Grassrootz Adventures is truly extraordinary in every necessary aspect of delivery of its product.
Grassrootz Adventures provided an excellent comprehensive tour of Uganda. The accommodations, food and tour contents were incredible throughout my 16 day journey. Our guide Emmy was professional, attentive and knowledgeable. Both the chimpanzee and gorilla habituation programs were well worth it since they brought me close to the gentle giants who share so much of our DNA.
I strongly recommend Grassrootz to anyone striving for wonderful service, value for money and most of all reliability and safety. There is no better way to explore "the pearl of Africa" than with Grassrootz.

Very professional tour operator and guide!
We organized a 10-day trip to Uganda including Gorilla and Chimps tracking. We chose Grassrootz based on the advice of a friend who had already travelled with them. Trip was organized by Sander, who was always very responsive despite the last minute request (he developed 5 or 6 different options in few days) and everything ended up to be very well organized. Our guide Amos was great, he was reliable, supportive and flexible also when we faced some challenges and had to reshuffle the travel plan on the go. Price we paid was lower and communication was easier and faster than it usually is when you have intermediaries in between. I would definitely recommend Grassrootz for a trip to Uganda!

An unforgettable experience with Grassrootz!
Grassrootz was recommended by a colleague that had previously used them for their visit to Uganda and what a brilliant recommendation it was!
From beginning to end, Sander and team were a joy to deal with.
Utterly professional in all elements - communication was clear, quick and most importantly, factual.
They were able to tailor / personalize our trip itinerary to exactly what we wanted and it more than exceeded our expectations.
Accommodation was as described, infact, Treetops Turaco was unbelievably good and one that has to be seen to be believed.
Our driver / guide Emmy was brilliant.
Very knowledgeable, very passionate and not at all overbearing.
If you are looking to experience the best that Uganda has to offer then we highly recommend Grassrootz.

Customer focused while supporting local enterprise
Just returned from an amazing trip with my sons (16 and 17) and husband. Grassroots made everything so easy from start to finish. From the first email enquiring about types of trip to being dropped off at our final destination, everything was organised, efficient and with maximum enjoyment for us at the forefront of their minds.
All the accommodation that we stayed in exceeding our expectations. The rooms, the food, the welcome, the facilities, the location were all wonderful.
The activities that had been booked for us, were all totally awesome. Sometimes, we got the feeling that there was some ‘African’ hiccups but these were sorted without any worries being put on us.
Moses, our guide, was just brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He added surprise extra activities when he saw that time allowed. He fitted in with our family so well and we all loved him. Some of the days involved long, hard driving but he didn’t seem to tire, and just loved showing off his country. In game parks, he never gave up trying to hunt for every type of animal and was very successful! He was genuinely concerned when I got a bit of a dodgy stomach and really gave good advice to help me get over it quickly without missing out on any of our plans. He gave my boys some advice on where to do safe runs (they are runners) wherever we were, and even had a go himself! Keep running Moses…xxx
The country is just beautiful, the people are beautiful and Grassroots made it such a memorable holiday. My boys loved their first experience of Africa and will definitely be back.

An excellent grassrootz adventure in Uganda for our family
Grassrootz organized the holiday of a lifetime for us
It starts at the basis: everything was well arranged. Never any ambiguities, no nasty surprises. all information was correct. And still we were flexible during the trip to make changes along the way, as our wishes continued to develop.
And it was really grassrootz too; much 'close to the people' and no tourist traps.
Excellent driver/guide/fixer Bob who knew the right places everywhere and managed to spot all the wildlife (lions, leopards, elephants, hyenas, hippos etc.) for us, and was often faster than the rangers in the park. He was also able to explain a lot about the country, the Ugandese culture and it's nature.
Because of this, we were able to let go of everything and thoroughly enjoy the trip to Uganda with our family (2 adults, 3 teenagers), we
would book through Grassrootz again in a heartbeat.

