The review below is the personal opinion of Wilai Deelert and not that of SafariBookings.
Bad travel agent in Africa
1/5

Me and my husband booked 6 days 5 nights safari tour in Kenya with this company. Ms.Regina and Jecton the driver were cheating people.
They changed our itinerary on spot. They tried to avoid to pay for the National Park to save the budget which makes us miss the morning and evening safari.
One day on our itinerary, we have to do evening safari in Amboseli National Park but the driver try to delay the drive to arrive late in hotel because he doesn't want us to visit the park and he can save at least 140 us dollars.
We paid money for safari but we miss two times Safari because of this bad people, Regina and Jecton
Don't use this company if you don't want to disappoint with your Safari experience..

First of all we appreciate Wilai Deelert for them giving us an opportunity to serve them on a successful trip generally save that little misunderstanding on park fee in Amboseli at the tail end of entire trip.
The 6 days safari through Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru + Amboseli all on Sopa lodges generally went on so well. The matter on contention is pegged on Amboseli Sopa proximity to the park, this being outside the park made their game drives in/out of the park as quite different from Nakuru's or Mara's whose locations are within the park boundaries.
The game drives had to vary from arrival to departure during these 2 nights at Amboseli National park - timing being a factor here we had to have an early exit to meet shuttle bus at Namanga for Arusha/Tanzania transfer.
The couple were extending their tour at the end of Amboseli visit to Tanzania (on their own) and we had booked a connecting shuttle bus from Nairobi to Arusha through Namanga border town, so we had to make a transfer drive across the park in time for the bus schedule . At this point we had to make a re- entry pass through Amboseli park as the only convenient and shortest way possible to get over to the border point to catch the bus. It was in order, so we told them we will pay park fees twice as a rule to the authorities. But from the on set they regarded us as 'cutting down costs' on them as if intending to charge extra or double on the demand and were going to spare less time for the sake of 'catching' a bus ...It did not go down well for them ( Wilai Deelert) as this developed into disagreement of opinion between us but we could not risk missing the bus for their transit either.
We however did not wish to push the whole issue too far so we humbly backed down and recently asked for their address and sent them the money as a way of solving the misunderstanding - a refund of $ 120 dollars was made despite their refusal to undertake surcharge as demanded by park authorities - hoping this will be a settlement point. We are glad they have not mentioned any unethical reaction nor sub standard service or missed on any offer that we had charged for but failed to provide. All the services went on smoothly and we beseeched them to get to know that adventures sometimes do take a little changes at times to meet up to the planned schedules so as to fulfill expectations We beg for our due respect after responding to their demand of the $ 120 dollars that we have remitted to them so far and had the hope this matter was settled. We look ahead to provide very quality services with dedication to every client who comes our way, Thank you!

Amazing 5 Day Giant Trails Safari
5/5

My Wife and I recently went on Reny's 5 Day Giant Trails Safari, and we can honestly say that the whole experience from start to finish has been exceptional. After requesting a quote here I spoke directly with Japheth, who was very patient with my many questions, and minor adjustments. he was also very conscientious throughout the safari, regularly getting in touch to check everything was going as expected, and meeting us at the hotel once the safari was over, where he helpfully arranged to transport us to an additional excursion I had planned to the Giraffe sanctuary in Nairobi, saving us the bother of arranging a taxi journey.

The Safari itself was excellent. From the time we were picked up form our hotel our guides Elisha and Frederick were excellent. Elisha, the driver in particular was a regular source of fascinating facts, whether about the animals themselves, the parks, or about the people and culture of Kenya in general. The guides worked flexibly with us to ensure we had the maximum time out on our game drives, and were about at the best times to see as much of the abundant wildlife as we could.

Overall, you could not ask for a better Safari, well organised, an incredible tour of Tsavo and Amboselli, great accommodation, and just as importantly, a very reasonable price. If we come back for another Safari again, we will definitely be giving Reny a call.

Very good, as usual!
5/5

In September 2024 3 friends and myself booked a 3 weeks safari in Kenya with Reny Safaris. Since 2016 it was already my 8th time with that same local tour operator! And once again they proved to be very reliable and flexible! No breakdown (a car in good shape is very important on this kind of trip), no flat tires ... In the past we had different drivers, but since last year we are having Elisha Opollo as our driver and guide: someone I can recommend without a shadow of a doubt!
We spent 10 days in the Masai Mara, still the best game park to see lions, leopards and cheetahs! It is true that it can get crowdy with cars (and tourists) when something special is happening, but your chances to see the predator cats are very high in the Masai Mara! Unfortunately, the Narok County increased the entrance fees to the Masai Mara to an outrageous level: they are charging 200 USD/person per day from July till December; and 100 USD in the rest of the year!!! Of course, Reny Safaris cannot help about this: it was a political decision by local authorities.
We saw several kills in Masai Mara, and a lot of wildebeests that had crossed the Mara on their annual migration from Tanzania to Kenya.
The remaining 10 days were spent on game drives in Amboseli, Tsavo East and Tsavo West: these parks are very different from the Masai Mara; they are very dry, so fewer animals to be seen, but still interesting thanks to different species and a lot of different birds, especially in Amboseli! Not forgetting the beautiful landscapes, for instance the one you get when you're staying at the Voi Safari Lodge in Tsavo East!
After 3 weeks of intense safari, the 4 of us flew back to Belgium with a lot of good memories to cherish!

