Excellent service, well organized, great guides/drivers
I used Bruno Safaris for two excursions in September and October. The first was in September with a group of colleagues on an overnight trip to Amboseli National Park. Communications before the trip were excellent and Lawrence came personally to finalize arrangements the in the days before the excursion. Our driver for the safari was Abbu who was an excellent driver as well as guide. While in the park, it remained in constant contact with other drivers in the park to make sure we saw the best wildlife. For the overnight, we selected the Kibo Safari Camp option which was also great (accomodations and food -- see separate review). The excursion included a stop at the Carnivore Restaurant. After a short business trip to Madagascar, I had a long layover in Nairobi and worked with Lawrence for a half day excursion to the Blixen Museum, Giraffe Centre, and Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. Lawrence and a driver met me at the airport at 0700hr and I spent an enjoyable day at the sites. Overall, service and price are outstanding and I highly recommend Bruno Safaris.
Tips: pay the small extra charge to get the Land Cruiser 4x4 -- it's worth the small amount more.
Service and behaviour of Bruno Safari was disgusting and not professional.
We would like to inform you about some very irritating experiences we made while on safari with Bruno Safaris (http://www.brunosafaris.com/) in July 2014:
Our journey (July 14-20, 2014) including the chosen lodges in all the parks was planned and confirmed by Lawrence Kakai (representative of Bruno Safaris) in March 2014 (see details of this communication below). We paid the deposit as agreed and the rest in cash on arrival in Nairobi (USD 4600).
In the meantime however, our driver Joseph Nyaa had rebooked all the chosen and confirmed accommodation, replacing them with lodges that were of less, partly very poor, quality and presumably a lot cheaper. Of course, we were irritated and complained about the changes, but were given dubious reasons. We later learned, that the manager of all the new lodges was a friend of the driver.
In addition, one day of the Safari (we were meant to be driven to Lake Nakuru) was completely cancelled for reasons we did not understand either, so Bruno Safaris also saved the entrance fees for that park. All this was very disappointing and the numerous discussions with our very headstrong, sometimes even aggressive, driver lead to a lot of tedious situations.
After our return to Germany we contacted Bruno Safaris and at first Lawrence Kakai was very understanding, agreeing to a refund of part of the USD 4600 to our account. So far, nearly 2 months later, this money has not reached us and our numerous messages and questions to Bruno Safaris have remained without reply.
With a lot of tourists refraining from traveling to Kenya already - due to the political situation - unprofessional attitude like this, if not deceit, is very bad publicity for Kenya!

Great safari with Bruno

Excellent African Safari Experience ... every time!
I've now booked 3 safaris with Bruno Safaris and had a wonderful experience each and every time. The email communication setting up the booking is quick and easy. They are always on time, both at pick up and at drop off, which makes it easy to keep our schedule on track. The driver is knowledgeable about the animals making our safari trip more enjoyable and successful. The meals and accommodations are wonderful, especially the final lunch at The Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi. It's quite an experience in itself! I highly recommend Bruno Safaris!

very competent tour guide
We was in Kenya two weeks over the Christmas holidays. Albert our guide, we had an absolutely knowledgeable tour guide. The planning and execution of safaris was absolutely perfect. Only one lodge, we has a small Problem by booking, but these were dispelled during the tour.
Overall a wonderful holiday. Thank you

Last minute trip
While on business travel to Nairobi, I had an unexpected free day come up. I called Bruno Safaris late on a weekday night and we were on the road by 5 AM that next morning. Incredibly responsive staff and they picked us up from the hotel right when they said they would, less than 8 hours after we called. Driver was great and knew all the spots to go to. The photo safari was excellent!

The best time of our life.
We have known Bruno for 10 years and he is a rare bread among Kenyan Traders/businessmen. Honest, fare and goes to extreme lengths to offer exactly what we wanted. Traditional sited and tented camps, all the big game, fantastic food and all within budget. My wife and I have made plans to visit Kenya again next year for our 40th wedding anniversary and will book with Bruno to include the Balloon ride with champagne breakfast. Good safari
Bruno safaris was quick to reply to email. They made a good itinerary (also for a good price). The lodges were really nice. Our driver was Lennart, he was a good driver and guide, with a lot of knowledge on the different animals and birds. Unfortunately we had some rain, causing the animals to disappear a bit. We did not see as many as in Tanzania. But Amboselli and especially Tsavo West have really nice scenery.

Great choice for Kenya safari
There are a lot of safari companies to choose from in Kenya. I contacted several tour operators, and decided to go with Bruno Safaris and Tours on a short safari visiting the Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, and Lake Nakuru. Lawrence was very responsive and answered emails quickly and was flexible enough to work with my schedule and budget. My experienced driver-guide Migwi was very familiar with all the parks we visited, spoke good English and really made sure I got to see a wide variety of animals. The included meals were delicious, both at the lodges and also at the Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi on my final night. Overall, a positive safari experience with a reliable safari operator.
