Way beyond my expectations! 5 Star!
If you ever booked a trip through international travel agent, you know that the first day equals to arrival, the last day equals to departure, a 13-day trip will leave you 11 days. But this is not the case for this local travel agent Home To Africa Tours and Travel: I was picked up in the early morning on day 1 from Kigali airport in Rwanda, driven entire day to Nyungwe Forest National Park. The next morning, my guide Theo picked me up at 4am from the hotel, drove to the National Park for Chimpanzee Trekking. In the next few days, I hiked to 12,000 ft Mount Bisoke, did Golden Monkey trekking. Then I was transferred to Uganda, started 8-day safari in this Pearl of Africa.
I have done many safaris in other part of Africa, like Tanzania, Namibia and South Africa, but the safari experience in Uganda was way beyond my expectations: I saw almost all kinds of wild animals, and so many of them, even including the very illusive leopard with twin babies 2 meters away! These could happen all because of my guide William from Home To Africa Tours and Travel, he cherished my time even more than me: we were the first left the safari lodge every morning and the last left the National Park, so we could encounter so many amazing animals in the early hours and late hours of the day.
William did not want me to have any regret before leaving his country: after knowing that I did not have the luck to see chimps in Rwanda, he rearranged a Chimpanzee Trekking in Uganda for me. With a local guide and only myself, I had the chance to see more than 20 chimps in the family of 58, including many playful babies and juveniles! I could not say enough Thank You to William!
On the last day of my 13-day safari in Rwanda/Uganda, we needed to drive 7 hours to airport to catch my flight at 6pm, they still fit me in with one-hour Rhino Trekking, I was lucky enough to see baby Rhino suckling!
Not only the guides, the staff at Home To Africa Tours and Travel were extremely helpful too, they provided me all the detailed information, answered my question literally in a few minutes—then I realized sometimes it was already past their midnight—I felt guilty and started to think about their time before emailing questions.
Anyway, this was my best safari experience ever! Highly recommended.

Exciting, satisfying, and worth it!
My wife and i took Home to Africa’s 4-Day Short Vacation to Uganda - Gorilla Trekking Bwindi.
The tour exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were lovely.
Zed our guide was very helpful, informative and funny. He was very animated and always makes sure that the long drives were lively.
The gorilla trek was exhilarating (even with the challenging hike up, haha). Seeing the gorillas up close is really a once in a lifetime experience.

Unforgettable safari in Uganda, full of magnificent wildlife
I recently completed a 6-day safari with Home to Africa in August 2024, and it was nothing short of excellent. I am fully satisfied with the entire experience!
From the moment I started the booking and organization process, Home to Africa provided highly professional service. They always responded within a few hours, consistently providing the information I needed, which gave me great confidence that I had chosen the right travel agency.
The safari itself was exceptional, thanks to my guide, Vianney. Everything was well organized, and Vianney's warm and welcoming manner made the experience even more enjoyable. What truly stood out was his deep knowledge of Uganda, its wildlife, and its natural beauty. I learned so much about the country and its incredible wildlife, and thanks to Vianney's expertise, we managed to spot and observe many animals.
Thank you very much for an unforgettable safari!

4D/3N Gorilla Trekking + Lake Mburo
We did 4 days Tour with Equator, Gorilla Trekking and Lake Mburo and were super satisfied with the trip!
Derrick Wadria was the perfect guide, funny, knowledgeable and very flexible to meet our needs and schedule.
He had always a smile on his face and this made our trip unforgettable. He also bought bananas and pineapple from the local vendors for us to try and they were delicious.
The meals were always tasty, the quantity was adequate and the places we slept in were really charming.
The setting of the tents in Bwindi was really magic and we loved the night fireplace and the garden around them.
The tent in Lake Mburo was amazing, unfortunately we only slept 1 night there - but the view above the savanna was breathtaking.
Also the management was very accommodating and reassuring as we had to adapt the standard itinerary to our afternoon flight.
Only con was the car, we didn’t get the typical safari jeep but a tourist van - it was okayish but the front seats were staying right above the engine and sometimes it was too warm - plus the windows were smaller.
Plus, please include in the list of what to bring the gloves for gorilla trekking - it was not nice to unexpectedly pay 10$ for a set of gloves.
If we ever come back to Uganda we will definitely book again with Home to Africa and possibly Derrick as guide :)
Thank you!

Wonderful trip thanks to them
It was a huge success to book our 8-day safari with them, they helped us from the first moment to have everything we needed for our trip, but the best part was yet to come and that was meeting our guide Derrick who is a fun, cheerful and He loves his job and shows it in every moment of the safari you spend with him. Without a doubt, the best thing we could choose was Home to Africa with Derrick!
Every second of this safari was truly wonderful!!

Perfect 11 day tour
I went on a 11 day tour around Uganda, with serveral nationalparks and of course chimpanses and gorillas.
Karim was a perfect guide and we had many interesting talks about the animals and Uganda.
Karim is also a very good driver and the lodges were also very nice.
If I come back to Uganda with my family I Will definetly go with Home to Africa and ask for Karim as my guide.

The Perfect Honeymoon- Highly Recommend Home to Africa and William :-)
My husband and I had the most incredible honeymoon in Uganda by booking a 6 Day African Safari and Gorilla Trekking with Home to Africa. Our guide, William, made it such a memorable experience for us. He arranged lots of surprises for us during the trip, with our accommodation decorated in petals, a celebratory honeymoon cake and a private candle lit dinner out in the trees; we truly could not have asked for anything more.
Every one of the lodges we visited were in the most amazing settings and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Uganda truly has the most beautiful scenery that either of us had ever seen. We were having such an amazing time on our tour that we asked William to extend it by one more day and I only wish we could have done more. My advice to anyone booking this would be to take more time at each of the lodges, as each of them have their own special qualities and there is so much to experience.
We were both very excited about the gorilla trekking and it still exceeded our expectations. Words cannot describe what it is like being up so close to these magnificent animals. I just wish we could do it all over again.
All of the nature and wildlife in Uganda is fantastic. As keen birders we were trying to find as many new species as we could on our trip and again William was a great help to us with this. His expertise coupled with the assistance of the knowledgeable staff at each location helped us see over 150 new species within a week. With over 1100 species in Uganda, anyone interested in birds will not be disappointed.
We both highly recommend this trip to anyone considering it and want to say one last massive thank you to William for giving us such a special and memorable honeymoon, with memories that we will treasure forever.

Amazing 10 Day Safari Tour
We had an absolutely amazing experience with Home To Africa on our 10 day Big 5 Safari tour. Derrick our driver and guide was incredible and made us feel welcome to Uganda right when we arrived and went out of his way to make sure every part of our tour went smoothly and stress-free. You could tell right away Derrick was very experienced, well known around the accommodations and national parks and extremely knowledgeable with the animals, primates and birds in Uganda. Any questions we had he knew the answers to and would even provide additional information. We were fortunate enough to see everything we wanted to see on our Safaris and can confidently say Derrick had a large part of it based on his experience and knowledge of the parks. He was always on the lookout for wildlife even when we weren't in the parks and spotted a Shoebill off the side of the road on our way back to Entebbe. The Home To Africa tour was well planned out, accommodations were great with a variety of different types of stays (glamping, treehouse, lake cabin, etc). The food provided and locations chosen for meals were great and had variety. Overall, I would highly recommend Home To Africa not only for the amazing tours but also for the value.
