Outstanding Safari Experience - Would Use Them Again and Again
5/5

We only had a few days for safari after ten days of charity work. Wanted to make the most of it while we were on that side of the world. Daniel was very knowledgeable and helped us choose the right places to go and visit. Food was great, rooms were awesome, shower was hot (not the norm in Kenya). If you are lucky you will get Peter for a driver. He was very nice and was with us for the entire time. He also knew all of the local secrets. I would book with them again and I would definitely take my kids to where we went. Have fun!

Wonderful Safari Experience!
5/5

We just returned from a 14 day safari booked through Transtrek Safaris. They are one of many, many companies to choose from when booking a safari to Kenya. I sent a few emails to several companies, and Transtrek ended up being the one we felt most comfortable with. Daniel, the owner, replied quickly and professionally, making our choice easy. He laid out a plan for our itinerary, including suggested lodges and tents. After several changes and upgrades, we were booked. It was very helpful and comforting to be able to pay via credit card, rather than sending a cashier's check half-way around the world!

We spent one full day in Nairobi, during which we visited the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.....so worthwhile! The safari itself included Amboseli, Tsavo West, Tsavo East, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, and Masai Mara. Each park had it's own flavor and uniqueness. Our accommodations were perfect; mid-range to high-end, with the small tented camps being our preference over the lodges. We saw everything we were hoping to, even though unseasonably wet weather made some animals move to other areas. The bonus of traveling in February is the uncrowded roads and accommodations. There was not a game drive that something unexpected and marvelous did not happen!

Our driver, Peter, was there for us every minute. From our 11:30pm pickup in Nairboi, to dropoff at the airstrip in Masai Mara 14 days later, he never let us down. He was always ready with suggestions but entirely open to ideas from us. He is an extremely safe driver both in traffic and on rutted park roads. He knows them like the back of his hand. He also knows the game patterns and what can be found where, while also staying in touch with other drivers to make the experience the best it can be. Not only did we see the big 5, but more unusual game such as bat-earred fox and oryx kept us interested and engaged. Easy to talk to with a nice sense of humor, we were very happy with Peter as our driver/companion!

Daniel was in touch with Peter on and off during our safari to be sure all was going well, and even spoke with us on the last morning to suggest activities in Nairobi before our 8:30pm departure. We felt safe, secure, and taken care of! Transtrek did an outstanding job for us, and we would not hesitate recommending them. Thank you, Daniel!

An incredible tailored experience
5/5

My girlfriend and I are just back from a 12-day trip to Kenya which was organised by Daniel at Transtrek Safaris, and the service certainly exceeded our expectations.

Daniel had been helpful from the start, providing us with an initial itinerary and quote based on our requirements. We then worked together, via email and via Skype, to further tailor our itinerary to allow us to experience the best of Kenya and to fit within our budget. Daniel did not only take our requests but also provided guidance and advice based on his experience, and we are very happy that we trusted him.

We finally agreed on a packed itinerary which involved 9 days of safari (in Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Maasai Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo West) followed by 2 days of relaxation on Diani Beach near Mombasa.

The entire planning process was very smooth and pleasant.

Once in Kenya, we were taken very good care of from the moment we emerged from the airport, to the final drop-off on the last day. We did not have to worry about a thing other than enjoy our holiday. All the lodges/hotels that had been recommended by Daniel were amazing. Everything, from accommodation to meals, tours and internal flights, had been arranged as per our requests.

Peter, our guide/driver who stayed with us throughout our trip, was friendly, attentive, trustworthy and very professional - we had a great time with him and will truly miss him and his sense of humour! He is also a skilled spotter and a great driver, and made our experience even more special.

Our vehicle was very comfortable for the long drives, had ample space for storage (and even napping!) and was great for game viewing.

Finally, we had the pleasure to meet Daniel and his wife for dinner on our last day just before catching our flight back to the UK - it was great to share our experience with them and was a perfect conclusion to our trip.

