Fabulous organization, communication and service!
Home to Africa Tours and Travel is a first class safari and travel tour operation company! From the moment I sent my first email inquiring about their services to the last drop off to Entebbe International Airport, everything they did exceeded my expectations. The organization and communication were always efficient and top notch; including answering my questions in a timely manner, providing sufficient details to the days' itineraries and meeting safari schedules. Our guide, Paul, was friendly, knowledgeable and fun to be around. The accommodations, food and transportation were also fantastic! The best thing about Home to Africa Tours and Travel company is that it gives back to the community of Uganda by giving a portion of its safari fees to help a school in Buwenge, Jinge. It is not just a company providing great tours of Uganda, it is a company looking out for the future of Ugandan children. (One of the favourite parts of our holiday was spending a day with the school's administrators and children, in addition to bringing donated school supplies for them.) Thank you Home to Africa Tours and Travel for making our Ugandan memories so special!

First trip to Uganda
Our first trip to Uganda was great. Home to Africa Tours and Travel looked after us well. We were very lucky to see the tree climbing lions in Ishasha, had great sightings of the Gorillas up close. By chance ended up in a Chimp trek instead of a nature walk. That was fantastic, would have been very disappointed to have missed it and learnt it was an option to do instead of a nature walk, definitely clients should be advised of this option. The travel company cannot be blamed for the state of the roads in parts of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, but it would have good to advise clients of it in advance, plus the lengthy duration of travel between each place on the itinerary. I myself requested most of the lodges, but didn't realise per example there was an hours drive from Park View Safari Lodge to where we would be doing the safari. That would have influenced my decision on where to stay. In saying that Park View was a fantastic lodge.
Thank you for being understanding
Unfortunately due to personal emergency, we had to cancel our tour to Uganda from the US. Edward and his team were very understanding and had meticulous follow up. The attention to detail and communication during the planning process was exceptional but to see this service after we cancelled is rare in a company.
We hope to reschedule soon.
Excellent Customer Service
Home to Africa Tours and Travel was one of the most accommodating operators I have worked with. I received prompt emails and communications and excellent customer service in regards to customizing my tour with personalized needs. Edward and his team were completely professional and respectful, and I very much appreciated all of their hospitality and support.

Good service for the price
Edward was extremely communicative before I arrived in Uganda and was willing to work with me to build a package within my budget. They picked me up at my guest house in Entebbe but the safari car they picked me up in ended up having some issues so we had to switch to my guides personal van. It ended up working out fine but this put our schedule off track. They also over charged me by $20 upon arrival but by the time I noticed I was not able to meet them to get it back. All in all, if you're looking for a budget safari Home to Africa is a great option.

Posted on Dec 8, 2016Great to hear from you Neely, we are glad that you had a successful Safari. we are really sorry that the car we had later developed some mechanical problem, this was not speculated. December being a high season all our cars were engaged and we had to find a quick solution that later worked-out for us. This did not cost us not more-than one hour .
Your Safari was"a short notice request" and you preferred to pay by cash . we did not charge you 20$ as you mentioned , you paid in extra 20$ which was not noticed by both parties as you were setting off for your safari.
We are glad to say that we paid it out as per your request , payment was effected there and then and you acknowledged . We will be glad to have you on our safari once again . as our slogan - Hospitality Beyond Boarders

Great safari
I had a great time on the safari. Home to Africa arranged a great 5-day gorilla safari tour for me. They did not just follow my own instructions on what I wanted to see but they also had some good suggestions for my time in Uganda. Together we combined it into a great tour. The accommodation during the safari was perfect and the tours that were arranged were fabulous. We were never in a hurry and even during the day I could ask about things I wanted to see or do. Also everywhere we went the people were friendly. Paul, my guide during the safari, knew a lot about Uganda, Eastern Africa, animals, culture and history. That made my experience complete!
