Amazing Safari with excellent service
5/5

We booked a 3-day 2-night Safari trip to Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro Crater and it was so amazing! We got to see elephants and girraffes and even lions!! We had an excellent driver/guide and went around in a very comfortable and well-equipped safari car. The camping site we stayed at was nice and there was even a pool. The food we were served was amazing. Will definitely book another trip with them.

Coffee Tour and Waterfall hike
5/5

This tour was beyond my expectation. More fun then I could have ever imagined. Made our own coffee right then and there. Sang songs while preparing, and then hiked to the waterfall. Stunning ...... Brought me to tears. The tour guide was the most lively, wonderful guy ever. I would suggest booking with Zuri Tours and safari for any of your travel needs. Zuri team is incredible, trustworthy, well trained and very helpful guides. Loved every second.

Hakuna Matata - No Worries
5/5

Usually i'm not really into writing reviews but in this case i just have to make an exception. Not only because the guys from Zuri Tours deserve it but because it might save others some trouble that we were up to.

First of all, the facts:
What did we do and how did it work?

We (my girlfriend and me) booked a 5 day joining Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. I established the contact via e-mail from germany which worked without any problems. Emmanuel always answered very fast and proficient and gave me all the information i requested.

On the day of our arrival we were picked up at the airport, as planned and were shuttled to our requested hostel. During the next 2 days we went through the last preparations for our trip but 2 big problems occured. On the one hand our joining Safari couldn't take place as planned because the father of the family which was meant to join us got sick so my girlfriend and me decided to switch to a private Safari for an additional extra charge.

The second way bigger problem was money. Not that we didn't have any we just couldn't get to it! Emmanuel had told me in advance to bring enough cash with me but since it was a quite queasy feeling to travel to a foreign country with such a big amount of cash we just didn't. So we only had a fraction of the sum with us but now we had to face the problem that it was quite hard to get any more from our bank account. In the bank you get only 800 USD per day and they charge you a fee of 4%! At the ATM you can only get 1,2 mio TZS (about 500 USD) per day IF it works! And often times they don't or they charge you a fee as well. Paying by credit card didn't work either and probably wouldn't have helped much since the state often charges a quite large fee on that. So there we were. It cost us quite some time and nerves but Emmanuel had great patience and was always there to support and help us and in the end we found a working solution. It would have been way easier to just take enough cash with us but next time we'll know better.

Back to the important part: The Safari!
Actually the description could be done very easy: Perfect!

But i guess the guys deserve it a little more detailed. Our group was set together out of 4 people. My girlfriend, our guide Josephat, our chef Moses and me. To make a long story short: The guys did an incredible job! Our guide not only maneuvred the jeep through the roughest terrain he also always had an eye for event the most hidden animals. But by that i don't wanna say that most of the animals were hidden! It's the other way round, e.g. elephants, leopards, cheetahs and lions were so close to us that we could have touched them. We took a big load of impressions with us and we'll be remembering them for a long time.

But even the greatest impressions are of no use when you are hungry. And that's where our chef Moses came into play. I'm a learned chef myself but i have no idea how he managed to prepare such great meals in these basic "kitchens". Everytime we arrived at a camp he welcomed us in his white chef uniform handing us a cold drink. And afterwards he served us some of the best food we came to taste during our 3 week long trip. We're no vegetarians but we had planned to stay away from meat and fish and keep strictly to "peel it boil it or forget it" but after quite a short time we decided to forget about that and we didn't have any problems at all! I have no idea how he did probably it's some kind of magic.
We slept in tents on camp beds with a mattress and i'd do the exact same thing again. I will always remember lying in our tent in the serengeti listening to the distant sounds of lions and hyenas. Incredible.

And with that i'd like to finish my review. It already sounds like i was paid for it. But i just can't help it the guys deserve it. We will always think back to these 5 incredible days.

Thank you so much Emmanuel (owner and organizer), Josephat (Guide) and Moses (chef).

Unique Personalised Day Tour
5/5

What an amazing experience!!.
I was lucky enough to have some free time during my trip to Tanzania and made contact with Emmanuel from Zuri Tours about options around Moshi and Arusha. Originally I was hoping to get on a Horse Riding Safari but this was unavailable for the day I was free. Speaking with Emmanuel, he took it upon himself to put together an itinerary for a full day experience.
Personally picked up from my hotel, we drove to Arusha and along the way learnt about tribal customs, traditions and discussed the local area. We visited the Arusha Masai Market for souvenirs then onto the Cultural Centre for lunch and time to explore the centre which is full of local art and artifacts.
After lunch went to visit the Snake Park and also experience Camel riding around a local village. The comparisons between African and colonial architecture and lifestyle was made evident when we visited the Rugby Club for a very relax afternoon beverage and an opportunity to reflect back on the excellent day.
Emmanuel was such a gracious host and was always happy to answer questions and share information about Tanzania and the African way of life. Highly recommended if you are wanting a more personalised and flexible tour option away from the large groups and operators. Thank you again for a great experience.