Transtrek Safaris provided us with a customised, personal and friendly service which exceeded our expectations, and I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you so much for the experience of a lifetime!

Highly Recommend
5/5

What I really liked about Transtrek is their willingness to create a personalized and tailored experience. Daniel spent lots of time accommodating our every need and listening to our concerns. This company really does go out of their way to put clients first. We stayed in amazing lodges with great service and our guide was experienced and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the big variety of activities and scenery that Transtrek had planned for us- game drives, hikes, boat rides, beaches etc. I look forward to recommending Daniel and his team to anyone wishing to embark on a fabulous journey to Africa!

Wonderful Kenya safari
5/5

Our driver Richard and Dan who organised our trip were always helpful, and knowledgeable about the safari camps and the wildlife, the three camps we stayed in on our safari were all so different which we liked, all with delicious food, and lovely staff. We saw so many animals, and I can't wait to return to Kenya! We only had three nights to play with but I would advise staying longer if you can, as the distances between camps are so vast it's a long time to sit in a van each day so give yourself more time than us!

5/5

Me and my friend asked Transtrek Safaris to organize taylor made safari for us from Diani Beach to Nairobi taking in 3 Safari parks on the way. It was very well organized, we stayed in lovely lodges and safari camps, our guide/driver was available to us 24/7 to take us on morning and evening game drives and even adding a visit to Masai village. Thank you for the amazing time! Highly recommended!

Days full of excitement, wonderful views, friendly people and sense of total safety.
5/5

From the moment our guide collected us from the airport our only task was to enjoy the experience of seeing the animals and birds and landscape of Kenya. Every journey, all accommodation, comfort breaks, games drives and meals were arranged, just as we had asked them to be, with the vital addition of Transtrek's experience which ensured we had days of real wonder, while feeling relaxed and 'at home' in each situation. We saw hundreds of animals, each day was a new surprise and complete joy which I still feel . People reading this will have their own expectations of Kenya, if you are thinking of travelling to Africa Transtrek will work to make sure you have the experience you want and keep you safe while you do that. For me, seeing so many elephants, lions and cubs, leopards, and horse riding within touching range of giraffe and zebra were only some of great moments. We saw hundreds of animals and birds, many of them were kind enough to cross in front or behind our Jeep, totally ignoring us, due to the talent of our guide. Finally our guide Peter is a genuinely professional animal and bird spotter, he is patience, funny, completely trustworthy, a skilled driver and worked hard every day to make sure together we fulfilled our wishes, not just to see wildlife but to see Kenya. The world has many beautiful places to explore but we will be going back to Africa, with Transtek.

A much anticipated trip of a lifetime that exceeded all expectations
5/5

As two women in our fifties it had been a lifelong dream to travel to Africa. we choose Transtrek from safari bookings and from the first quote to our eventual departure the service was great.
Daniel Francis took our wish list and made it reality. we wanted to see as many different habitats on a two week safari. thanks to Daniel our trip was just what we had ordered a private tour that was planned around our needs on a daily basis. we felt very pampered
Our guide Peter pick us up from the Airport and was was with us on our safari which took us from Amboselli to Tsavo west and East and from lake Nakuru, Lake Navaisha to the Masai Mara.
I can only say that Peter was brilliant he was extremely knowledgeable and took pride and pleasure in showing us his beautiful country. we saw the big five and everything else which included lions in abundance - loved it thank you Peter for making this holiday very special
we stayed in a mixture of lodges and tented camps all of which provided excellent service and had views that were breathtaking. Highights for me were epiya Chepeau in Tsavo East , Sanctuary Farm in Lake Naviaisha.
and the Sopa lodge in Lake Nakuru which must have some of the best views in Kenya
I had always dreamed of visited Africa. I still do but this time the memories of a fabulous trip are with me
Thank you Daniel and your family for making us feel very welcome on our first night and for the fond fare well when we left.
i would defiantly recommend this company and look forward to travelling with transtrek in the future