Experience of a lifetime in Uganda!
Our family chose the 12 day trip to Uganda and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. Our guide, Paul, was extremely knowledgeable about all of the wildlife we encountered as well as about the country of Uganda. We learned so much! Fortunately we were able to see every animal possible including elephants, giraffes, zebras, leopards, hyenas, hippos, cape buffalo, crocodiles, chimpanzees, gorillas, various species of monkeys, antelopes, water bucks, a green mamba and more! We saw the rhinos in their sanctuary. We were so lucky to see all of the animals very close by. We did bring a camera with a zoom lens and binoculars which we used at the first sight of the animals, but ended up not needing either as we would end up very close to them. We opted to go on the gorilla trekking experience which was more physically demanding than we anticipated but well worth it. We came across three gorilla families and saw several silverbacks and also a baby gorilla. The weather was nice, not too hot, for the most part and three of the lodges we chose had beautiful pools. Of all of the great places we stayed, Turaco Treetops was our favorite. It was very modern and located in a beautiful setting. There were quite long drives between national parks although we got to witness the daily lives of the people of Uganda. It was a trip of a lifetime we will never forget! ❤️

Emmy was very adept at doing what ever it takes for us to have the best experience.
Our tour was packed full of adventure. There was always something amazing to see. The accommodations were clean and the service was exceptional. All the guides were so educated on the animals and locations, as well as eggar to answer any questions. Grassrootz Adventures tour package took care of all our needs, we only paid for gratuity. Sander Van Zanten arranged our entire package to suit our needs and Emmy our driver would stop at nothing to be sure we were well taken care of.
I have recommended Grassrootz Adventure to all my friends.

Absolutely amazing experience! we did 3 day gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. the booking process was really easy and straightforward I reached out to Sander via WhatsApp then paid and deposit then paid then outstanding balance a few weeks later via international bank transfer. once we arrived in Uganda - Entebbe we were picked up by Moses and driven to Bwindi which takes around 11 hrs the roads are really dusty so be prepared the route is scenic so you won't get bored! mosses stops as many times as you like for toilet and coffee breaks etc! once we got to Bwindi we got a free upgrade in the lodge we were staying in!!! BONUS!! perfect the place was amazing right on the edge of the forest with amazing views! Moses was such a lovely guy extremely attentive and knowledgeable we could not have wished for a nicer guide! sop THANK YOU MOSES you're amazing!!! now to the gorilla trek! it was amazing !!! everything we had wished for!!! one the trip was complete was staying another night then drove back the next day to Entebbe, if your thinking of booking an excursion with Grassrootz DO IT!!! you won't be disappointed Uganda is such a beautiful country!! we will deffo be back!!! 100% recommend
Had a fantastic 15-day trip through Uganda, which was perfectly organized by Sander and with a very pleasant guide Bob. After some research we ended up at Sander's company Grassrootz and we were very enthusiastic from the very first moment. Because Sander lived in Uganda and works with local partners, he has all the expertise to put together a great trip and he is also very accessible by telephone. Together we have been able to put together a program that fulfilled all our wishes. Everything was arranged down to the last detail with beautiful lodges, good food, pleasant guide, you name it. It was also communicated everywhere that it was our honeymoon, so in several places we were surprised with a nice surprise. Our guide Bob was especially good at what you look for in a guide, reliable in traffic, friendly, many connections and continuously concerned with whether our interests were being prioritized. All in all, a beautiful country to visit with a variety of nature, animals and culture, and we can 100% recommend this company to anyone who would like to make an impressive trip through Uganda in a safe and comfortable way!

Customer-focussed, well organised and providing good value for money
What started with a gorilla and chimp trekking holiday, was expanded to a fun-packed 18-day trip (thanks to Sander's personal involvement), which delivered all the way through. We were very impressed with our accommodation throughout, both in terms of quality and cleanliness, but also the locations. Visiting the primates was absolutely fantastic, of course, but we also enjoyed the game drives in particular in Murchison and Mburo NP, and the Carnivore-project led game drive to see the lions in QENP. Barnice was our driver guide, who safely navigated us around the country and helped to add relevant excursions as we went along. Grassrootz is definitely customer focussed, which was perfectly demonstrated by both Barnice and Sander who helped us overcome some difficulty we had after the holiday had ended. Thanks again. If you want to go to Uganda, make sure you go with Grassrootz!
