One of the best trip I have ever been in my life!
I decided to travel to do a Safari last minute , I requested several offers from different companies. However Paul was always very quick to answer my questions, and there was just an instant connection from the start. He planned my whole itinerary 1 week prior my travel dates , and prices were reasonable. Our guide Walter was the best part about our trip , he has a lot of knowledge about the animal wildlife, and always answered all our questions. Definitely recommend this agency to anyone thinking of doing a Safari.

Great value for our money
Our driver and guide was Ezekiel. He made our trip very enjoyable. He was a very good driver. We learned a few words in svahili, everything about masai kulture. And almost all of the african great 5 animals. We were only able to took time for two day trip but it was awsome. And the place we stayed for the night- great food and people and nice botanical garden wish we could have stayed longer.

A friendly and knowledgeable safari company!
We had an awesome 6-day "Great Migration" tour in Tanzania and Kenya in September. Sele and Fred were amazing tour guides and extremely knowledgeable. We had a lot of fun together and really enjoyed how they would get us the best spots for animal viewing. We saw everything (big 5) we wanted to, and so much more. I highly recommend this company. Everything went very smoothly and it was truly a once in a lifetime experience.

Friendly and professional
I can't praise them enough this trip is etched in my memory for ever. We had very close encounters with lions and a cheetah which I put down to our guides excellent knowledge. Saw two Wildebeest Mara river crossings in one day, each with 20000 plus animals. It looked like the highs of one day were eclipsed by the high of the next day. When asked about the safari this is what I tell them.
The travel time was horrendous I live in the USA 19hrs going 22hrs on the return.
Jet lag was horrendous 7hrs time difference.
Extremely rough rough roads, makes our rough washboard roads seem like the interstate.
Yes it was worth it was
PHENOMENAL!!!!

5-day Safari with Tanzania Roadside Expeditions
After visiting Namibia a few years ago (self-drive), we wanted to return to Africa and realized we would need an organized tour with a guide/driver.
After research and reading reviews we choose Tanzania as destination as Parks are relatively close and did not want to spend too many days on the road.
Read good reviews and comments on TripAdvisor and other sites regarding Tanzania Roadside Expeditions.
From the initial contact they were very helpful and quick to respond, flexible to accommodate our wishes., with excellent pricing and conditions!
We did a private 5-day safari to Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara.
Our driver and guide, Eli, was phenomenal!! He is an excellent wild life spotter and
knew exactly where to take us for better views and photos, always in good spirit and very pleasant and easygoing guy!
We had good accommodations that varied from a real (temporary) Kati-kati tented camp in Serengeti ((fantastic experience / should have stayed for 2 nights instead of 1!) and very luxurious hotel as the Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge (Wellworth Collection).
Food was very good and we had great dinners, breakfasts and quite diverse lunchboxes for underway.
The driving from Lake Burunge-Tarangire to Serengeti was extremely long and took us 10 hours on rough, dusty and sometimes scary roads. We would have appreciated a bit more information regarding this.
Fortunately, Eli is an extremely experienced driver, always with a lovely smile on his face and he tried to accommodate all our wishes regarding travel times, stops for coffee (wonderful coffee in Tanzania!), photos, etc…
The only 3 details that could be improved would be:
1) better/newer seats in the 4x4 vehicle (at least ours)
2) information about distances and expected driving times to get to each destination.
3) better information regarding Lake Manyara, famous for its thousands of pink flamingos. However, since some time there are no flamingos anymore.
We would have preferred to stay an extra night in Serengeti (considering the long drive to get there, one night is too short) and would have skipped Lake Manyara.
We highly recommend Tanzania Roadside Expeditions (Paul Justine, General Manager) for their prompt responses, experience and professionalism, help with Covid testing, etc.
We highly recommend visiting Tanzania! Beautiful places and thousands of animals! We did see the Big 5 and much more!

Emanuel Macha was truly the most amazing, knowledgeable, caring and miraculous Guide/driver EVER!
This was a dream trip for me, (having traveled the world extensively). To have a guide/ driver that is not only knowledgeable about the gorgeous areas; animals, birds, trees and fauna that you’re seeing, but pleasant, accommodating to our every need, is rare! I’m still in awe of his ability to navigate the unpaved roads and end up in miraculous scenes! Our lodges were spectacular and was actually in tears when we had to part!

