Impossible to imagine a better guide
5/5

We traveled from Cape town to Johannesburg were we slept one night so we could be picked up from our guide here. If coming from CT, I would probably recommend trying to get a flight directly to the kruger park if possible because: Johannesburg is not something worth visiting, and its a quite long drive from Jburg to kruger (6-7 hours). When we were in Johannesburg we stayed at the hotel the entire time because we were a bit afraid about the crime in the city.

Anyway, we got picked up by our guide at the hotel, had a nice drive towards the kruger park. On our way over there, we stopped and ate breakfast together with our guide. In fact, during our stay our guide cooked all our meals, we ate together and talked as friends. This made our relationship to our guide very strong, it didn't feel like a customer-client relationship, but a friendship. Our guide was also extremely knowledgeable about nature and animal life. He could explain us everything we wondered about, and even more!

We stayed at the Mopani camp in kruger, we tried booking in Skukuza but it wasn't any available accommodation. The mopani camp was great, with a very nice view over a big dam where we could spot some hippos.

During our drives and stay we spotted a LOT of elephants, which was great. We did not spot a lot of cats, except one leopard at our night drive. We missed the rhino and the lion from the big five.

In addition to "regular" day drive safari we had a night drive and a morning bush walk. I would highly recommend both of these. The morning bush walk consists of walking around with two armed guides, we then came very close to the animals which is super cool (and maybe a little bit scary). The night drive consists of driving around and lighting out in the bushes to see if we see any animal eyes lighting up in the reflection of the light. If we saw any eyes we told the driver to stop so we could have a closer look. It was on this drive we managed to spot a leopard right next to our car!

If you have the possibility to choose area I would try to book Skukuza because I hear the area down there have the best sightings of animals and a very high chance to spot the big five. This is what we will do if we come back, and we will then definitely book red africa safaris again, hopefully being guided by Jaco.

During this amazing experience I was being guided by an expert and taught a plethora of information!
5/5

Everything was exceptional. My daughter was the planner and she said she had great and immediate responses when she was trying to book. The trip itself was wonderful. Our guide, Jacko, was very knowledgeable and a man of integrity. He obviously loves the bush and wildlife and conveyed his enthusiasm to us.
I had always wanted to come to Africa and it was fabulous! I would definitely use Red Africa safaris again and recommend them highly!

Amazing from start to finish!
5/5

Red Africa Safaris was amazing start to finish. Amelia was prompt, fast and clear in her communications with us. They easily worked with us and gladly accommodated specific requests we made. Jaco, our guide, was timely, passionate and an all around great guy! He took us around to a variety of places and had tips and insights to our camping spots and Kruger park. The price was very reasonable and paying through their online site was safe and easy. I highly recommend Red Africa Safaris to anyone!

Amazing Safari Experience!
5/5

We had no idea what to expect on our safari, having never done anything like this before, but we were completely overwhelmed with what a great experience it was! From the get go, Amelia was incredibly responsive and helpful, putting together a great itinerary and making changes as needed for us when our dates shifted. The places and activities she put together for our trip were amazing. As for our guide, Jaco, I cannot say enough good things about him. It is hard to imagine there is anyone out there as knowledgeable about the wildlife, birds and plants we encountered on safari. We learned so much from him, it was really unbelievable! Also, the meals he prepared for us were delicious. When we had a hard time spotting elephants, he said he wouldn't leave Kruger until we found some, and we did! His enthusiasm and dedication really helped make the experience a once in a lifetime opportunity. I would recommend Red Africa to anyone considering a safari and I hope I get the chance to book with them again soon!

The safari was really good. There was good communication; the company always emailed us back within a day or so whenever we had questions. The service was excellent, we received everything which was promised plus more and the place we stayed in was very nice as well. The tour was very interesting; we had an excellent guide who respected us and our wishes, provided much information which was always interesting, gave us very good service in terms of food and such and did is utmost to ensure that we would get everything out of this safari as possible. Over all it was an awesome time!

Three days to Kruger Park
We were picked up in Johannesburg early in the morning and drove to the park. Once inside we started seeing many different plants and animals which our guide was very knowledgeable about them all. We stayed two nights at the Letaba Rest Camp from there we went on a morning bush walk and also a night drive which were both awesome. We had a great time on our first ever safari and if I would go again I would defiantly book with Red Africa Safaris.

Unforgettable experience - totally recommended for wildlife lovers!
5/5

All in all our experience with Red Africa Safaris went beyond expectations.

Already during the planing Amelia gave us many tips, answered many questions, and came up with a great schedule including all our wishes. We went on an 8-day tour traveling through the Panorama route, Krueger Park and Swaziland, which turned out to be the perfect package combining sight-seeing, wildlife and cultural experiences. We were offered views on fantastic landscapes, very close contact to wild animals (all big five and many many other fascinating species), and a glimpse of the unique Swazi culture. We had neat, very comfortable, and greatly located accommodations and got to taste our guide's (Jaco) delicious food which we mostly enjoyed outside under the South African sky. But what made the trip really special for us - indeed priceless - was Jaco's knowledge and contagious fascination for nature. Thanks to him we got to better appreciate the charm and crucial role of every bug and tree in the bush beyond the big five. We also greatly appreciate his efforts in informing us about and supporting conservation activities in SA and Swaziland.

Both before and during our trip we felt very well taken care of by a professional but still hearty team which seems to love what it's doing. It was indeed like traveling with a friend – many thanks for that, Jaco!

If we ever have the chance to come back (hopefully) we would for sure do our trip with Red Africa Safaris. There was nothing we were missing or would have to complain about. We highly recommend this company to anybody who wishes to explore African nature and wildlife.

Panorama Tour and Kruger Park 7 days with Jaco
5/5

This was the adventure of a lifetime. Amelia (Administration Manager) was fantastic, efficient and flexible with our requests of which camps to stay at and food requirements (diabetic and gluten free).
We chose the Panorama route to experience the countryside and special natural attractions before heading to Kruger National Park.

Our wonderful guide (Jaco) was so passionate and knowledgeable from the start to end of our trip. He went the extra mile to ensure our sightings of not only the Big 5 but other animals, birds, flora and more.
We were kept busy all the time with no time wasted sitting around the camps.
Jaco also provided us with great meal conversation along with healthy, yummy and appropriate food. The braii food was very tasty each night.
When we weren't on organised open vehicle drives, Jaco took us out in his closed vehicle for further adventures.
We (Mother and Daughter) loved this experience and now have a much better awareness of the animals, their behaviours, their impact on the environment and their survival skills.
And yes we sighted the Big 5!!! and much more!!
Thank you Jaco and Amelia for a personalised tour that exceeded our expectations AND value for money. We are recommending Red Africa Safaris to all our family and friends.
