Amazing safari, well organised!
We had the best time on our 5 days safari tour with Shemeji. We went to Arusha National Park, Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The communication with Emma and the staff was easy and quick response. Very helpful and able to make last minute changes. Gerald was our driver/guide. He was very knowledgable, drove safely, we had a great time with him. He did his very best to find animals we wanted to see. We saw tons of animals, about 50 lions, big heirs of elephants, zebras, giraffes, hypos, worldebeasts, crocs, flamingos, etc. The accommodations were perfect. Nice big tents and lodge, well located. Food was good too, plenty food and water. The jeep was a little old but worked without problem, no air conditioning but didn't really need it. We had an amazing experience and would most definitively recommend it. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you to everyone at Shemeji, special thank you to Gerald!

Great 4-day trip that exceeded our expectations
Communications: Communication prior to the booking of the tour was very easy and uncomplicated. Although we were a bit late with our inquiry, Emma was very fast to provide us with a suitable tour perfectly designed to our needs.
Living up to expectations: We had a great tour and it was better than we could possible expect. Especially our guide, but also our cook contributed a lot to it. Both were very friendly, always checking on our needs and providing us with a great experience of the landscape, wildlife and food of Tanzania. We are vegetarians and the cook supplied us with delicious vegetarian food and insights into the Tanzanian culture and society.
Safari tour: It was amazing to see all the animals in their natural habitat. Already at the end of the second day, we saw the so-called Big 5 animals and many more. The driver was very patient with us, and we spent two hours following a hungry and hunting cheetah. Our guide was very knowledgeable and knew many secret spots and the behavior of the animals so that we were often one of the only cars watching an animal.
Overall: Looking back at the two weeks that we had in Tanzania, the tour was our favorite part and the best possible experience we could get.

Brilliant 6 days Safari Experience
We had a great experience from the start to the end of the tour. The communication was very good. Our driver David was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and happy to share his experience. The tented lodges were great, the food was amazing and we were always very well looked after. We highly recommend Shemeji Safari Tanzania!

Unfreakingbelievable
We went with the 5-day tented lodging safari with Shemeji which took us to Tarangire NP, Lake Manyara NP, Ngorongoro crater, and the Serengeti NP. It was unfreaking-believable! Very difficult to describe and put into words.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our time on the safari with our guide. This trip is literally out of the Lion King. Our guide/driver, Sele, was very knowledgeable, patient, friendly, funny, and able to spot wildlife from incredibly far away. He taught us the Swahili term for each animal, he knew the gestation period of basically every animal, and was able to answer all our questions that we asked and there were a lot. In addition, we never felt our safety was compromised. He was always conscious about our well being. We saw many other tour companies who drove dangerously fast and unsafe (in my opinion) during our safari. We never felt unsafe with Sele. He always asked if we wanted to stop for pictures and if the spot was good enough, (if the spot wasn’t good enough, he would predict where the animal was going and angle our jeep accordingly).
We were able to see the BIG FIVE and SO many other animals up close: elephants, gazelles, hippos, ostriches, hyenas, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, cheetahs, lions AND ALL OF THEIR BABIES. It was amazing to see how protective each species are with their young. One of the more memorable moments was to actually see a rhino up close, a very rare occurrence. We were also lucky enough to see a little cheetah hunt, VERY COOL…...and, and, and we got to see a pack of vultures attacking a carcass (unreal!).
The accommodations were all very comfortable and the staff very welcoming. The lunch boxes were filling and full of different snacks each day, the breakfasts and dinners were also delicious. Sele also brought along hot water in thermoses for our picnics during the day so that we could have a coffee and/or tea for lunch!
We cannot recommend Shemeji enough. Some would say this was a “once in a lifetime experience,'' however, we hope we will be able to experience this type of adventure again in the future!

Incredible safari!
Our experience with Shemeji was incredible! We had an absolutely amazing guide who really loved what he did. He found us animals without millions of cars around and took us out from super early daybreak until the sun was setting.

Totally professional. We could not have been happier.
From our first communication with Shemeji, we were very impressed. Emails were always answered quickly, providing plenty of detailed information. We wanted a variation to the itinerary which was simply altered to accommodate our request.
The tour was fabulous, from our first morning entering Tarangire to our last day at Ngorongoro Crater.
Our guide/ driver, Adam, was fabulous. He managed to spot animals which we couldn’t even see initially, all whilst negotiating difficult roads. He seemed to have an uncanny knowledge about where to park and wait for the animals to come to us. A special thank you to Adam.
The accommodation provided was lovely. The hosts were all friendly and welcoming.
Tanzania has given us such special memories, we are grateful to Shemeji for playing a large part in this. Asante.

