Absolutely Amazing
I had such an amazing time with Viva Safaris. I went for only 6 days and as a female solo traveler.
The airport pickup was a bit late but I never felt worried as there were others waiting with me, and I was in contact with Nyarai while waiting. The drive to the Safari lodge is long, but a was so beautiful that time flew by. Once we arrived at the lodge, we were given keys to our rooms and told to get ready for the first sunset game drive! I was so excited and they did not disappoint! I had the chance of riding with Hakuna Matata who made the experience wonderful! Within the first hour, we already saw Elephants up close, Lions, Hyenas, and so much more! Traveling alone was also really fun with this safari because I got to meet so many amazing people along the way. Each day was packed with fun adventures in the bushes, game drives, Kruger park visits, and the rehab center. I am studying zoology so seeing these beautiful animals in their natural habitat was really amazing. We learned about conservation, anti-poaching work, and information on each animal.
The room I stayed in was so perfect, with a working AC, windows everywhere, a clean bathroom, clothing space, a small couch, and a big bed. I slept great every night. I also want to shout out to Mama G, who was the cook, and prepared all of my meals vegetarian and amazingly. Some people were bothered that the power went out at night from 9-11 but I loved the adventure! You have to do everything with a positive mindset!

Very well organised, great accommodation, animals and birds and more galore
Husband and I were on our Silver Anniversary trip of a lifetime and the Safari experience did not disappoint. One night in a beautiful Lodge at Tremisana followed by our favourite Marc's Treehouse for the following nights as part of a 6 day Safari. Food was excellent and varied and gave a flavour of African Cooking. Mama D's corn fritters were so so delicious.
Our Treehouse had so much wildlife around it, it was a thrill to listen at night and morning and go quietly out to see what we had outside next!!
Only downside was the height of the Jeeps to get into - a more infirm person would have struggled and a mobile stepping aid would have made such a difference to the struggle especially when you are height challenged.
The trackers/guides/drivers were all good at their job and very informative but some were definitely better than others, allowing more time to take photos and actually listening to your requests. Victor and Smiley were excellent.
We made friends with so many people of all nationalities as the atmosphere lended itself to chat and mixing with others. All in all FAB.

A Perfect Safari !
We had an amazing time!
The organisation was simply just perfect from the first contact with Patti until the final drop off! It's all super well organized and we really appreciated that!
All of the staff working for Viva Safaris did a great job for us to have the best tour whatsoever at the Tremisana Lodge or during the transfers as well as on the safaris.
Again, a big thanks to all of them!
We definitely recommend Viva Safaris, and hopefully we will come back to see the two last "Big Five" we are missing :-) !!

Amazing safari experience- trip of a lifetime!
Viva Safaris and Tremisana Lodge…where do I start?
My friend Molly and I were picked up in Johannesburg on Friday and, beginning with our drivers George and Solly, every single staff member we met was beyond hospitable.
We chose to stay at Tremisana instead of moving to the Treehouse or other lodge after the first night, since we didn’t want to keep packing up and moving around on the trip. I’m happy with our decision. Tremisana is peaceful and cozy, with a small pool surrounded by lush greenery and 2-3 small dining/lounging areas. It definitely felt like Africa, with monkeys popping in, large trees and plants, and colorful artwork. The room was rustic, cozy, and very clean, thanks to Audrey.
Patti was kind and helped coordinate from the main office. Rai took amazing care of us from start to finish, and the rest of the staff was like a family. Every person knew who we were, what our schedule was each day, and went out of their way to provide a great experience. It was incredible to have home-cooked meals made by Mama D. Elvis prepared a braai meal fireside under the stars our first night. Uri accommodated us at Kruger and was a wealth of knowledge on the animal kingdom. Raymond determinedly off-roaded us to a couple of rhinos followed by a pride of lions on our night drive. And last, but definitely not least, Elias (aka Smiley, aka Halala, aka Hakuna Matata) made every excursion exciting and fun. We got up close and personal with elephants and hiked at sunrise to the water to find the hippos, but were always kept safe. Elias had a big personality, educating us while making everyone laugh. He definitely made the trip memorable.
Each day had at least a few hours of activities including local game drives, a tour of the animal rehabilitation center, and a day trip to Kruger National Park. We had some pool time in the sun between activities a couple days as well. I think our 4-night booking was absolutely perfect. Any less and you may not see all the animals you want or the “big five.” And you’re definitely tired after 4-5 days in the hot sun and a bumpy vehicle, though we were still sad to leave.
Unless you want a more expensive 5-star, more sheltered accommodation, I would recommend Tremisana Lodge and Viva Safaris to anyone. I am laid back and appreciative to be able to do things like this, but do have high expectations of my travel experiences. People who travel tend to take time off work and spend a lot of money and want to enjoy these trips. My friend and I were impressed with the organization, communication and daily processes so we didn’t have to worry about anything. Thank you to the company and staff for an unforgettable lifetime memory!
