Experience of a lifetime
5/5

We chose Trek2Kili for a number of reasons. It was started locally by Azizi who was a porter and guide on the mountain so fully understands the needs of his clients and can offer constructive advice on routes and success rates. The company is also a member of KPAP and gives back to the community. Very few companies have all these characteristics. Planning was simple and well executed by Azizi. Our guides Rajabu and Elia were excellent. They were very attentive and managed any problems we had. When my sons ran into difficulty they were next to them helping them along. We had a food issue with one boy and the guides together with the chef came up with a meal plan which saved the day. They also briefed us every evening on the following days trekking and expectations. They also included us in the following days planning which was well appreciated. The porters were amazing. They carried out there tasks to perfection and at no stage did I ever had to worry about tents/toilet or meals. We all reached the summit thanks to our amazing guides. We were upset to say goodbye to all at the end as they had already started to feel like family. I would recommend this company without reservation to anyone who is thinking about climbing Kilimanjaro. Azizi is also welcome to give my contact email to anyone who wants to discuss our climb.

Creating Life Time Memories
5/5

The team from Trek2Kili that supported our trek to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro, taking the Machame Route, were quite simply superb. Each and every person had a smile on their faces, and they made the trek memorable. The health and safety of everyone in the group was looked after by the guides. The actual trip, climbing through the different habitats was stunning, and words cannot descibe the thrill of seeing the sunrise as we made our way to the summit.

Honeymoon Safari + Kili Climb with Trek2Kili
5/5

In September 2018, my husband and I went to Tanzania for our honeymoon. We hired the incredible Trek2Kili team for a spectacular 5-day safari (Serengeti, Ngorogoro, and Tarangire) followed by a 7-day climb of Kili on the Machame route. I cannot recommend this company enough! Azizi from Trek2Kili organized everything for us - all transport to and from the airport, our hotel in between our adventures, and of course, making sure we had DREAM TEAMS for both our Safari and Kili Climb experiences. Additionally, Trek2Kili is a certified Responsible Travel Company, working with KPAP (Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project) to ensure the fair and ethical treatment of the Kili team. Let me say, the porters and Kili team are magical and deserve every single extra dollar of your tips!! I could barely drag myself up that mountain let alone tents, tables, chairs, food, supplies, etc... you get the idea. Only book with companies who work with KPAP!

See my full review of both experiences below:

SAFARI:
Our safari driver, Josephat, was kind, funny and truly became our friend during our 5-day journey together. With his expertise and knowledge of the animals and the landscape, we saw The Big Five (!!) but more than that, we learned so much about every single animal and bird we encountered, and he took us to a small Maasai village so we could learn more about the people and explore their way of life. 'Jose' never tired of answering our hundreds of questions (literally, LOL), and was very passionate about sharing little bits of trivia and info about all of the animals. We got super lucky and even found a pride of 19 lions (yes - 19 my friends!), and our car was right in the middle of them. It was one of the most exhilarating experiences of our lives! We would most recommend focusing your time on Serengeti (our favourite) and the Ngorogoro crater game drive, as they are the most beautiful and we were the most lucky in terms of which animals we encountered. We HIGHLY recommend Josephat for your safari adventure with Trek2Kili - we miss you and your jokes already Jose!! :)

Trek2kili created a custom itinerary for us throughout the safari, and we stayed in a different lodging each night, which was also cool to experience. We stayed at KUBU KUBU Tented Lodge (HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Saw the sunrise over the Serengeti here as we ate breakfast, and its beauty brought tears to my eyes), Ang'Ata Tented Camp (very cool for a night if you want something mote rustic and with more of a real camping feel and to hear the animals walking through your camp *note, our hot shower consisted of a single delicate stream, so be warned that you really are roughing it here LOL*), SERENA LODGE NGORONGORO (definitely more of a luxury style hotel lodging, one of the best hot showers of my life, and incredible views into the crater) and Pembeni (extremely relaxing (napped like a lion in the sun here), more of a mix between a rustic and luxe feel).

We will always remember our Safari experience, and can safely say this was one of the best trips we have ever had!! Thank you Jose!

KILIMANJARO CLIMB - 7 DAY MACHAME ROUTE:
Our Kili climb - how to begin to describe such a wild experience? First I will say that this was the hardest thing I've ever done. But the longer I am away from the mountain and back at home, the more I miss the mountain and realize how deeply rewarding this accomplishment was. My husband successfully summited Kili on the Marangu (Coca-Cola) route 10 years ago, and convinced me that even I, the least outdoorsy certainly least mountaineering type I know, could also do it and would love it. Alas, we chose to climb this blasted mountain on our honeymoon, of all times. (Anyone who has already done a summit night will laugh that this was our honeymoon choice, ha). I would not have made it up this mountain without our incredible Trek2Kili team - that is for certain. Our 2 guides, Riojas (DJ RAJA!!) and Paulo, and the incredible team of porters who carried the majority of our gear and all of our camping equipment, our 'pilot' who made sure we had a clean lovely toilet tent, and our chef and waiter (yes, you have fresh hot meals cooked for you and served to you ON A MOUNTAIN...pretty amazing right?!) - you are the reason we summited Kili, injury-free, with smiles on our faces (except for Summit night, I can safely say I did not "smile at the rocks" on Summit night... LOL).

