Quite simply the best holiday of our lives. Dan was great , nothing too much trouble and he phoned once we were in kenya to make sure we had arrived safe before we set off with our driver on safari. Everything was perfect , the accommodation food game drives

Very communicative. Helpful, accessible and worked hard to provide my group with the best experience
Daniel, at Transtrek, organised a safari for me and my group (14 in total) to Kenya. He customised one of Transtrek's standard tours, increasing our number of days in the Samburu and Masai Mara.
We communicated from January to November almost weekly, to ensure everything was organised , down to the smallest detail (activities, celebrating one of the group's birthdays etc). Nothing was too much trouble. I was very happy with the level of communication and service from Daniel. And I felt that the tour was definitely good value for money.
Our 3 drivers were there at Nairobi Airport to greet us, when we arrived from the UK. And they looked after us for the whole time. there was alot of driving and game drives, which they handled well with good knowledge.
The tour was just as I had planned and the whole group enjoyed their safari immensely (some were new to Kenya and others had been on safari before).
I would definitely recommend Transtrek, as a company and would hope to use them again in the future!

The trip was “custom made” to fit our requirements.
The safari/visit was beyond our expectations. We especially loved the lake Nakuru (the diversity in this relatively small park was amazing. Moreover, the hotel was really nice; not over crowded, good food, and attentive staff… ) and Massai Mara. We loved the Bush Camp, once again very few tents were occupied, so it felt very private.. Naivasha was also nice, but the hotel was more like a ‘traditional’ resort (a very beautiful one though); so we were happy not to spend more than a night there. Our guide was also a super fit with a lot of experience and knowledhg. He did his best to find the best “spots”…

Friendly, efficient, and completelky understood what we were looking for.
My wife and I were organizing our own trip to Nairobi and Mombasa, but wanted to include some safari travel. I knew what I wanted - not rock bottom accommodation but equally not over expensive. I found all the information on the web-sites rather overwhelming, trip adviser reviews unreliable, and impossible to make decisions.
I liked the look of Transtrek safaris web-site and had a good telephone conversation with Daniel. He was clearly very knowledgeable (English but living in the country with his young family) , immediately understood what I was looking for, and made excellent proposals. I had already wanted to stay a couple of nights in a community run and very cheap rooms near one of the parks, and even though this was not on his usual list, that didn't worry him, and he made the complete booking to include them. An excellent driver and guide picked us up in Nairobi and accompanied us during our visit, and then drove us on to Mombasi.
I would throughly recommend Transtrek to anyone visiting Kenya for the first time, - and for a return visit!

Knowledgeable and helpful
Daniel really helped two complete novices navigate the enormous options of where to go and what to see. He tailored the experience to us perfectly.
Tony our guide was brilliant, nothing was too much effort and his knowledge seemingly endless.
I highly recommend this company

The entire experience was great - the guide, the animals, the campsite…
The preparation was very easy, and the service was door to door. Our guide, Toni, was great at knowing where the lions were napping, and the hippos bathing. He did not merely show us the animals, though. He shared so much information about Kenya and its culture. He was a perfect guide, in my opinion - to be highly recommended.

Our safari was simply perfect
After a long search for a Kenya safari we stumbled onto the Transtrek website and based on the excellent reviews sent off an email. On very short notice Daniel Francis put together a safari for us, for the dates we specified, taking into consideration all our wishes. We chose the Samburu Five and Big Five 10-day safari, which took us to five parks representing a varied range of landscapes and wildlife. We initially had some reservations about the fairly long drives between parks but soon realized the advantages of a much more flexible schedule and the opportunity to see the changing terrain, towns and villages.
It was our first safari and one of our best trips ever! The carefully chosen accommodations were all top-notch and our driver and guide, Peter, made sure we missed nothing – pointing out invisible birds and well-camouflaged animals while negotiating challenging terrain. A true professional, well liked by all the other guides, with an uncanny instinct for just where the animals were going to be, Peter was as enthusiastic as we were, and even ecstatic when he spotted a striped hyena for only the second time in his career!
We were amazingly lucky to find Transtrek and recommend them unreservedly – our safari was perfect down to the last detail (and very reasonably priced). Ten days went by in a blur and we’re looking forward to going back!

Very professional throughout the preparation and the safari itself and exceeded my hopes.
I had decided to treat myself to an exceptional retirement present and do something I'd wanted to do since childhood. Initially, I approached Transtrek based upon the reviews, here, and everything fell into place. There were numerous telephone, e-mail and WhatsApp exchanges with Daniel to plan an itinerary based upon his advice, onsite logistics and my wishes resulting in a 16 day tour to take in Tsavo West, Amboseli, the Aberdares, Samburu, Ol Pajeta, Lake Naivasha then two camps in the Masai Mara. A lot of driving between parks and conservancies but well worth it. Peter, the driver guide, was impeccable. Very flexible, always ahead of time for the game drives and somehow managed to spot and namle the wildlife while manoeuring the land cruiser across rugged terrain. There were some simply incredible moments. A family of cheetahs feeding on a kill, a leopard nursing her cub, lion cubs playing in the pride, a pair of maned males drinking at the river, crocodiles basking on the bank, elephants taking priority at a waterhole, a pair of ostrich with a dozen chicks in tow .... the list continues ... Excellent accommodation too, no hassles. Priceless memories.
