mongoose. On route we could stand still as long as we wanted and had plenty of time to take pictures or simply enjoy the view. Exceptionally beautiful were the hunting lions, the cheetah with cubs and the sunrise over the Serengeti.
Our meals were fine as well. Every morning a good breakfast (toast, peanut butter, jam, honey, eggs, sausages, pancakes, fruit). In the afternoon sometimes a picnic, sometimes lunch at the campsite. And in the evening a nice meal with soup beforehand. (I'm not a lover of soup at all, but they were all delicious!) And as far as I know, all made on a single burner cooker!
Marion, Ben and Albert, thank you very much for this fantastic unforgettable trip.

Amazing safari with skilled and pleasant guides and amazing cook
We just returned from our 6 day safari with our guides Max and Temba and our chef Albert and truly had an amazing trip. We joined the trip with the 8 of us and saw all animals we hoped to see. Most impressive was the elephants crossing our paths and the lion group (>20 lions) with the cubs playing around. The guides paid the biggest respect to the animals and the nature and were able to bring us to amazing places spotting well hidden animals far before we could see them. They were also well equipped and trained to tell extensively about the animals and the whole ecosystems. Both guides were fluent in English. Chef Albert showed great creativity with cooking surprisingly good meals on a single gas pit.
Caracal responded almost instantly on our emails which was very pleasant. In addition they advised us to take 1 additional day serengeti which was a good choice as we had a very good game drive that day. Correspondence can be done in Dutch as well (in addition to English).
We can strongly recommend both the guides (Temba and Max), our chef (Albert) and the organisation.

honeymoon safari that blew our minds!
Just before our wedding my husband Kennedy told me we will have a safari honeymoon that he is planning! Honestly I was a little bit worried how can he pull that off. While I was anxious to know how will the safari be, where will we go and sleep, my husband was so relaxed and and excited. So he chose Caracal Tours and Safaris through Marion who is our good friend to organize our safari.
So on the day of safari Caracal Safaris picked us up with a bag of gifts as a newly weds, that was so beautiful and thoughtful of them. Max was our guide, a very nice person who constantly made sure that we are comfortable and enjoying our safari to Maramboi tented camp which is a very beautiful place where zebras, wild-beast and antelopes were around us while enjoying our surprise sunset dinner and Champagne from Caracal.
Then the next days we had a game drive to Tarangire and Manyara National Park where we saw a lot of animals including the King of the jungle himself Mr. Lion, Elephants and Buffalo. We enjoyed very beautiful views from the mountains and Lake Manyara. Max our guide made sure that we visited every corner of the national parks to see as many and different animals as possible. We learned so much more than we could have imagined about the animals, plants and the national parks in general.
My husband and I enjoyed every bit of our well organized honeymoon safari. It was everything the best honeymoon can be!
Good job Caracal Tours and Safaris and keep it up!