Raja and Paulo were two of the warmest, most caring and wonderful guides we could have ever asked for. When I was struggling, they did everything in their power to keep me moving. They sang to me, Raja played Bob Marley on his bluetooth speaker so I would focus on jammin' instead of on dropping into the deadly valley of rocks below should I take 1 misstep on The beloved 'Breakfast Wall'... They let us take as many rests and go as Pole Pole as we needed to, to make sure we achieved our goal of making it to summit. Despite struggling so much to make it to Stella on summit night, at the top, I definitely shed a couple tears and gave everyone huge hugs, thanking them from the bottom of my heart for helping me drag myself up... you helped me push myself past what I ever thought possible. AHSANTE SANA <3

I know I was fully crying as I said goodbye, I will never forget you and the Trek2Kili family, thank you for making our honeymoon so special and truly unforgettable.

For your next adventure in Tanzania - hire Trek2Kili <3

I highly recommend Trek2Kili for an incredible safari experience
5/5

Our safari experience with Trek2Kili as a large group of 15 was phenomenal! We were given exceptional service and shown around Tarangire National Park for two days. We saw not only a huge abundance of wildlife but also great scenery (sunset and sunrise). Our tour guides were so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. They were keen to explain the behaviours of the wildlife which were looking at and they gave us the opportunity to move on and remain in a certai spot whenever we pleased. I could not fault our experience with Trek2Kili and we would all love to do it over and over again!

TREK2KILI 7 days Machame Route, Awesome Experience!!!
5/5

Recently my two colleagues and I hiked Mount Kilimanjaro with the Trek2kili team in Moshi and the whole experience was amazing!!
After an extensive and expansive research we are so happy and lucky that we chose Trek2kili company to hike Mount Kilimanjaro. I would highly recommend this wonderful company based in Moshi and headed by the CEO Azizi. Azizi and his team took very good care of us the moment we landed at kilimanjaro airport. We never even at any moment had any doubts because Azizi took care of everything, name it and he had it done!. We were thoroughly impressed! The fact that they are members of KPAP was big plus, because it means that the porters were taken good care of and were paid minimum wages.
The guides Abou and Roger were the best guides we have ever had! To be very honest we all made it to the summit due to their professionalism, diligence, encouragement and genuine care. I give credit to them for our success. Cant thank them enough!
The whole team, the cook, "King" made amazing and delicious food through out our hike, served with a smile, Our waiter Hussein, very humble and always there every day to cater to our needs, Our private Toilet Porter " Pilot a.k.a Disel" carried our private toilet for the 7 days . . ( Highly recommend the private Toilet!!! Best money spent!! The public facilities on the mountain are unbearable!!!) and all the other 17 porters all did an amazing job. The singing, the dancing, the happy and positive atmosphere all played a huge part. A big big thank you!!
Will definitely come back again to do a safari with the trek2kili Team!!!!

Truly fantastic never felt better to be part of a team and never been so grateful for experts help.
5/5

Climbing Kilimanjaro for Dig Deep this year seemed a daunting task. The expertise and willingness to go the extra bit for each of our team from every single one of our guides and porters was incredible. Any slight struggle or concern we had, they were the first person to pick you up and make sure we are keeping high spirits. Aboo and the guys were fantastic and I'm forever grateful for the friends I have made in them. The song still rings around my head! Jambo!

Fantastic
5/5

Overall organisation was incredible. I felt welcomed and comfortable in the care of this company. I would happily return to do this trip again and when planning to return to Tanzania will be looking for this organisation. The only issue i had was the distribution of payment issues regarding tips and KPAP. Whilst i appreciate the tourism industry is vital in Africa as a whole the use of American economic policies in an already financially disadvantaged and abused country was disheartening. I believe the African people are being taken advantage of, and would do far better to take the company as a whole upon themselves without interference from 'charitable' third parties. Thank you to everyone who made my trip incredible.

Experience of a lifetime, would absolutely recommend!
5/5

I had an unbelievable time on safari with Trek2Kili!! Our guide, Johnson, was incredibly knowledgeable and went out of his way to make the trip special for us. We saw lots of animals and were also lucky enough to be shown lots of the birds and smaller animals that are usually ignored in favour of big game. Camping overnight in the national park and hearing lions right by us was also exhilarating and wonderful. The guides' passion for the conservation and protection of the incredible wildlife we were privileged to see during our time there absolutely shines through in everything they do and say.

My only regret is not getting to spend longer and I would recommend both the company and our guide to anyone.
