Uncomplicated, professional and knowledgeable.
5/5

We contacted Pembury Tours initially to gather prices and ideas of what we could do for our first time in South Africa and organise this ourselves, but we were so impressed with Tammy and her passion and knowledge and grasp of what we wanted as a group and as individuals, we decided that to not use their service would be a mistake. There were originally 6 of us in the group unfortunately this changed to four just weeks before our departure date and without any complications our accommodations and various tours and excursions were amended accordingly with no fuss. From the moment we arrived in Cape Town and then our tours through the wine regions up in to Ostrich country and then on to the Garden Route, Cape L'Aghulas and back to Cape Town for a few days, our internal flights to the Kruger National Park for our Safaris the Lodges and Tours not a thing was missed out, we all quite simply had the bestest of times and this was soley due to Tammy at Pembury Tours.. THANK YOU!..the Steele party..

Perfect 2 week honeymoon.
5/5

We booked our 2 week honeymoon through Anya and from start to finish she was so kind, helpful and gave an all round excellent service - we couldn't recommend her highly enough.
We had a vague idea of a route through the Eastern Cape to Western Cape in mind but Anya recommended places to stay (and reasons why), activities to do and was on hand to answer any questions we had very quickly, including changing plans last minute. She even sorted extra bits for us such as arranging to have someone collect us in Johannesburg to help transfer us to our next flight, she recommended several places for NYE and booked a restaurant for us and even managed to get us an upgrade on our car.
Our luggage was lost from leaving London (through no fault, except the airline) but Anya made sure we were sorted and OK, even though she was on her own holiday outside of South Africa.
All of our accommodation was excellent (we're rating them all 5*) and the safari was simply incredible.
To be honest we were slightly anxious about booking with a local company, but we can't recommend the company and Anya highly enough.

Communication with Pembury tours was brilliant throughout the tour planning, it was tailor made to our specific needs whilst providing expert guidance on what to do and where to stay. Everything happened without a hitch providing us with a wonderful holiday experience. The safari at Lalibela was fantastic, the staff brilliant and the animals amazing.

Melanie is a receptive and informed travel agent who helped us come up with the perfect itinerary for our trip to southern Africa. Having never been to this region before, she ensured we had all the information we needed, managed our expectations and provided a high level of service for our trip.

Great Safari - Great atmosphere - Great Pembury
5/5

In a very short time and with a limited budget (for a safari), Tammy organisez us a beautiful trip in The Kruger NP. In one week, we visited tree very different places with each one its particularity and its own environment. We all loved them. As always with Tammy, the organization was perfect and we had nothing to do but take pleasure.

One word - Superb!
5/5

Everything from start to finish has quite simply been fantastic.
Melanie from Pembury Tours listened to our likes and dislikes and taylor-made our itinerary to suit. The result? A perfect blend of South African hospitality spread over 42 nights. It really couldn't have been better.
Moreover, it is refreshing to note that the fee to put all this together was more than reasonable. Melanie has been flawless throughout.

We looked for the best and came up with Pembury , they surpassed all expectations
5/5

When we looked for the best tour operators in Africa we came up with Pembury and in many of the reviews Tammy Harding was named. We are lucky to work with Tammy in planning our trip. Never have I ever come across someone so passionate and caring about what they do. Tammy was incredibly responsive to all my questions, and there were lots, she changed things whenever I had doubts and came up with what we thought was perfect. We travelled to Botswana, Vic Falls, Sabi Sands, Cape Town, Rovos rail and Johannesburg. From the minute we arrived at the airport to the moment we said goodbye it truly was exceptional. We were met at every stage by the most wonderful people to help us on our journey, every camp, hotel was out of this world and the food and hospitality second to none. We travelled with my elderly mother and it was her first trip to Africa. We all loved it so much that half way though our holiday we decided we wanted to go back and indeed called Tammy to start the plans for 2020. we have just now confirmed next years trip for 6 of us and I can't tell you how much we are looking forward to it because Tammy has truly gone above and beyond to help us achieve something magical. I had many ideas of what i wanted next year and we worked through every option, every country suggested, every flight connection to make sure we did not spend log times travelling. It was never too much effort.

So what I can say is if you want the best, go to the best and if you want perfection ask for Tammy

Heidi was amazing and worked to customize our Africa Trip.

The team at Pembury and Heidi Bedford especially took great care to plan out every detail of our trip. Once we landed in Cape Town every pick-up and drop off and tour was meticulously planned.

The best travel experience we have ever been on. Everything went like clockwork and was first rate.
5/5

We cannot give enough praise to Pembury, and in particular, Kerry, for arranging a spectacular, unforgettable tour package. We had started a few years back but had to put our plans on hold. When we were ready and able to commit, we gave a list of reserves and areas we wanted to visit.

Communication with Kerry was through email and it could not have been better. She was always very responsive and accommodating.

We asked for the Okavango Delta, Chobe, Victoria Falls, Kruger and Cape Town to be the basic itinerary. We also asked for not the best accommodations, but levels where we would have good safari experiences. We had no experience as to what we wanted and left the details to Pembury.

With those minimum guidelines, Kerry put together a phenomenal itinerary that far exceeded our expectations way beyond what we could have suggested ourselves.

Overall, Kerry planned the internal flights, all hotels and lodgings, driving transportation between reserves. We were greeted at each airport with a Pembury representative who made sure we were taken to our next lodging, told us what the itinerary was and basically took care of us. She also coordinated the international flights with me so I was able to make those reservations. Maybe that was more cost effective than Pembury doing it, but I'm not sure.

We were on our trip for 15 days, plus the main international flights. We did not have a concern for the entire time, and everything went like clockwork. Our tour representative or private driver was always there on time or earlier. When I say everything was prearranged, I'm not understating.

Now for the details, which we highly recommend.

The first safari lodge was at camp xakanaka in Botswana. We were there for three nights. A rustic, yet classy lodge, which was all inclusive with high tea at 3, and sundowner cocktails. It is within the Okavango Delta so our safaris could start early and end late. This may have been the best lodge we stayed at for the entire trip.

The next lodge was Chobe lodge, within the Chobe reserve. There are more elephants here plus other mammals that made the lodge an excellent experience.

Our next stop was Victoria falls, which is a fantastic waterfall, less so in dry season. If you have seen iguazu falls in Argentina, you may want to rethink going to Victoria falls.

Next was Idube lodge within the Sabi Sands reserve which is probably the second favorite lodge, with lots of mammal sightings.

The next lodge was in Kruger Reserve, staying in the Lukimbi Lodge for two nights. Kruger Reserve was not as spectacular as Chobe or Sabi Sands, but we got to see some pretty exotic cats and a rare southern black rhino.

We then spent the next three nights in the Commadore Hotel in Cape Town, where Kerry had arranged a private guide, Terrence, to pick us up at the airport, take us all around Cape Town and the outlying areas. Terrence was very knowledgeable and talkative and told us about the history, politics and socio-economics of the region. A very delightful, interesting and intellectual exchange.

When we take another African Safari, we will definitely be using Kerry and Pembury. For reference, we would cut out the tour of Victoria Falls. They were not that spectacular, with the water shortage and the logistics in getting there. We would have also eliminated Kruger since we had so much better experiences in the other regions' reserves. On second thought, I would not have changed a thing on this adventure. It was just perfect.

Thank You Kerry and Pembury.
