Professional, knowledgeable and perfectly organised safari operator.
We had booked a 5 day safari with Benson and had a fantastic time.
Our driver/ guide was very knowledgeable, lots of fun, punctual and in one word fantastic. As you are spending so much time with your guide, it is important there is a click and you have someone who can adapt to all kinds of situations and people. We certainly were not disappointed in that area.
The whole family (+5) was actually sad saying goodbye to him.
The entire booking process with Benson has also been a pleasure, they are very responsive, helpful and professional.
To than find that their professionalism is also replicated in real life was a relief, the entire safari tour was flawless and extremely well organised.
We would certainly recommend Benson if you are seeking the right partner to organise your safari in Tanzania.

Perfect!
This safari was perfect in every way. Everyone at Benson Safaris is professional, reliable and responsive. Our driver, Richard, was excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable about wildlife behavior, plants, trees and everything else involving Tanzania. Their office assistant, Pendo, was very responsive during the months leading up to the tour and answered all of our questions. Benson himself came to our hotel on the last day in Arusha to say thank you and gave us a local gift. We chose this company based on the all of the positive reviews, and everyone was right. I highly recommend Benson Safaris.

Trip of a Lifetime
My experience with Benson was first rate from the moment I requested a quote till I was dropped off at the airport. I was a little leery dealing with a company a continent away but Pendo was fantastic answering all my questions and altering the itinerary (10 Day Complete Tanzania) to suit my needs and always responding within a day despite the time difference. I chose the mid-level accommodations and they were fantastic. I can't imagine how much better the luxury level could be. A few of the camps were in the parks and the animals, particularly lions, could be heard at night. Richard, our guide, was excellent. He found all I wanted to see and we were often very close to the action and he gave us all the time we wanted to view before moving on.
I can't recommend Benson enough to someone considering a Tanzanian adventure.

Absolutely Brilliant!
Thanks to Benson Safaris we had the most amazing and memorable Tanzanian experience. We chose to book with Benson because they are a locally owned and operated company, and from the booking process to the airport transfers, to our week spent with our exceptional guide, Kessy, they do a superb job. Our accommodations were first class, our favourite being Kubu Kubu in the Serengeti, and the meals were excellent, exceeding our expectations.
We couldn't have asked for a better guide. Kessy is experienced and very knowledgeable and always gave us all the time we wanted when there was something to see. He's a fun guy to spend a week with.
All the wildlife we saw was truly amazing, and the amount of wildlife staggering. What a privilege to see The Big Five, and spot a cheetah in the tall grass on the plains of the Serengeti. Also totally incredible and fascinating was witnessing the wildebeest migration. We also never imagined how impressive and beautiful the birds would be, and the landscape is unforgettable.
After four days of touring the National Parks, Tarangire, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, we took the less travelled route and headed north to Lake Natron where we hiked the active volcano Ol Doinyo Lengai with our Maasai guide. An absolutely memorable experience, but so steep, it took a lot longer to descend than it did to hike up!

Safari adventure
I thought overall this was an amazing experience and Benson helped to make it so. Taking the animals we saw out of the picture as you can never guarantee what you will or will not see, I was very very pleased. Benson customized our trip to what we wanted to do which was see animals. Richard our guide for the whole trip, stopped when we saw animals and allowed us all the time we wanted before moving on. He explained to us about the animals we were seeing and also answered many questions as we drove through each park. We asked for mid-level lodges and we could not imagine how there could be anything better as our lodges were clean, the beds were nice and we had a private bathroom. There was bottled water in each lodge for us to use. The food was outstanding. I definitely did not lose weight on this trip. Richard did a great job of finding the right location to park our Cruiser for the best view of the animals. We were amazed by the number of animals and how close they came to the Cruiser. Richard handled all of the paper work for entering the parks and the lodges and it was seamless for us. I would recommend using Benson to any of my friends or family.

