HIGHLY RECOMMEND HOME TO AFRICA TOURS!!!
I had one of my best travel experiences with Home To Africa Tours. I did a 12 day western Uganda tour which allowed me to focus on one part of the country and be able to actually enjoy the trip instead of trying to rush from one place to the next. Derrick was my driver and he was the perfect guide for me. He was very chill but also very informative and knowledgeable about wildlife and the culture of the country. I told him I wanted a taste of the "real" Uganda instead of just doing the touristy things. He took me out to a couple of the local bars at night, we stopped and ate some of the street food from the local vendors and we became friends along the way.
The thing about traveling to a third world country, is that you have to remember that you are in a third world country and you are not going to have the same comforts or amenities as you may have at home or while visiting other westernized countries. You would think this would go without saying, however, I realize that is not always the case. However, with that being said, my lodges were very comfortable with beautiful surroundings and left me with nothing to complain about.
Another thing to remember is wildlife is unpredictable and even though you might have it in your mind that you're going to see all of these animals you dreamt of seeing, the reality is, that's not always the case. I was one of the lucky ones and saw even more than I bargained for. Part of that was because I decided to spend an extra day at Queen Elizabeth NP. Three days at that park might be too many for some, but after not seeing much the first two days, I opted to do the tracker experience (for an extra fee). That was a total game changer for me. It allowed for a "front row" view of a leopard in a tree and a pride of lions making a kill. I even saw a hyena running across the savanna. I wouldn't go into this expecting to see the same things, however, you're chances of seeing these animals do increase drastically.
I did gorilla, chimpanzee and golden monkey trekking as well. I was one of the lucky groups to locate the gorillas within the first hour of trekking, however, I know this can be a 7-9 hour day while hiking through some very difficult, steep terrain. The experience was amazing but that hour did go by fast for me. It was definitely worth the experience, but if I go back, I might opt to do the gorilla habituation where you can spend four hours with them.
All in all, it was a trip of a lifetime for me and I would definitely recommend Home To Africa Tours. I really believe Derrick made all of the difference in my experience. He showed me the "real" Uganda and was so patient about everything. Home To Africa really nailed it in planning everything I had hoped to see and do. I embraced the country and it's culture as well as I could, and I hope if you choose to go, you do the same. It's a beautiful country with so much to offer, but ultimately it's up to you to truly embrace the country for all of its beauty.

Punctual, polite, flexible, skilled, reliable expert animal guides, with a five star experience!
We rescheduled our trip due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the operator worked with us to rebook lodging and permits. Extremely communicative, modern, reliable, punctual and safe experience. We were a bit nervous during the booking and money transfer. This company was by far the best, most reliable out of our five weeks of Africa bookings. Our driver was far better than our other tours, as he was professional and educated. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Punctual, great itinerary, trustworthy and accomodating
One of the best holidays. The gorilla safari did not disappoint and was the highlight of the trip but in addition we saw so many amazing things on safari in Uganda. The tours were well planned, the accommodation was great and itinerary, while busy gave us opportunities to see some amazing things. The tour guide was always punctual, attentive and friendly. I think if you wanted a more relaxing holiday you would need to specifically mention how much free time you would like to have.

Wonderful!
It was a incredible experience. I really felt as if our tour guide Derrick went above and beyond for us. I couldn’t have asked for better.
Excellent, responsive and reliable
We had an excellent experience with Home To Africa for our time in Uganda. They were very responsive in planning our rather last minute arrangements and accomodating our changes. Our guide, Balam, was always punctual which we appreciated and was a safe driver, we always felt at ease! We highly recommend Home To Africa (=

AMAZING experience!
I had been wanting to do a safari for my entire life, and I did research for months to find the right tour company, and I’m so glad we chose Home to Africa!
Hedmond was my first contact and he answered all of my questions quickly and everything was well explained, we felt like we were going to be well taken care of. Balam picked us up from the airport and made us feel very welcome for our tour (12 days) to start the next day with our guide for the rest of the safari, Karim.
Karim knew every animal and he could even identify birds when we imitated a call we heard earlier when he wasn’t there. He could spot animals that we barely noticed, gave us detailed information about each one, and always had an interesting story to tell. We learned so much about animals, Uganda, culture, and even some words in Luganda from him, and it was an experience we’ll never forget.
We felt perfectly taken care of with Karim—he always looked out for us, adapted the itinerary to our schedule, and made sure we had the best experience possible. Definitely ask for him to be your guide-you won’t forget it!
Wembale Home to Africa!

Excellent both during booking and on the trip!
Home to Africa were excellent from beginning to end. We initially booked prior to COVID, and throughout the long process of cancellations and restrictions Hedmond, our organiser was incredibly accommodating. Every change and inconvenience was taken in stride.
When we finally arrived in Uganda, we were impressed further with our guide, Balam. We would have seen a fraction of what we did without him. He was incredibly knowledgeable, pragmatic and funny. He always had an interesting story to tell when he wasn't spotting Lions hiding in a bush at 300 yards!
We can comfortably recommend Uganda as an excellent destination if you're looking to go on Safari, and you should absolutely pick Home to Africa to guide you around.

Fantastic experience ... beyond our wildest dreams.
From our first contact with Hedmond at Home to Africa we felt at ease. His communication, outline and explanation of everything were exceptional. All was clearly and concisely explained and outlined in the itinerary.
Our guide Derek (the wonder guide) was exceptional. We hit the jackpot when we got him. His was friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, obliging, very funny and a joy to be around.
The tour was great value for money and at no time did we feel we didn't receive what we paid for.
Thank you so much Hedmond and Derek for everything :-)