Arousha Day Tour
5/5

My friend and I had an amazing day in Arusha with Kevin and Allen. We drove from Kilimanjaro, the journey was smooth and the drive was made better with the views of the mountains along the way. Our first sight was a local market, Tengeru Market, only available on Wednesday and Saturday so we got lucky! We really enjoyed our second stop, Lake Duluti, it was absolutely stunning! There is also an option to go canoeing for only 10k per boat! Unfortunately we did not have the time as we were hungry and wanted to watch a movie. We had lunch at a beautiful and cosy restaurant in the centre of Arusha, called Meru House Inn Restaurant. The food was lovely, who knew cashew nuts and chicken go amazingly well together?! The Cinema Complex was also great and it was good to watch a movie in a cinema again as we have been in Tanzania for just over 5 weeks and missed watching movies!
Kevin and Allen were very attentive, taught us some facts whilst we were there, I.e. the clock tower in the centre is known as the heart of Africa as it's directly in between Cape Town and Cairo. We had a great time with them, thank you Zuri Tours and Safaris :)

Kilimanjaro day trek, great experience, great guide, great day out!
5/5

We took a day trip with Zuri to Kilimanjaro. We decided to just do a one day hike to Mandara huts and Maundi crater at Kilimanjaro as we did not have six days to spare to reach the summit! This operator was great. Kevin always emailed me back as soon as possible with any query I had.Kevin came to meet us at our hotel upon our arrival and answered any questions we had about the trek. We were collected from our hotel on the morning of the trip and transport to Kilimanjaro was good with Kevin. The lunch box was very nice. The only thing was that we needed to buy our own water containers at Kilimanjaro as you cannot bring plastic bottles up the mountain, so perhaps the operator could consider having these for clients next time. The day trek was great fun. Our tour guide, king William was amazing! He has climbed the mountain to the summit 159 times so I felt very safe climbing with him. He was so friendly and helpful and always asked to take pictures for us which was nice. We got to see the market in Moshi also, as Kevin drove us after Kilimanjaro. We should not have seen the centre of moshi otherwise. The price was good with Zuri and services was good. I would recommend them to everyone. Thanks Zurich for a great trip.

Spent a really enjoyable day at Kikuletwa Hot Springs with everything taken care of by Zuri.
5/5

I was recommended Zuri Tours and Safaris by a friend and went on an awesome day trip to Kikuletwa Hot Springs with them. The Springs were just beautiful, so clear and blue! It was a wonderfully relaxing day. Emmanuel and Alpha from Zuri took care of everything and made sure the day was really special. I would definitely use Zuri again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, well run safari in fabulous Tanzania.

Reasonable price, We would do it again and again.
5/5

Me and My Husband had a great time throughout the eight days Safari with Zuri Tours and Safaris, Godlove as our guide and Iddy as our cook, it was memorable experience ever.
Emmanuel was very quick in replying our emails from the very beginning and they offered us the best price than the other companies that I emailed.
We opted budget camping safari, everything went well beyond our expectations. The tents were nice and clean, all the camping gears were in good condition. We saw all the big five and other animals, We almost saw everything. After Safari they gave us a complimentary day trip to lake chala, What a nice place. All in all, I think they provide excellent and professional service at a very reasonable price. They made our experience in Tanzania hard to forget, they made us fall with Africa. We highly recommend them.

Flexible and reliable
4/5

As tanzania travellers having a few extra days to spend, we ran into Kevin of Zuri tours and safaris in Moshi. Kevin was able to arrange a day trip to the Kikuletwa hot springs near Moshi, then bring us to Arusha and even all the way to Dar es Salaam a few days later. Kevin is knowledgeable, resourceful and funny, and always checking if you're ok. He speaks perfect english, something you don't encounter at every local safari company. He knows how to make sure you enjoy, and even arranges local people to guide, while translating the swahili to english for you, so you really get to know a lot more about a place. Also, his company has very reasonable prices, just make sure to get a clear quote per person or for the whole group. Kevin will make sure there won't be any extra, hidden costs (which you absolutely don't always find around these parts). Would definitely make use of Kevin's services again.
