A lifetime adventure in the Pearl of Africa!
Travelling through Uganda with Grassrootz was a lifetime adventure!
We enjoyed the most amazing wildlife in the national parks and got a better understanding of the people in community walks.
The team from Grassrootz (Sander, Anne and our driver Paul) is truly great, responding to every request and suggesting alternatives at every point of the planning and execution of the trip!
We really liked the choice of accomodations - beautiful locations, great service and still in touch with the local community, so you feel less of an outsider. Special thanks to Paul for being part of the team - we enjoyed the open conversations and mutual interest very much!
Uganda has so much to offer, and travelling with Grassrootz is a great way to explore the Pearl of Africa!

Trip of a Lifetime!
We spent three weeks in Uganda in June, going on safari and primate tracking with Grassrootz. We had an absolutely fantastic experience and could not have been happier with our tour company. From the very first email exchange, Sander was immediately responsive, and he put together the perfect itinerary for us. He worked with me on every little change and update I requested. Our guide / driver, David Otto was superb! He is such a calm, patient, kind, and knowledgeable person, and he handled all the logistics flawlessly. He had friends, colleagues, and connections at every one of the parks/lodges/venues, and delivered on everything we asked for. The density and diversity of wildlife in all the national parks we went to was just amazing, and David's eyes spotted everything!
Thank you, Grassrootz, for a trip of a life-time! We will never forget our amazing trip or you guys.

Grassrootz adventures Uganda!!! One word Fantastic!!
This is our second time with Grassrootz adventures Uganda.
Everything is so perfectly arranged.
The guides are so well skilled.
That spotting wildlife is much better then you will do it yourself.
All the accommodations were good selected ass we wished for.
And in all different price ranges.
We saw mother nature in the purest form.
We can highly recommend Grassrootz adventures Uganda.

Extraordinary
As a solo traveler, I’m always concern about safety and enjoying the experience. I had an amazing time with this tour operator from the moment my guide Bon arrived at my hotel. Bob was very pleasant and understanding. During our game drives, whenever I was trying to capture any animal; he would look it up on his book and tell me a bit information about the specific creature. Also, the accommodations I stayed, the staff were highly professional and welcoming. The food was well put together and I didn’t feel worry about anything. I just sat down and relaxed. At the end of the trip I was feeling sad that I had to leave such a beautiful country, but I made wonderful connections with my new friend and I shall be back for more!! Thanks to everyone that made this trip possible regarding the current CoVid19 struggle... ❤️

Great trip!
We are so happy that we have booked our trip through Grassrootz!
Communication with Sander was excellent before, during and afterwards.
The travel program is clearly communicated via a beautiful website and app.
We could continue to adapt everything to our wishes without limit. Up to the last minute we had made a few changes and nothing was too much.
The lodges where we stayed were beautiful. It only becomes a wonderful way to stay in the pearl of Africa.
Paul was our guide. He is very enthusiastic and has a lot of knowledge about the country. He was very flexible during the trip and it felt like a team in which we wanted to achieve the best together.
On a next visit to Uganda we certainly hope to have Paul as a guide again.
During the trip there was 1 disappointing location due to a renovation. This was immediately responded to by Sander, Paul and Anne, so that we quickly stayed in a great location.
In short; We look back on a wonderful trip in Uganda. Thanks Sander and Paul!

Attentive and professional
We are an older couple visiting our son and his family who live and work in Kampala. We will be here for several months so we expect to take several short excursions around Uganda while we’re here. I researched tour companies, selected what I believed to be the five best suited to provide what we wanted, and I contacted them, asking for itinerary proposals. Of the five Grassrootz was by far the most responsive and professional, and their representative here in Kampala, Anne, provided us with exactly what we wanted at a very competitive price. Although they were not the least expensive, I felt they were definitely the most professional, and I was confident in my choice.
Our first excursion included my wife and me plus our son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. We did a five day trip to Murchison Falls with Moses as our driver and guide. We were booked at the Murchison River Lodge which we found to be adequate to our needs, but not luxurious. It was quite acceptable. During our stay we did two game drives, a guided game walk, river cruises both upstream to the falls and downstream to the delta, and a drive to the top of the falls.
Although we were very happy with Grassrootz overall I have given them only four stars instead of five for what we felt was one shortcoming in their service. It is true that due to Covid 19 tourism in Uganda has been severely impacted, and lodges and services are only now recovering. As a result we felt that Grassrootz was not quite on top of the situation existing at Murchison Falls which impacted our overall experience. Highway and bridge construction through the park has seriously limited access to the game tracks north of the river, and the river is at perpetual flood stage due to a disastrous water management project. Bridge construction combined with discontinuation of ferry service due to flooding severely limited our ability to do game drives at optimal times as our lodge was on the south bank of the river. The flooding of the river has not only closed the hiking trail from the base to the top of the falls, but it has completely drowned the delta causing much of the birdlife that was there to relocate. I will reserve comment on these joint Chinese/Ugandan projects other than to say that I fear for the future of the park. In any case, I believe Grassrootz should have been more aware of the situation at Murchison, and they should have provided us with this information ahead of time.
In spite of this I continue to have confidence in Anne, and I look forward to working with her in planning more short excursions in Uganda during our prolonged stay. She has already given us a proposal for a trip to Lake Mburo and Kibale which we expect to do next. I believe Grassrootz is a five star operation with quality people, so I will continue to utilize their services, and I will write off our experience at Murchison Falls as just one more casualty of the Covid pandemic.

