Great experience, great tour guide
All expectations met and exceeded. The tour guide was great and made you feel safe. lodging was very nice and price was right.
The extra activities where very over priced almost insulting. A one hour boat ride for $100 US.
Over all was great

Highly recommend Tekko Tours, everything was taken care of and made for a wonderful holiday.
We had an amazing African holiday that included a custom safari and beach holiday. Maggie was fabulous to work with and ensured all details of our trip were taken care of from pick up at the airport to drop off and everything in between. She was very quick to respond to any questions and ensured that our itinerary met our expectations. Anthony was our guide and he was fantastic! It was a very memorable trip and I would certainly use Tekko tours when we return to Kenya and I will recommend them to my family and friends.

Wonderful 9-day bucket list safari in Kenya
So I'm a female traveling solo and for the first time internationally. I e-mailed several tour companies asking a couple of questions about their safaris and safety being a female on her own. The first to respond was Maggie from Tekko. I did get other responses, but Maggie's e-mail really stuck out. She answered all of my questions and was very engaging. So I continued my correspondence with her. From there she helped me pick out the best safari for me and what kind of animals I wanted to see, activities I was interested, what kind of accommodations I was looking for and helped me create a safari within my budget. I researched all of the tented camps on trip advisor and was really happy with the ones she suggested. Also, having to pay for the trip internationally, I was having trouble with my bank accepting the charge. It took several days to finally get things to go through and Maggie was very patient and helped with instructions by e-mail whenever I had questions. Also what was great is when I landed in Nairobi, Maggie and Jackson were there at 10:00 at night to pick me up in a very crowded Nairobi airport and they dropped me off at a nice hotel nearby to get some rest and then Jackson was back again at 7:00 a.m. and off we went! Being a female alone in Kenya, I was very appreciative of their fantastic service.
What was really great and I didn't realize until I got there was I had my own driver and Land Cruiser to myself. I didn't have to share with any other groups. It was fantastic and so worth the money. I had read quite a few really great reviews about Jackson, one of the drivers, and was really hoping I would get him since I was by myself and I did! He was so friendly and knowledgeable. I couldn't have asked for a better guide!
Because it was a bucket list trip for me I really wanted to try and get as much in as I could, so I ended up doing 9 days, 5 parks. I might have been a little too ambitious, but ultimately it was quite an experience and I had a lot of fun. Started with Amboselli and stayed at the Kibo Safari Camp. Loved the tented camp. It was exactly what I thought it would be from my research on Trip Advisor. Got to see all of the really good animals at all of the parks. No disappointment with missing out on any animals! Going in November, the off season, there were no crowds and the camps were relatively empty. Weather was a little cloudy, but about 70 so I think it made for more animals being out and about.
Next drove 7 hours to the Ark Lodge at Aberdere National Park. Probably wouldn't do the driving from park to park again. Got quite car sick. I read about the roads being bumpy but that's an understatement. Would probably fly next time. Was only at the Ark for one night so didn't get to see much and it was very, very cold. On the way to the Ark, there was a leopard on the side of the road which made it a great experience. Got some really good pictures.
Next went to the Mt. Kenya Animal Conservancy. That was pretty cool, but it was raining so made it a quick visit. Next was Samburu National Reserve and stayed at the Samburu Ashnil Camp. That was a very nice tented camp. Loved it. Was there two nights and really enjoyed the staff and the food. Saw lots of great animals there as well.
Next was the Flamingo Hill Camp at Lake Nakuru. Was only there for one night, but really enjoyed it. And then the culmination was Maasai Mara National Reserve which did not disappoint. Was there two nights at the Osero Enrau Mara Camp. Loved it.
Next heading home stayed at Lake Naivasha for a night at the Naivasha Sopa Lodge which was quite elegant. It was so beautiful. Had a little trouble with the shower not getting hot but they changed rooms for me. On the way back to Nairobi stopped at the Giraffe Center, too. Just like the pictures on trip advisor, it was fun to be up close with the giraffes.
Fantastic bucket list trip. Lots of driving and always on the go, so not a lot of quiet time or relaxing. Next time might do just three parks, two nights each: Amboselli, Samburu and Maasai Mara!
A big thank you to Maggie and Jackson for a very memorable trip of a lifetime