Excellence service and helpful guidance
5/5

I booked this directly with Japheth at Reny and couldn't be happier. My family had a great experience. Our guide was excellent. Very professional. Answered all our questions. Great and fast communication- before, during, and after the safari. Had our own van for family of four. Lots of room. The van was a bit bumpy - it was difficult to take a nap sometimes, but it was great value overall. Our guide happily accommodated our requests for specific stops and diversions here and there. We highly recommend Reny Safaris!

Tour Operator was Mr Japhet and tour Guide was Mr Martin
5/5

I would love to thank Mr Japhet for his nonstop support and communication with me. As I had many questions and queries but Mr Japhet was always there to answer them. He assisted me in getting the best accommodations and best package with the places I wanted to go. He ensured that I do have a memorable tour with him and his tour guide. My tour agent Mr Japhet and Mr Martin my tour guide did wait for me and husband until we come out of the airport. My Tour agent Mr Japhet also visited us after our tour so bid us farewell. So kind of him to do that. Hope Mr Japhet and Mr Martin progress in their career ahead as they are doing a great job.
My Tour Guide Mr Martin was exceptional, knowledgeable and Strong man. He never made me and my husband feel uncomfortable. He ensured we enjoyed our experience. We did made few jokes on our way to our tour but he ensured we had a safe and comfortable journey. Mr Martin ensured we see the Big 5 and we get to see the animals very close and take pictures. He ensured we have enough pictures and videos. He is a very knowledgeable man. I salute for a man so knowledgeable.
Our tour was in the peak season. Due to Migration of animals and the wild beest. So our tour was value for money, expensive. However It was the best decision at the right time.
My tour was as follows Amboseli 2 nights Lake Nakuru 1 night and Masai Mara 2 nights.
We stayed in the following accommodations with meals onboard.
Amboseli Tulia Camp.
Lake Nakuru Sarovar Lion Hill Game Lodge.
Masai Mara Sentrim Mara Lodge.
I would say Tulia camp was one of the best accommodations. As our tent was right across the forest and we could see the animals in front of us. The camp was super clean and the staff was so kind and polite they ensured we had an amazing dining experience.
The fireplace was great and view below the night sky with the chilly weather made it romantic.
They also offered us picnic boxes which was filled with a lot of items to eat. Great way to enjoy your tour with the nature.
Sarovar Lion hill game lodge was great experience. They had an amazing place to see different kinds of birds in their hotel. They actually dedicated a space for the birds and a detailed information is given across the bird feeding place. Their food was amazing as well. The staff was polite as well. They ensured that we dined for our Lunch, dinner and Breakfast.
Please cross check with the hotel reception if your tour guide is staying with you or is having an accommodation. As it is not fair that My your guide Mr Martin had to go and stay in another hotel as we arrived little late.
Sentrim Masai Mara lodge was another camp for us to explore. At first we seen monkeys but they were not harming. Tents were cute.
Food was great. They did have an amazing bar and a fire place to explore as well.
Sentrim Mara Staff can be a bit better and polite with tour guides as I felt bad for my tour guide as here as well they did not provide any information if he will be staying with us in the same accommodation or not. I had to cross check with the reception if my tour guide is having a room to stay or not.
You have to take care of your tour guide as they are the ones who make your vacation a memorable and exceptional one.

