East African Discovery was a perfect choice. Highly recommended!
We went on a 2-week safari to Uganda and Rwanda late October, early November 2023. East African Discovery organised everything properly from the very beginning until the last minute. Our contact from the office was Ben, he is very well prepared and helpful, took all our needs into account and reply quick to emails.
During our safari everything went according the plan and our ideas. Our tour guide, Bernard (on the first week in Uganda) was excellent, he is so helpful and attentive, informed us about everything and always open to our requests. (In case you are planning to visit the area where EAD work, ask for Bernard, you won't regret it.)
On the second week we continued our safari with Abdul, he is also a great giude, high-skilled and open minded.
During our trip we also had the chance to meet Richard (the business partner of Ben) at My Bwindi Home a newly opened lodge which is operated by them. It was an unforgettable memory, the guys were so warm -hearted and did everything to make us feel at home.
Overall, we were very satisfied with everything from the organization throughout our stay. Perfect tour opereator with perfect staff, extremely recommended.

Fantastic trip!
We had a wonderful safari as a family with East African Discovery! Ben was very helpful planning our trip and replied to all our emails promptly. He gave good recommendations and ensured we would be comfortable with a toddler in tow and made all the necessary arrangements.
Our guide, Bernard, made our trip feel very relaxed and enjoyable. He ensured we had the best experience and we were impressed with his knowledge.

Exceptional service
From landing in Entebbe until we reluctantly returned to our plane EAD provided everything we needed.
Their attention to detail was incredible and every hurdle we encountered our guide (Emmy) found a solution.
The many lodges we stayed at as we traveled around were excellent quality (having stayed in some less than comfortable ones on previous visits), the food on offer was plentiful and good value ( they catered well for the veggie and vegan we had in our group).
The game drives were exciting and rewarding and this is where a professional guide comes to the fore, as we would have missed so much had it not been for Emmy ( especially the Leopard he spotted in a tree).
Can’t recommend EAD highly enough, Ben in England and Richard in Uganda were always available to help and brokered a superb value bespoke trip for us that was memorable and life changing for our whole group.

Wonderful trip
We have just returned from a trip to Uganda organized by East African Discovery. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, everything went according to plan - seeing the gorillas, the lodges and safaris were great and our guide and driver, Meddy was fantastic. We will definitely use them again and recommend both the company and Meddy.

Before contacting East African Discovery, I was certain that a very special surprise trip to Uganda for my dad’s 50th birthday would never happen. I’m glad that I was wrong!
I had heard about East African Discovery through a colleague who knew Ben from college so I dropped him an email after reviewing the website. Ben responded to me promptly with a very detailed and personalised response. Over the course of 3 months, Ben tailored a safari holiday that both my dad and I would love within my price range. Within that timeframe, I made umpteen changes to the safari and Bens patience never wavered. His knowledge of the lodges, excursions and the beautiful country that is Uganda was second to none.
Once I’d confirmed my booking and paid my deposit, Ben’s business partner Richard, started to book our excursions and lodges. Sending large sums of money to Uganda was daunting but I really didn’t have anything to worry about. I received emails and copies of receipts from the lodges which was great for peace of mind.
Once the surprise was out the bag, I introduced my dad to Ben via email as he had many questions about the trip and what to expect. Again, even after booking, Bens responses were so detailed and informative that by the time the holiday came we felt fully informed and raring to go!
East African Discovery delivered a safe and quality-ridden safari package from start to finish that was more affordable than any other provider which enabled us to experience Uganda for an extra 3 days!
My father and I can’t wait to return and we wouldn’t travel with anybody else.
Superb safari and service
We had a 6 day safari in Uganda arranged by Ben Tinsley at East African Discovery in late November 2016. It exceeded all expectations for value for money, accommodation, variety of scenery and sights, and quality of the driver/guide. We have traveled extensively including in other parts of East Africa. Uganda is truly special. We appreciated that the company is locally owned, with excellent local intelligence and experience in the tourism and game tracking fields in Uganda. We liked that the company is small, offering bespoke safaris rather than off-the-shelf itineraries. Ben responded to all queries and requests promptly during the planning stage and no question was too silly to ask. Our driver/guide was prompt, organised, informative, and friendly - he had grown up in a part of the country that we visited so his local knowledge was particularly good. The chimpanzee and gorilla tracking were experiences of a lifetime. Everything went off without a hitch. The pricing of EAD was considerably better than that offered for similar safaris by the larger outfits. We would recommend EAD without reservation.

amazing and taylor made trip though Uganda
East African Discovery organised us (myself an 4 well experienced travellers) an unforgettable trip through Uganda. From the very first e-mail exchanges, all went impeccably well, very transparant and clear communication which resulted in a perfect travel proposal at a very fair price. During the trip everything appeared to be even above expectations, a very well qualified driver and guides, outstanding hotels and lodges and for sure it was no coincidence we (our guide) spotted all the animals ( incl. Lions, Leopards) and that we were very lucky with the Gorilla tracking too.
At every moment we had the feeling the program was flexible and spontaneous wishes could be considered. On our request were also enabled to visit the orphanage project which is supported by East African Discovery, a truly nice experience.
All in all, congrats to the team and, highly recommended!
