Botswana and Victoria Falls...magical!
We had a wonderful 5 day 4 night experience with Hennie Becker of Fleet Foot Safaris in Vic Falls and Botswana. We had just come off a group tour of South Africa that was great, but to have the personal and individualized attention and guidance of Hennie for our last 5 days, was a whole new dimension to our trip.
Our accommodations were perfect and beautiful, staying at the Avani Falls in LIvingstone, Zambia and the Chobe Safari Lodge in Botswana. The food, service and accommodations were excellent and they offered the right ambience and and peaceful retreat after a long day of sightseeing and game drives.
Animals roamed the grounds of these resorts and one night in particular,
as we walked into the lobby of the Avani, there were 3 zebras that literally were milling about on the very outskirts of the lobby area. It was beautiful and almost surreal.
Hennie wanted us to see the Falls from the Zimbabwean side as well as Zambia, and it was well worth the additional $30 pp visa fee and walk over the bridge. The Falls were spectacular and we were fortunate to see them at a high water mark. The cruise on African Queen was a wonderful and a perfect activity for our first day in this area. Our subsequent game drives, and game cruise on the Chobe, provided plenty of animal viewing and Hennie provided interesting historical and background information on the places and things we saw. He has a passion for Africa and the bush country.
He was always willing to accommodate any interests or needs that we had and to offer his suggestions on what he thought we should (or shouldn't) spend our time and money on, etc. Eric, our driver, was also very nice and knowledgeable, efficient and helpful.
Our personal choice was more of a resort/ lodge experience, but Fleet Foot offers a variety of adventures in tented camping and even self drive tours throughout Africa for the more adventurous. And when speaking of adventures, if you can muster up a little courage to do the microflight over the Falls, it is a not to miss experience. Hennie recommended it and despite my trepidation, it was a trip highlight.
This trip was a bucket list item and lived up to and surpassed our expectations thanks to Fleet Foot and the magic of Africa. One side note, if you are willing to spend the extra $$$ for a 5 star experience, the Royal LIvingstone is elegant and lovely and at the very least, go over there for a drink and watch the sunset. It is adjacent to the 4 star Avani Falls and was a wonderful way to cap off our last night in Africa.
If Africa is in your future and I guess it would be if you're reading this review, I don't think you can go wrong with Fleet Foot. We certainly didn't and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hennie and his staff to anyone.

What a great Safari trip with Fleet Foot to Tanzania, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Kilimanjaro!!!
A Safari trip to Tanzania could not be complete if the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Kilimanjaro are not included! And going with Fleet Foot again was yet another great experience!
In March we went to Chobe and Victoria Falls with them. A review of this one has been posted before.
On this Safari we were just in time to witness the return of the herds crossing the Mara and Grumeti rivers. Hundreds of thousands of beasts crossed the crocodile invested rivers from the Mara and Kenya into the Serengeti Plains. Most of the safari group members were camping in luxury mobile camps, put up by Fleet Foot - and the 4x4 vehicles, with window seats for all, had pop-up roofs. We were privileged to watch the game from afar and was also able to get very close to the predators. The Ngorongoro Crater is just too wonderful for words. The variety of game staying there mostly all year, and adding the Big 5 we have witnessed, have made this all an outstanding memorable Safari.
From the Crater we moved to the Kilimanjaro Mountain - not to actually climb it - but to visit the Kilimanjaro National Park. There we have camped again at the foothills of the Kili and enjoyed long walks to the local markets and waterfalls in the area and even tried the mountain for a couple of meters… Fleet Foot also organised and booked our extension of the trip to Zanzibar for 4 days and reserved a handful of excursions like Stone Town, Spice Farm, water sports, i.e. scuba diving and Dolphin boat trips. It was unbelievable the way Hennie managed to handle everything so professionally, calm & collective all the way through! Right from the logistics to the end result - taking us physically to all these unknown areas, did all the bush cooking himself as well as the setting up and cleaning of the superb bush camps. On our return home this week we are already making plans for yet another safari with Hennie & Fleet Foot! This time Africa in it's fullness - and all along the Zambezi floodplains.

