Wonderful experience made possible by great people.
5/5

The experience not only lived up to my expectations but exceeded it. The price range was at par with the services provided and the few hiccups were quickly ironed out rather efficiently. I since recommended it to a few friends who had nothing but praise for the communication and accomodations that they were given. I will for sure utilize their services again.

Unforgettable safari
4/5

We were a Danish family consisting of 6 persons aged from 13 to 68 years. We were put together with 2 persons more, so we were 8 passengers. We had an extraordinary, fantastic experience in Masai Mara - we succeeded in meeting lots of different animals including the big 5 (except the rhino). We had a very dedicated and well-informed driver/guide, mr. Obama himself, who contributed to a high spirit in the vehicle and in the evening. Rachel Obonyo from the company was always very helpful and attentive. We loved the camp. It was simple but charming and the food was excellent.

Obama and his beast are like Formel 1 Schumacher
5/5

My husband and me booked a 6-Days-Safari (Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara) in a small group (4-6 people) with this tour operator. No other clients booked the 6-Days-Tour, but the tour took place anyway. Deal is deal! Therefore we were alone with our Guide Obama in Amboseli. The unintentional privat tour in Amboseli was a great experience! We saw lots of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and some others. It was amazing to see all kind of animals together on one place. Many wind roses and Mount Kilimandscharo were very impressive in the background. We booked the budget variant. That was the right decision! We slept in tented camps in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nature with all kinds of animals. Beautiful!!!
On the way to Lake Nakuru we picked up another client. It was a long trip from Amboseli to Lake Nakuru Nationalpark. We were in hurry cause of traffic on the way. We had no more time to check-in before afternoon game drive, so we were heading straight to the gate of the Nationalpark. Despite the long drive, Obama was still motivated and ambitious to show us as much „attractions“ as possible! The first one was a rhino with his baby. It’s very rare, so we were lucky that we have seen it. The second „attraction“ was a whole lion family who walked next to us along the street. Impressive and respectful! Even Obama cranked the window, because the lion was so near! Despite the long exhausting day, we have been able to see some great animals!
On the way to Masai Mara we picked up a family of six. (Obama reckoned with three people!) All in all we were 9 client. To much for the van! Also, it did’t match our booked tour (4-6 people). The single guy had to chance cars. He continued the tour with people who had also booked the more expensive tour (more comfortable accommodation). We were still more than 6 clients, but Obama couldn’t do anything so far in the middle of nowhere without a second car. All of us had a seat, that was the main thing so far. All the luggage didn’t fit into the trunk and had to be stowed in the sitting room. There was only little space to sit, but it was okay. On arrival in Masai Mara we could leave our luggage in the camp, so we had more space in the car. Despite the circumstances (more than 6 people) we had no disadvantages in game drives. Obama tried to make the best out of it for us! All of us could stand up (pop up roof top) to see more! All of us had enough time to take pictures… We all got along well. In Masai Mara we saw some new animals; For example cheetahs and leopards. In the end we’ve seen all of the BIG FIVE (Lion, Rhino, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo). Amazing experience!! On the last game drive, we were late to get to the gate (gate closing), but still we turned around and drove away from the gate. Obama got a call, so a new attraction had to be there; Cause of the efford of Obama, we could see a Lion Hunting. That was an impressive last sighting!
We are glad we stayed 6 days in different Nationalparks, cause we could observe how the landscape changes from NP to NP. We didn’t think about it before! In addition, the chance to see more different animals, especially the BIG FIVE is a lot higher!

Obama is a really careful, sociable and fun-loving Guide, trying to make it fair and comfortable for every single client. He was very knowledgeable about flora and fauna, the animal behaviour and the Maasai People. Obama said at the beginning: „Ask me anything and I’ll give you an answere.“ He kept right!!!
Obama without a phone is not Obama! He was always on phone or radio to organize the further course or to keep contact with other Guids in the park to exchange interesting animal sightings. That made our trip really unique!

Summarized, We can definitely recommend this tour operator. Rachel from the office
was always accessible and open to questions before the tour started.
During the tour, she made sure that everything was ok. Special Thanks to our Guide Obama, who made the trip really unique...! We can highly recommand him as a Guide!

The review below is the personal opinion of Jan & Yvonne and not that of SafariBookings.
Authentic African safari with a lack of organization
2/5

We've booked a "4-Day Kenya Lodge Safari". The first 3 Days in Masai Mara with the Mara sopa lodge for 2 nights and 1 Night in Lake Nakuru NP at the Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Unfortunately we did not get what we booked.
We get a tent camp as an alternative for the overbooked Mara sopa lodge. It wasn't the same standard! Mara Sopa Lodge is much more expensive and we get no money back.

