Amazing, helpful, safe, informative
I did a three day tour with grassrootz in uganda to see the gorrillas! They were absolutely amazing. My tour guides Lamson and Nelco were so sweet, helpful, full of knowledge and great friends! I'm still in contact with then! I booked it with Sanderson and he helped me every step of the way, including what to wear, essential things to bring, had everything arranged all I had to do is get off the plane and everything was organised to perfection for me! The whole team were amazing! I will definitely be returning to uganda and using this company in the future to see what else uganda has to offer! Made the whole trip so enjoyable when I didn't have to worry about a thing! Thank you sooo much for all your help!

Topnotch for travel in Africa
Visiting Uganda was an important point on our African bucket list and our fifth visit to the continent. As a family of 3 we traveled for 17 days, visiting most of the countries highlights. The number of exclamation marks and positive descriptions would fill this page and would be totally unnecessary - just go, don't miss it. Uganda is different w.r.t. the other countries we have visited (SA, NAM, BOT, TZ, ZIM). In comparison, tourism infrastructure and standards are still developing. So at times you still need a Hakuna Matata attitude. As for our tour we were glad we booked with an experienced tour operator like Grassrootz and did not do it as a self drive (as in NAM and BOT). Grassrootz, that is Sander initially, and especially Paul, our driver-guide, kept things going very smoothly and efficient. All the usual admin hassle (e.g. choice of great lodges- Turaco Treetops excellent!, activities and park permits) and other travel issues (e.g. navigating the car through Kampala traffic, long driving hours) which tend to taint the experience, were taken care of. Our special thanks goes out to Paul for being a real master at his profession: positive attitude, knowledgeable, humorous, sensitive to client needs (Germans tend to be difficult at times), good driving/spotting etc. and always on top of things. To sum it up: Anytime again with Paul and Sander/Grassrootz.

Grazzrootz is knowledgeable, flexible and delivers
Uganda is not a cheap destination. You get a lot of value for your money though!
Grassrootz listens to what you are looking for, and provides you with a custom trip that matches this exactly. Sander is easy to talk to, responds quickly to all of your questions and gives great advice on the itinerary. He takes away all of the stress of organising a trip!
We went on a three week tour with David. He was very knowledgeable (the country, the parks, the animals, the hotels, the road and even politics!). David is friendly, polite and has great sense of humour. He's an excellent spotter as well! During the trip David helped to arrange the things we were looking for, such as a specific ranger that was good with birds, or to try some local food.
Most of the hotels were as we expected, with just a few feeling a bit dated (but we did confirm these accommodations when we booked).
Highly recommended.

Fantastic arrangement, knowledgeable tour guide, definitely recommend!
It was our first safari in Uganda, our first long safari (two weeks) and all went smooth, everything was very well arranged, although we spend many hours on the road we were on time for all planned activities, all lodges proposed by the agency during initial planning turns to be fantastic with fantastic views and friendly staff. The tour guide were knowledgeable and trustworthy, helpful with all kind different requests from our side(from arranging local SIM card to taking us to best local restaurantes and buying street art).
Definitely will use the company again!

Perfect Uganda safari!
We just returned from a wonderful 14 days safari to Uganda with Grassrootz Adventures. We enjoyed a perfectly planned itinerary covering most of Uganda’s national parks including chimp and gorilla treckings in Kibale Forest and Bwindi. We were impressed by magnificent landscapes, welcoming people, and exciting wildlife. We enjoyed wonderful lodges and safari camps carefully selected by the tour operator, and we appreciated Bob’s competence as a safari guide, his great knowledge as well as his friendly and considerate attitude. We could not have asked for a better guide (or tour company). We will definitively be back for another safari with Grassrootz Adventures to the Pearl of Africa.

TOP holiday!
Uganda, it was clear to me that I would go there one day. I am single and sometimes go with a group tour. But the way I wanted it was not offered. So looking for other options. That's how I ended up at Grassrootz. Your wishes are processed in a good program. And we think along with you about what other nice additions could be.
We also look at which driver/guide suits you. I've been out with Emmy. A bull's eye for me. He has a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm about his country and its inhabitants - humans and animals.
Nature and the weather were kind to me during my trip. Got to spot many animals and brought home wonderful memories.
Add the 3 points above together and you have a TOP holiday!!
Sander and Emmy thanks for everything.

Exceptional
We originally booked this safari before Covid. Grassrootz were extremely helpful and understanding in rearranging our trip.
Once on the trip our guide Moses was wonderful both me and my husband enjoyed every minute of it. The lodges were great. The food was delicious but far too much. Overall we’ve had a brilliant time and the trip was everything we hoped for.

Mar-Apr 13 day / 12 night Ugandan experience
My wife and I recently returned from a 13 day / 12 night Uganda safari covering Murchison Falls National Park, Lake Albert, Kibale Forest National Park, Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Lake Mburo National Park. The trip incorporated the chimpanzee, gorilla and lion trekking options as well as cruises on the Nile, the Kazinga Channel and Lake Mburo. We chose Grassrootz Adventures for their professionalism and responsiveness to our research and enquiries; being our first trip to Africa and on a constrained schedule because of work commitments, we wanted to make the most of our time in-country and Sander and his team did not disappoint.
We were impressed by Sander’s quick and detailed response to our enquiries, and his availability to take international phone calls to discuss final arrangements. We spent some time in e-mail correspondence and phone calls discussing and confirming options such as tour duration, alternative accommodation and optional activities. Sander was always receptive and was very attentive to responding to all enquiries and confirming information.
Our guide and driver, Bob Magezi, ensured that everything ran smoothly and was very knowledgeable about wildlife and back roads that took us off the beaten track, showing us village and rural areas that on other tours would have missed. His relationships with other tour guides, rangers, and accommodation staff were excellent and greatly facilitated our journey. He quickly sorted a discrepancy in our respective itineraries to facilitate our visit to Lake Mburo, which we’re sure he had to call in a couple of favours and arranged for our COVID tests for our return journey when we arrived back in Entebbe.
The accommodations we stayed at were generally very good and apart from some hot water issues and one venue that was obviously undergoing some improvement renovations, we were comfortable. The staff everywhere were excellent, and we can’t endorse their attentiveness and hospitality enough. The food was always deliciously exceptional, and a rolex makes a great packed lunch.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our unique visit to Uganda with its beautiful terrain, incredible wildlife and very friendly people.