Amazing Victoria Falls with exhilarating excursions / Big Five Games drives to Chobe National Park
This was our third safari into Africa with Fleet Foot Safaris. Fleet Foot Safaris book our air flight tickets and did all reservations for the rest of our 4x4 trip through Moremi, Savuti, Chobe, Victoria Falls and further to Kariba and Mana Pools in Zimbabwe. We already have planned our next trip with Fleet Foot in Tanzania for our next road trip to the Serengeti in October.
Fleet Foot Safaris runs a bush camp on the Chobe River in the Chobe National Park. We spent 3 nights with Hennie Becker in the Chobe where he guided us through the Park in their 4x4 Toyota vehicles on exciting game drives. The game was plentiful, the bird life is beautiful and the green lush Zimbabwean Teaks and undergrowth is a delight at the end of the rainy season.
The outlay of the mobile bush camp under glorious trees with 3mx3m dome walk-in tents, warm water ablutions close by, give a lot of comfort in the wild. The stretcher beds with mattress, duvet and clean bed-linen were very comfortable and even better tan our own roof-top tents which we used the rest of the trip.
The baboons are just a nuisance and very noisy at night, but this is part of the bush experience! To be so close to the water with game all around, you are being offered a typical African experience. Add to this all meals, which were freshly prepared on open fire and a glass of South African wine, make one feel completely at home in the bush.
Hennie has shared stories and tales of his experiences in the bush and singing songs around the campfire brought back the nostalgia of years back when we were still young... Hennie is a very skilful guide, friend and a talented musician.
The guided boat cruise on the Chobe is - according to Hennie - the best in Africa and we wondered about it before we went on the safari. After the cruise we had to admit that we did not ever experience anything like this anywhere in Africa about the diversity and numbers of different game species and birding - let alone the elephants swimming across the mighty Chobe with only their trunks showing above the water as evidence of their absence. This surely is something not to be missed!
On a late afternoon game drive, we came across an elephant bull which took care of a friend or family member's dry bones. He just did not want us to come close by the road and also mock charged the vehicle several times. After some time, he discovered that we were not there to harm him, and as we passed, he only sounded his trumpet in acknowledgement of the fact that he is aware of us! Hennie was calm and relaxed at all times and his experience with wild in the bush put us at ease throughout.
We highly recommend Hennie Becker and Fleet Foot Safaris for any trip in Africa and we believe you will have the same story to tell. We wish Fleet Foot many happy years in Travel and we thank them for giving us such an unforgettable expierence in the bush.

Horrible Horrible Service from Hennie - Avoid at all cost!!
We booked a trip with Fleet Foot Safaris for 6D5N Vic Falls and Chobe National Park with Hennie last year in December. Once everything was finalised and payment was done promptly, there were delays in our vouchers and when the vouchers were given to us, we were told that the initial quote cannot be matched and there were reduction of activities given to us and no airport transfers for us!! It was explained to us that it was due to the changes we made earlier as there were supposed to be 3 person instead of 2. The initial plan was 3 of us and we were quoted with single sharing premium which doesn't make sense at all, we didnt want any trouble and wanted to make sure that was all the changes from the itinerary, Hennie confirmed that only reduction of 2 activities and no airport transfer. However, when we reached Chobe National Park, we were told from the resort that our lunches are not included as opposed to what's stated in the itinerary. We called Hennie and he told us he will only be back in office in a few days' time and by that time we will be finished with the trip and back home!!
Horrible horrible service from Hennie and please do not trust him on his final itinerary until you get all the vouchers. There are multiple shortchange and it was unfair to holidaygoers.

Posted on Mar 6, 2020This client warned us to put his review on Social media. This was because we refuse to pay for his lunch which was not included in the package. He changed the route and the amount of persons continuously. This was a honeymoon trip and when we advised that we do not cater for three adults in one room he was not happy. The client booked his own portion of the trip in Cape Town after he was given the full itinerary. After cancelling 66% of the tour by doing it himself with our itinerary, he wanted all services in place as if the full tour was paid for. This was unfortunately not possible.