What a great experience with a very good guide. Everything ran like clockwork
5/5

I booked the trip for my Dad's 60th surprise birthday present so I was in charge of all the arrangements. Daniel was great and really helped in changing the initial itinerary to suit our needs. We spend 9 days in Kenya, doing safaris in Amboseli, Tsavo West and Masai Mara. We had a day in between in Nairobi to break it up. Our driver Peter was excellent. he couldn't have been more friendly from the moment he picked us up from the airport. I'm very glad I took Daniels advice on board because there is a lot of travelling and over bumpy roads. Just trust him, he'll do well. peter's knowledge was excellent as well and his English very good. I also enjoyed his sense of humour. The campsites were fantastic, in particular the one in Nairobi. it may have been just because it was busier than the rest. Some of the places we stayed were very quiet and its a shame that Kenya's tourism has been hit since recent events. General observations were the staff in every camp were so amenable and friendly. The camps were of great standard and although you are in fact in a tent, it doesn't feel like that when you're in them. The only recommendation I would give is to take an extension lead if you have quite a bot of electrical equipment. There aren't that many available plugs and in many of the camps electric was only available for 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening. Honestly this does not cause any problem because it's a tiring holiday and you're ready for bed fairly early anyway. My head torch came in handy for reading. The beds were firm, which I liked and clean. There was one day where my Dad was unwell, again Peter came to the rescue and took us to a doctor, the staff at the hotel that day kept checking on my Dad to see if there was anything he needed whilst i was out which was really appreciated. Overall I couldn't recommend this experience, but don't think you're going to relax. It's busy and tiring but one of the most incredible things you will ever do. Thanks Daniel and Peter :-)

An Unparalleled Safari Trip!
5/5

This was a great family Holiday for my parents, my sister (21) & and myself (23). Definitely the best family holiday we've been on thus far! Aside from travelling from national park to national park Daniel had planed a few activities for us to do during the day such as, visiting the Maasai Mara tribe to see and learn about how they live, going to the David Sheldrick centre to see and touch the orphaned baby elephants, & going to the Giraffe Centre where we got to feed and pet the tallest land animals. It was clear to see that Daniel put together an excellent itinerary adding a bit of variation and novelty every other day during our stay. During our 14 day trip we visited Amboseli, Kilaguni, Lake Naivasha, & the Masai Mara. The game drives were amazing! We were lucky enough to see 4 of the big 5 game animals (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, & Elephant). Although not apart of the big 5 my personal favourite animal that we saw out in the Masai Mara was the Cheetah, they are just effortlessly cool.

Accommodation wise all the places we were booked into were spacious, clean, & aesthetically pleasing in their own ways. The accommodations at Kilaguni & Lake Naivasha in particular were exceptional, both had extraordinary and break taking views. The staff at all the Lodges were very friendly and helpful. We did have one incident whereby one of the the Lodges we were staying at (Maasai Mara) were not able to supply enough power for my mums oxygen mask which she needs at night for health reasons. After a quick phone call to Daniel, the manger of the lodge tended to the situation and hooked up an external generator to my parents room. My mum had also been complaining of her back problems from her previous operation creeping up again due to the bumpy ride. Again after talking to Daniel, a plane ticket to fly mum back from Maasai Mara to Nairobi was arranged which he kindly paid half of.

For the duration of our 14 day trip we were assigned the brilliant Richard, our Driver and tour guide. Because of him we got to see 4 of the big 5 animals, as well as numerous birds and mammals in the parks. Richard's knowledge of the wildlife and area was exceptional. It was rare to ask him a question about the wildlife or area that he couldn't answer.

All in all Transtrek provided us with an exceptional family holiday. The customer service provided was A+. Would definitely recommend them to others!

Myself and my family would like to personally thank Richard, Daniel, Wanjiku and co for a unforgettable holiday!
