Diverse itinerary, great lodging and meals, good price for experiences, an amazing adventure!
The communications were good, but few, so one has to be good following up or comfortable that all is being taken care of. One suggestion to this company is to write a list of necessary items and actions, ie links to Visa, inoculations required, best items to pack, etc. Once the itinerary was set communication was minimal but Elias answered every email of mine sufficiently. The service was great! we were picked up at Entebbe airport late (2300) by a smiling Sam, our next 8-day driver and guide and he toured us through the parks and lodging and joined us for several meals. He even stopped for birds along the route. Sam had excellent knowledge of the country, politics, wildlife. For my comfort, he should slow down through the communities since there are people, animals and motorcycles on the narrow roads. Our expectations of this trip were met and soared above, everything, even the incredible thunder storm in the middle of our first morning (sleeping), was fabulous! Hiking to see gorillas and walking with the chimps were favorite treks. Food was AWESOME, and we are vegetarians (but eat some dairy and fish), and there were delicious vegan meals too. Our favorite lodging was at The Bush Lodge, where when we turned out our patio tent lights, a hippo and water buffalo foraged nearby, and slightly further away, a lion roared! On our last day Elias had a guide/driver from Lake Bunyonyi (ahhh, talk about relaxing!) take us to Rwandan border, while Oscar, met us and patiently waited while we went through customs. He is Rwandan so knew the country well and took us to lunch and then the Genocide museum before taking us to the airport. He was a most excellent driver. We like that Home To Africa gives back to the community and is a Ugandan-based tour company. Yes, we highly recommend them!

Excellent Tour Operator
Thanks so much to Elias for helping to organise our trip, and to Paul for being such an excellent guide. I was amazed and how quickly and efficiently Elias was able to communicate via email. I would literally receive responses within minutes which made planning very easy. He was quickly on hand to amend our plans when the airline changed our flight home. The tour was great, some of the accommodation was really special and memorable and the Gorilla track was a genuine once in a lifetime experience that was worth every cent. I can only encourage anyone looking to travel to East Africa to put your trust in Home to Africa, as I doubt you’ll find a better option in this region that offers such great value.

Èxcellent trip...well organised
The trip exceeded expectations from the great communication with Elias at the outset to the sad goodbye to our driver/ guide Karim at the end of 16 days. Very well organised, we felt privileged to be shown Uganda by such a great guide and always felt our comfort and enjoyment was Karim's number 1 priority. If I was to change anything it would be to have spent longer with Home to Africa looking after us ...thank you.

Amazing experiences in Uganda with Home To Africa
We have just returned from an 11 day to Uganda with Home To Africa. Everything went incredibly smoothly. Our guide, Sam, was knowledgeable, friendly and open to just about any conversation. We saw all the animals we had hoped for (gorillas, chimps, lions, giraffes, zebras and elephants) and a myriad of different types of antelope. The leopard remained elusive so we may have to come back! Sam is an excellent spotter and he also knows birds very well. This was our first visit to Africa and first safari. A memorable trip indeed.
The office team was responsive from first inquiry through the booking process and beyond. All our questions were answered, usually within a few hours in spite of an 8-hour time difference. This was an easy trip to arrange and the staff deserves all the credit.
As a bonus, Home To Africa supports local charity works. In addition to the donation they make when you book, we had the opportunity to visit a local community and meet children - mostly orphaned - for whom we had brought school supplies and clothing. This was a very special opportunity to experience Uganda.

Professional guide and a pleasant experience!
I was going on a gorilla safari with my friend and this was going to be the first ever safari for the both of us. Luckily, the communication with the office was super easy and we got answers to all of the questions we needed. The driver / guide (Sam) was very professional and funny and made our time very pleasant. Also, he had a proper knowledge of the local area close to the Mgahinga national park and he promptly spoke some 7 languages which we thought was super positive.
The safari was surely the highlight of out East African trip!

Great experience at a good price
Ilya responded promptly to our enquiry, and a few emails later put a schedule that fit our dates and budget.
Karim, our guide was excellent - a font of knowledge about the country, the Parks, the animals, culture and all sorts of other interesting stuff. He was professional, caring and courteous at all times.
The accommodation booked was great and fit our budget.
The parks and the safari were fascinating; a window to Africa. The mountain gorillas in Bwindi were the highlight of our visit and highly recommended in spite the high permit cost.
Thank you to the team for an unforgettable trip!

A great way to see and connect with Uganda, with a Ugandan host.
We chose Home to Africa because we wanted to use a local Ugandan company. Our safari was everything we had hoped for in terms of the extraordinary parks, the wildlife and the lodges. But what made the trip for us was our guide Derrick who was a genuine and enthusiastic local host. Everywhere we went, we met people who knew and liked him - hotel staff, rangers and other guides - and in each case his contacts added something new to our trip. Elias in the office was clear and helpful as we planned our trip, communication was good and everything went precisely to plan. We will certainly travel with Home to Africa Again.

The tour was very professionally organised. The driver/guide was superb and accommodation and food.
Communication by email was almost instant which was the reason we chose Home to Africa. Nothing was too much trouble. The safari tour was well up to expectation and the driver/guide tried his utmost to make every day memorable and exceptional.

The most memorable experience of our lives..
We traveled to Uganda to celebrate a milestone 60th birthday of our mom, and to visit her hometown after she left 45 years ago. Home to Africa catered to every piece of this experience, making it the most memorable trip for us. Everything was incredible from the moment online communication started with their team. Responses were prompt, and the planning of our itinerary was easy with their expertise and partnerships with great accommodations and restaurants. Our guide Karim was excellent, had patience, was very informative, and so kind. The entire staff even surprised us with a 60th birthday celebration and cake at their office on our last day. Home to Africa took us safely to the beautiful jungle for gorilla trekking in Bwindi, and then gracefully brought my our mother home - literally to her house - in Bombo where she was born. This company cares. Thanks for an amazing heartfelt experience Elias and Home to Africa!

Great value for a great trip
We had a wonderful experience with Home to Africa Tours and Travel. From start to finish, they were quick to respond to our questions/requests, attentive to our needs, and very flexible. We loved that our tour was flexible and we could change some things as we went. Our guides, Nasser and Paul, were very knowledgeable on the wildlife, nature and history of Uganda. We also were very grateful for our guides who provided a safe way to get around Uganda. I always felt comfortable and safe with our guides navigating the less than perfect roads throughout the parks and countryside. They are very experienced in driving all the roads in Uganda. We really loved all the activities that we did and felt like we had an overall good value for the trip. We really appreciated Home to Africa's patience and accommodation to our needs, and would definitely come back and take a tour with them again. Hopefully, we will be back soon!