On the 3rd day was a 3-hour game drive according to our booking confirmation. But we only get a 2-hour game drive. On the way to the lake nakuru we had lunch and the driver droped us off with the message, we have to wait for another driver. After 3 hours we were finally picked up!!!
But now it was toooo late for the afternoon game-drive at lake nakuru, because we arrived there around 7 pm.

During the whole stay was promised us according to booking confirmation free water to each meal.
At dinner in the camp/lodge there is no water include! To every dinner we had to pay for water!

When we told all these things to the tour organizer, they said that we should not make a mountain out of this and said, that´'s not their fault because of the free water. We should take water from the car to the hotel to drink this during dinner.

In summary, we can recommend this safari-tour in any case, but the tour operator would have to act somewhat more customer-friendly.
The animals and landscape are unique!

Jambo Yvon & your good husband.
Trust you are both fine and doing great, we are very much happy to read from you and your kind recommendations, this is indeed very much kind kind of you as it helps us adjust our services in the future.
The issue of the lodge was not only a disappointment to you but also to us as a company, we did the booking and even made the payment in good time, it just happens that the lodge was banking on the rooms that were still under renovation and for reasons best known to them could not beat the deadline.
This was brought to our attention and we had to move first enough to get you the best accommodation that would work best with group joining trips. It just happens that youdint like Mara olmoran luxury tented camp since you were tuned to Mara sopa, the only difference between the two is the olmoran has no swimming pool and again it's the best considering they enjoy monopoly, they charge same rate just like sopa with just a difrance of 10 usd that's as per my contract rates.
As you were honeymooners and we wanted the best for you, we requested the best accommodation/ the honeymooners tent which is charged at an extra cost and even had it fitted for the ovation and wine that was not included in the package. This was never charged. All in all, it was disappointing both to you and us, we will sure ensure there is no repeat of such, we did discuss with sopa at length and honestly there was no way out, it's not only your case but others to from different companies not only us experienced this. My sincere apologies my friend.

As for the water issue, if you go through the mail, it says we provide mineral water while on game drive and always advise that you carry somebottle with you to your room for consumption. The accommodations package do not always include both soft drinks and hard drinks. Water here falls under soft drinks and that's why we always provide this in advance and for the entire trip period.

You got to Lake Nakuru late I understand, I did take the inniciative despite the fact that you booked a group joining trip, I did provide a car just for the you and my good friend mark so that you could take more time and explore the park to exit at your most convinient time. I believe this was well compensated. I met marks and he did give me the report that lake Nakuru was awesome too.
Nb: you have valid points to take note of and be assured, we will take your advise seriously do the impossible if necessary to ensure no repeat of such.
Thanks once again and kindly do pass my warm regards
Rachel

An experience worth dying for!

The African safari experience.
Much appreciation to African Habitat Safaris Safari tours and their team of experts for a memorable African tour.
We booked a two weeks safari based on reviews about the firm and an incredible Kenya tour operator Rachel was waiting on the other end. She, being the sole owner of the company facilitated the experience form the point of booking to the end of the tour. The safari was conducted in a van fit for my family. Our tour guide, Obama conducted the trip professionally depicting knowledge of the terrain, the wildlife and the culture revolving between Kenya and Tanzania country generally. The destinations across the two countries in Mara and Serengeti. That was a remarkable ten day experience out of Europe

Fun, academic and fulfilling experience.
5/5

Its been stereotypic that destinations in our country are meant to attract foreigners from outside to explore. But a challenge to tour our local parks was well received by my colleagues and I to Visit Mara National Park. Being a group of uni students out to appreciate Kenya's local destinations, we found the two day tour to Masai Mara fulfilling, educative and patriotic. This was also facilitated by the best efforts of tour guides and tour operators form African Habitat Safaris, who made us even appreciate the excursion more; motivation enough to undertake more tours into our country's destinations and even across the East African region, of course with the help of African Habitat

5/5

We went on a 4 day safari in Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru. We had wonderful time. We found African Habitat Safaris from www.safaribookings.com and connected via email. Rachel was very helpful and reliable since the beginning. We could see the five big and witness amazing scenes in Masai Mara. Our guide and driver (Johannas) was great. He was always at the right place at the right time. We highly recommend African Habitat Safaris.

Life has never been the same, not especially after tour into these East African destination over a week spent out of the country. Our expectation arriving in Nairobi Kenya were not as great as the trips to Masaai Mara and AmboseliParis turned out to be. In my opinion we were attached to the most suitable tour guide to share with us his comprehensive know of the terrain and nature of the wildlife.A remarkable two days in the Amboseli and another three days In the Mara were memorable with there sensational games drives and interaction with the native communities made the week an extraordinary one.