Amazing trip with Reny safaris!
5/5

Our trip was fantastic with Reny safaris, Japheth orgainsied everything extremly well for us, met us at the airport where we went strainght down to Amboseli, we had 2 days at amboseli where we saw everything there was to see from the moment we left the lodge for our afternoon drive. Baboons, huge herds of elephants, a cheetah, prides of lions, giraffes, hippos, flamingos, buffalo, zebra, wilderbeast as well as much more. Martin our driver was a really nice guy, very knowledgable about the park and all the animals, he went out of his way to make sure we saw everything available.
Tsavo east was our next stop where we stopped at a spring along the way and saw crocodiles and hippos up close in the river before getting to Ngulia lodge where we had lunch with a herd of elephants using the watering hole next to the lodge and had a visit from 3 leopards just before dinner, which was amazing.
We tried to find rhino's at the local sanctuary but they were all out for the day unfortunately. :-(
We went to Tsavo west the next day but on route we stopped at a buffalo kill that we had seen the day before where a male lion came along and resued his kill from vultures and african wild dogs. Along the way we saw multiple herds of elephants and groups of giraffes. On our evening drive, Martin found out about another kill where we saw a pride of lions feeding on it, one of the lionesses also had a cub, it was amazing! on our way back we saw another herd of elephants bathing in a big watering hole as well as more giraffes and other animals along the way. back at the Voi lodge there were elephants, buffalo and hyenas using the wateringhole near the lodge.
We then headed to Diani beach for a few days at the pool/beach which was an nice and relaxing few days after all the excitement of the safaris.
Japheth was in contact with us regularly along the way to make sure we had everything we needed.
Our group was 2 adults and 2 kids (11 +13) everyone had an amazing time, the kids loved every minute of the trip as did the adults.
We did 4 days safari, 5 days beach, I would thoroughly recommend reny safaris, Japheth and Martin did everything they could for us at a very reasonable price.

Superb! Wonderful safari experience, well organised couldn't of asked for much more.
5/5

We booked a 5 day safari with Reny Safaris visiting Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakura and the Masai Mara. Japeth was a pleasure to deal with, working with our schedule to minimise any extra hotel days. We were picked up from the airport and travelled straight to the first lodge and took an afternoon boat ride on lake Naivasha seeing loads of hippos and fish eagles. Elisha our driver was very friendly and knowledgable he was happy to leave early enough on the next day to have extra time on the afternoon game drive in Lake Nakura National Park, where we got to see Rhinos although at a bit of a distance, there was also loads of zebras, girafes, buffalo, monkeys. It was a really good afternoon drive. The next morning we then travelled to the Masai Mara, we even saw elephants on the road before we even reached the lodge. We then took another afternoon game drive. I don't this we could have asked for much more. Looking at a cheetah nearly go and run for prey and seeing a lion sleeping under a tree were a highlight for me. There was many other animal and I don't think I'll forgot the bull elephant spoilt most of my pictures as he was a bit excited and I think he was looking for a mate.
I would highly recommend Reny Safaris and I would definately use them again. Elisha was the best driver. The lodges were great, we always had water available. The organisation was spot on and the price was great value. We truely enjoyed the trip.

Outstanding service and amazing experience
5/5

With Reny Safaris, communication was always clear and quick. They were super flexible to accommodate our dates and arrival schedules, as well as departure. When we arrived in Nairobi, we were welcomed in the hotel by our driver, Elisha and the tour manager, Japheth. From here Elisha took us on his van and showed us the best of what the national parks of Kenya have to offer. Always being very respectful, flexible and providing us interesting insights into the daily life of Kenyans and the nature that surrounded us. The hotels picked for our tours had incredible views, that have stayed in our memories. We remain grateful to the team of Reny Safaris and specially to our great guide and driver, Elisha and Japheth for the organization.

Incredible safaris
5/5

We have returned from a 5-day Kenya safari now in October (Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara and Lake Naivasha).
The treatment received by both Japheth and Silas, our guide/driver who accompanied us throughout the tour, was spectacular.
We loved Silas' treatment, he is great at the art of driving, finding animals, etc. It shows that he has experience.
They have super competitive prices and they configure the itinerary for you according to what each one starts from.
They have taken care of every detail and even gave us a beautiful little detail when we were leaving.
Indeed when we repeat the African safari it will be with them!!!
Many thanks for everything!!!

Delivered on everything they promised and even more!
5/5

Once in Nairobi, Japheth and Edwin arrived right on time to collect us and bring us to Masai Mara national park. They were exactly on time and we had no issues whatsoever. The drive to Masai Mara was very pleasant, the car was in excellent condition, very clean, comfortable, and we had great conversation with Edwin. He was happy to stop at any point we wanted to see views, take photos etc.

Once we arrived, again Edwin was completely flexible depending on if we wanted to go on a drive that evening or relax at the lodges etc. We opted to go for a drive that evening, full drive the next day and a half-day drive the following day. Edwin was more than happy to take us as we requested.

On the drives, the car was extremely comfortable and Edwin was a great driver. We always felt safe in the car and we were happy that Edwin was a very ethical driver, avoiding driving too close to animals as some other drivers seem to do. Apart from being able to answer every question we had, Edwin was also knowledgeable on how the animals behave and there were times where all drivers went one way but Edwin when another so that we could get an even better view - and it always worked! On the other hand, he was always quick to move to anywhere in the park that had a high-interest animal such as cheetahs, lions, even the black rhino!!

Our return was equally as comfortable. In Nairobi Japheth came out to visit us with a little token of appreciation which we greatly appreciate. These small touches made a lot and made our experience of Kenya and the Kenyan people even more amazing than it already had been. I would recommend Reny Safaris to anyone thinking of going on one.