Amazing experience and great professionals
We are a couple from Spain, and we travel to Kenya for 1 week. We didnt have much time to organize the trip and Maggie helped us a lot. She even change our itineray 1 day prior to the arrival due to some problems at the airport. The day we arrived to Nairobi we were suppose to go to Diani Beach. Maggie went to the airport and helped us book our flights and accommodation there (even though we didn't ask for it, but it was incredibility helpful). She was very proactive replying to all our emails and calls. Two days after we started the safari and we meet our guide (Stevan). We was super nice and helpful. He knew a lot of interesting topics, animals, culture,... He was really nice. The vehicle that we booked was a 10 seated open roof 4x4. It was clean and comfortable. The hotels we choose were amazing (highlighting the one in Masai Mara, Sarova Mara Game Park). We visited Masai Mara (2 days) and Nakuru (1day). Everything was really nice and I will definitely would book this incredible experience with them again. Thanks for making this trip a bit more amazing!

excellent tour of Kenya with Tekko tours
My experience with tekko tours has been really very satisfying.
The proposal of the tour by miss Maggie has been perfect for what we wanted, infacrt we had the opportunity to have a complet portray of Kenya, visiting 6 parks and having the possibility to reach all the differents habitats of the country.
Our guide driver Stephen was very professional and nice with us, we have always felt safe with him.
The quality of the accomodation was mixed, from outstanding to average; but compared to the price payed for the tour always in line with the expectations.
Food: always international food suitable for all.
We have travelled with children and everyhing was ok, maybe the transfers from one place to another were, some days, too long … but you cannot make in a different way.

Excellent service through the entire process
We could not be happier with the service that Maggie provided us with creating and revising our itinerary to our personal needs until it was perfect. William, our guide during the safari, did all he could to ensure we saw as many of the animals as possible including of course the big Five. Definitely recommend this company to anyone else.

14 Nights/13 Days Wildlife and Beach Holiday
Maggie was extremely helpful and attentive from my initial inquiry all the way to the end of our vacation. She answered all of our questions and also arranged our stay in Nairobi at the conclusion of our tour package. Our driver, Jackson, was very informative and knowledgable as well. He answered all of our questions and also provided with information about the National Parks we visited and the various animals we saw on our game drives. We were able to see the big 5! and were able to capture exceptional camera shots. Tekko Tours was very attentive from the our initial inquiry outside of Kenya and in Kenya upon arrival and departure. I would highly recommend Tekko Tours!

They were incredibly professional and well organised. It was truly a wonderful experience.
I contacted Tekko Tours 2 months prior to our travel and they sent us every detail including pick-ups, hotels, meals, safari programs and everything. Everything turned out to be exactly as they informed us in prior. There were no surprises. Our driver Jackson was very professional but warm and friendly. He knew all about the parks and all about the animals. He made our first safari and Africa experience an incredible one. I would definitely recommend Tekko Tours.

we don't recommend this company
we just done Safari with this company, and it was very bad experience:
we booked a Land cruiser, it was very very slow, and it has almost no power, when overtaking its very dangerous, and the driver need very long clearance distance to overtake (sometimes it takes 20 min waiting behind a big truck who is driving 30km/h).
Driver was not exceeding 50-55 Km/h on the highway, for 6-7 long driving hours everyday ( this is according to my accurate Garmin GPS)
the worst part of the trip is the driver himself, we don't feel comfortable at all with him, he speaks English well, but he doesn't want to talk or explain anything about the country or the trip, and the way he answers any question it will make you think 100 times before asking him again.
he complains every time we ask him to stop for toilet, and he claimed that there is no toilets all over the way, until we forced him to stop.
he never ever give any straight answer when asking for the distance or timing to arrive to the camp,
we drive daily 6-7 hours from park to park, whenever we ask him where are we, or how long we still need to arrive?he answer ( we are not far). this is so annoying, so we start asking the locals when we stop in the petrol stations, and he also complains, and he said ( stop asking them they will not know).
we been in many many countries with privet drivers, but nothing was like this.
the driver is very important in such a trip, because you are all the day with him inside the car, and its serious problem if they make you feel uncomfortable.

Posted on Sep 11, 2017Dear Yamen,
Thank you for taking time to share your experience and feedback on your recent safari tour with us. We regret to hear that our driver was not pleasant and could not answer your questions and that your experience with him made you NOT enjoy your safari. This is very unfortunate.
I would request you to contact us directly and look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back to experience the high standard of service we have become known for. I take this opportunity to thank you again for the feedback.