A terrific experience
As women we wanted to travel by ourself in an African country. We were very skeptical as to whether Tanzania was the right choice.
We have written a request to the team of Benson Safaris Tanzania, which replied within 24h. Presumably we as clients have been exhausting because we have asked many questions: For the safety of the country, if we can travel as women by ourself, if it dangerous to go for safari as women and so on.
Today we can say that Tanzania is a truly peaceful and fun-loving country, poor as well. We have made 14 days safari and then flew to Zanzibar for 6 days.
In the 6 days Zanzibar we did a great spice farm tour and had a great yoga hotel in the north (Nungwi). Benson has chosen a wonderful hotel with 2x daily yoga offerings and meals right in front of our rooms.
Our guide on the safari was Joshua, who brought a lot of knowledge about bird species, land and animals. All our questions could be answered and he had great experiences from the wildlife and safaris, which he shared with us.
We found the people of Tanzania very eager to learn about our culture and country and we felt particularly comfortable being cooked African "Mama Lunch" for us from an African village woman.
All our prejudices about the country have not been confirmed, we felt safe, were always well accommodated and nicely received.
The team of Benson Safaris Tanzania we met in Arusha for a dinner: We wanted to take a "reparation" for our many questions and get to know the person behind the scenes. The staff is handpicked from Benson hiself and all are local people working for Benson Safaris Tanzana. Benson gave a special job and with it an opportunity for his life. That’s why we would always travel with a local owned company because they are knowledgeable for their country as well.
Our driver Zablon was a really authentic and true experience in Africa: He was funny and really friendly when he picked us from the airport and made the Arusha City Trip with us as well. Once you are in Arusha you should have a coffee in Africafé and some Mandasi as well

Benson exceeded our expectations!
Benson replied fast on our quote request and made a nice itinerary. He was very helpful to customize it to our wishes. When we arrived in Arusha he came to the hotel to meet us and discuss the tour in person with us.
The only thing was that we had to wait at the Ngorongoro Crater entrance because they did not receive the payment. It took us a bit more than 1 hour but we found out that it was not Bensons’s fault but from the administration of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority.
So in the end everything was perfectly well organized, from the hotels to the guides to the 4x4’s and the airport transfers.
He did exceed our expectations! Thanks Benson!

Unforgettable experience with river crossing and very friendly, competent guide.
We started our 5 day journey with a tour around the beautiful lake Manyara in Lake Manyara National Park. Here we saw our first baboons, pumbas and many birds e.g. flamingos. We then headed towards the Ngorongoro Crater where we encountered bigger wildlife like elephants and we were very fortunate to see a black rhino in the distance. The first evening we stayed at the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge with a breathtaking view over the crater. A very nice accommodation with great dinner and breakfast. The next day we had a very long drive to the north of the Serengeti. Along the way our guide Peter told us a lot about the park and the animals living in the park. Here we saw our first zebras, wildebeest, antelope, giraffes and lions. After a long drive we arrived at Mbugani Migration Camp in the dark. We were welcomed by the friendly staff of the camp with cold beverage and warm meal. It was a great experience to sleep in big tents where you can hear the Serengeti come to life at night. The next morning we woke up with a herd of zebras and elephants in front of our tent. After a nice breakfast we went for a day trip to the river Mara near the Kenyan border. On the way to the river we saw enormous herds with thousands of wildebeest and zebras. After waiting for a few hours at the river we we lucky and a large herd started crossing the river. A humbling experience. On the way back to the camp we had another surprise, a leopardess with her cubs. The cubs playing in the long grass while the mother was eating a wildebeest she stashed in a tree. The fourth day we had another beautiful game drive heading to our last destination, the Serengeti Tortilles Camp, where we saw buffalos and cheetahs. And while we we having a nice cold beer in the lounge tent a hyena walked through the camp! All in all the safari was an unforgettable experience.

Well organized
Everything was perfect. Peter was an attentive, knowledgeable guide. We particularly appreciated his respect for the animals and the environment -- and has eagle eye vision! We were very happy with our time with him and impressed with the quality of service with Benson, and all the hotels/camps that were lined up for us. Thank you very much! We will be sure to recommend your company to our friends and contacts.