Trip of a lifetime!
We had the most incredible week away in Uganda! Grassrootz Adventures is such a well organised and professional travel company that made everything feel so smooth and flawless. Emmy our guide was absolutely brilliant and his knowledge about each place and Uganda in general was fantastic. We did the Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi National Forest plus 3 days at Murchinson Falls and it truly was the most unforgettable trip that we feel so lucky to have experienced. Emmy organised our Covid Test for us and ensured that we got the results in time for our departure flight. We had a doctor come to us at the lodge in Kibale National Park and then results were delivered the day before we flew back out of Entebbe. It was very easy!
I could not recommend this trip any more!

Perfectly organized and safe travel around Uganda.
Well organized trip. Communication with the organizer fast, immediate answers, quick action, helpfulness, striving for absolute client satisfaction and meeting any requirements. Any expected and unexpected objective changes in the travel program solved immediately and without the slightest problems. Maximum professional approach. The guide, Paul, was smiling, immediate, welcoming, casually communicative, with many years of experience accompanying tourists. It solves any unexpected problems immediately without any limited or disrupted client comfort.
The deal has always been very simple. No additional fees or "forced tips" were required during the entire 8-day trip. (only explicitly voluntary, about which the guide or organizer did not even need to know ..., purely at the client's discretion).
Visiting and traveling around Uganda is safe and hassle under the auspices of GRASSROTZ. The trip met expectations, we visited and saw everything we planned.The advantage of GRASSROTZ is that it has an office in Europe, so you can pay in euros to a bank account in the Netherlands. (Europeans do not lose unnecessary bank fees, which can reach 10% of the total price).
If you are considering a trip to Uganda, (and want to experience gorillas and chimpanzees really up close, Safari, sailing on the Nile, lots of hippos and crocodiles, a mighty waterfall, lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants and many other animals, unadulterated local villages, and beautifully diverse living environment), and you do not want to have any problems, agree with GRASSROTZ as soon as possible!
...and happy even now in a time of COVID madness... :-)
Warning! Don't forget to notice that all transfers between parks are quite time consuming, it gets up every day at 5:30 or 6:30, it's quite hot in the Entebbe area (36-38st C), it's cold again in the mountains (12-16s tC). Customize your program if you can, plan it for as many days as possible ... (8 days is the minimum, I recommend 10).

Great first 9-day round trip in Uganda
We decided to use Grassrootz for our very last minute trip to Uganda. Turned out it was one of the best decisions!
Sander from Grassrootz quickly worked out our round trip plan for 9 days. Price was very reasonable.
He was responsive, professional and efficient. And he was very, very patient with my 3 million questions, and always provided solid answers.
He managed to get the lodges and gorilla trekking permit as I wanted within 2 days!!
David Otto, our guide and driver, earned our hearts and respect right away.
He is a Great driver and seems to know every road to every hotel and every national park!!!
He respected our privacy.
About Covid precautions, David did a better job then most people. He always wore a mask and changed to a new one everyday and constantly desinfected his hands.
He was fresh and sharp everyday, and he was also flexible with the changes we requested in the plan.
We saw all the animals we wanted and are grateful to have learnt Ugandan people and culture.
We are happy about the tour, and we are happier to have known Sander and David.

Unforgettable 14 days in Uganda
We booked a 14 day safari tour with Grassrootz Uganda and all our expectations were met or even exceeded!
During the planning phase the communication with Sander worked very well and at the end we received a tailor made, detailed itinerary nicely prepared on the internet.
Our destinations: Start in Entebbe and then, Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Northern Queen Elizabeth National Park, Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Mutanda, Lake Mburo National Park.
It was a completely successful tour with highlights every day and our driver/guide Moses was always helpful, friendly and competent.
I can fully recommend Grassrootz. We got a great trip for a fair price!