Animals and fun
We booked a five day camping and lodge safari at Shemeji. We had a wonderful time with Omari ('mr Eagle Eye') and Godson ('mr Delicious'). We were suprised by the luxury and good taste of the prepared meals on the campsite in the middle of the Serengeti. Omari showed us many animals and nice places and we had a lot of laughs.
Shemeji also carefully booked the rest of our trip to the Usambara mountains and Zanzibar.
It was a trip we will never forget.

Experience of a Lifetime: 7-Day/6-Night Safari with Shemeji
When we decided to visit the beautiful country of Tanzania and go on our very first safari, we had no idea which tour operator to go with. After reading countless reviews online and receiving several quotes from a number of companies we ultimately chose to book with Shemeji. We did not regret that choice for one second! The owner, Emma, is a wonderful woman - she guided us through the entire booking process, making sure that we were able to customize the safari exactly the way we wanted and that all our needs are met. She made suggestions based on our desires, addressed our concerns, answered all our questions and always replied to our messages promptly while remaining professional yet sympathetic. The transfer of the money was incredibly easy since Shemeji (in addition to the bank account in Tanzania) has a Dutch bank account so we were able to pay in Euros and did not need to pay any transaction fees.
On August 6th, we finally began our adventure. A 7-Day/6-Night (tented) lodge Safari with the following route: Tarangire National Park -> Lake Manyara -> Serengeti Central -> Serengeti North -> Serengeti Central -> Ngorongoro Crater. This itinerary was absolutely perfect for us. But the trip still wouldn’t have been as perfect as it was without such an amazing safari guide!
Our driver-guide, Freddy, picked us up at 8am in our hotel in Arusha with a smile on his face and the car ready to go. My girlfriend and I both agree, that Freddy was the main reason this safari was so wonderful. He is such a reliable, funny and just overall great guy – our brother in Tanzania – and also a very safe driver. With 10-years of safari experience he was always quick to spot all the animals, even when they were far away, and could tell us exactly which bird was flying overhead, even if they all looked the same to us. From the first day of the safari to the last, he always made sure we are comfortable, safe, and enjoying our time. He asked which animals we want to see most and made sure we did exactly that – and more! He knew so much about each and every animal and always had an answer for all of our questions. It is obvious that he is very passionate about his work. He went above and beyond: positioning the car differently so I could get a better picture of the animals, getting my girlfriend some Cola when she was feeling unwell before entering Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and letting us decide at what time to start and end each day of game drives. We miss him already!
Some of the (many!!!) highlights of our trip include being completely alone with 13 giraffes at the shore of Lake Manyara, having a leopard walk right next to our car and get ready to hunt a gazelle to feed its cub, seeing Lions mate, countless baby animals and of course, seeing the Great Wildebeest Migration near the Kenyan border and witnessing the spectacle of the Mara River Crossings! On our last day we saw the animal I wanted to see the most – the black rhino! That was the perfect conclusion to a perfect week!
The accommodation was fantastic also with one bed more comfortable than the next and very friendly staff everywhere. We booked a tented lodge safari and were pleasantly surprised to find that all the accommodation was of the highest standard. We stayed two days at the African Glamping with its swimming pool and giant tents and two days at a Serengeti Central Camp where we heard hippos and buffalos at night and one night at a Northern Camp. Rhino Lodge was our accommodation on the Ngorongoro Crater rim. At the rhino lodge, before we went on safari, we had a herd of 20 buffalo in the backyard in the morning!
Honestly I could write so much more but I think you should just see for yourself: Shemeji will make your safari an unforgettable experience!

Guide and Cook left no stone unturned to make our Safari experience wonderful and memorable.
Entire tour couldn’t have been supreme without the seamless efforts of Sele and Daniel.
Trip started with Sele receiving us at the JRO airport with a broad smile. Must say that Sele is disciplined and a very calm person. During safari, he made every effort to ensure that game drive is flawless. We could see all the residing wild big cats along with other animals but were unlucky with Rhino. His attentiveness helped us to see the rare sights and breath-taking views of safari.
We were apprehensive about the veg food but Daniel was so prepared that he lifted us to the delighted zone. He was on the toes to make us feel at home with delicious food preparation , soups and salads. Small small things like he serving variety of fruits and making it palatable with fruit art made us really happy. Its about not compromising on the standards even in middle of jungle.
Quality of tents and all amenities provided during the trip were incomparable. What I can say is that any future Safari trip without any second thought has to be with Shemeji . Sele and Daniel accompanying us would be like cherry on the cake