Emanuel Macha is knowledgeable, kind and fun. Perfect for his position.
My family and I had a spectacular 5 star service. My husband and travel agent Shay Sabag made this experience amazing. We stayed at beautiful locations. Had absolutely wondeful service from our driver Emanuel Macha. Macha’s knowledge allowed us to learn, explore and experience the safari in a way that met my entire families needs. He is thoughtful, kind and understanding. Our ages in our private family tour ranged from 11-80 years of age and we all had the best trip ever. True 5 star service.

Exceeded our expectations by a country mile!
I first contacted Tanzania Roadside Expeditions (TRE) in February of this year to arrange a three-night/four-day safari for myself, my husband Nick, and our daughter Georgia. I chose TRE on the strength of their amazing reviews and my initial communications with Paul, the Managing Director. Paul was extremely efficient, professional and responsive from the outset, so there was no doubt in my mind that I had chosen the right company.
Paul arranged our return flights from Zanzibar to Arusha, and was there to meet us at the airport to introduce us to our guides, Walter and Enrishi, and the trusty Landcruiser (our base for the next few days!). Enrushi was in training, so we were fortunate to have two guides - both of whom were extremely knowledgeable, personable and a huge pleasure to spend four days with. Frankly, we could not have asked for better company throughout our adventure.
We visited Tarangire National Park, criss-crossed the awe-inspiring Serengeti and explored the amazing Ngorongoro Crater, staying in stunning safari lodges each night, where we received wonderfully warm welcomes and delicious meals. They even managed to cater for our daughter, Georgia's, vegan diet.
We saw not only the 'Big 5', but the 'Big 8' by day two, plus a myriad of other beautiful wildlife. Our wonderful guides were incredibly skilled at spotting elusive wildlife from a great distance, and we managed to get up close to all but the rhinos, who kept their distance. We also visited a Maasai village on our final day - another fascinating experience that has since prompted me to read a number of books on the Maasai and their environment.
The only downside of our trip was when the time came to say our goodbyes to Walter and Enrishi on our final day. Their engaging personalities and the knowledge they imparted to us made our holiday both special and unforgettable. We sincerely hope for a reunion at some stage in the future.
Our entire experience with TRE was outstanding, and our enthusiasm has been such that a number of our friends are contemplating doing similar to what we did, with TRE. We took so many wonderful memories away with us, not to mention hundred and hundreds of photographs! Needless to say, we would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this company to anyone seeking to 'go on safari'.

Excellent communication and service from quote to safari. Incredible team and experience!
We chose Roadside for our first ever safari and were very impressed! Paul and the whole team designed and planned our days carefully and picked perfect lodges to stay at overnight after the long, incredible days.
Our guide Justin was so knowledgable about the areas, animals and of course has eagle eye vision to spot animals from a distance.
Day 1, we arrived in Arusha and were met by Justin and after a quick bag drop at the Melia in Arusha, headed out to see some local sights, in this case an incredible rainforest waterfall hike, local Masai coffee farmer showing us around his land & finally a taste of local cuisine. We would 100% recommend doing this to make use of the first travel day (not to mention the coffee was the best we’ve ever had)
Day 2, Tarangire it’s hard to put this into words but the area is incredible to be driven through, and while the only thing owner Paul would guarantee we would see was the Baobab tree we were incredibly lucky to witness a huge variety of animals this day with Justin expertly navigating the multitude of paths and spotting signs of animals. After the day was done we headed towards our lodge near N’gorogoro crater which also really enhanced the experience and was a great choice for a lodge.
Day 3 N’gorogoro conservation area, after an early breakfast & packed lunch from our lodge we headed out again. Rain overnight had made the routes here tricky but that was no issue for Justin who again expertly navigated us and was always keen to explain animals, landscape and the history of what we were seeing. After another very lucky day for animal spotting we headed back to the lodge for our 2nd and final night where we greeted by another great meal & some local entertainment.
Day 4, our final day of safari at Lake Manyara. By the end of this day we were sad to have to leave and head back on the plane, we managed to see so much but could easily have done it all again. After the park we chose to additionally visit a local Masai tribe who welcomed us with their traditional dance & showed us the village - something we will treasure forever.
Overall we will 100% be using Roadside again for our next trip and would recommend anyone looking for a great guide and package to do the same. Thankyou again to Paul & Justin.
