Excellent tour with loads to see. Soloman our tour guide was amazing.
5/5

Everything was outstanding, we enjoyed every moment. Soloman our tour guide was amazing with lots of information about all the animals. He also went out his way to try to find animals we were keen on. All the staff at the camp were very friendly and helpful. Overall a brilliant experience.

4-days safari in Maasai Mara and Nakuru
5/5

We loved our experience. Our guide (Robert) did everything possible to ensure that we saw as many animals as possible, which was the case. He also answered all of our questions regarding flora ans fauna, and was very patient and kind with us, making sure we were always happy. Would totally recommend! Thanks again Robert!

Reliable company, great experience during covid pandemic
5/5

We travelled from the UK so distant organisation is always stressful but the team was in touch with us and replied emails quickly and provided all the information in advance.
We had to pay a deposit in advance via the bank link they provided - that was safe. The rest we paid in cash upon arrival.
Guide and driver were always on time and very friendly.
The car could be newer but nothing to complain about really.
We got the first choice of hotels and glamping which was nice.
We are really grateful to James, our guide, who was really helpful and made sure we saw all the animals (even though sometimes that meant we had to wake up at 6am).

Lennox organised a fantastic trip for me. He was very flexible on plans and responded to all my questions very quickly. Jimmy the tour guide for Mount Kenya was extremely knowledgable and a nice guy. James was also great for the Maasai Mara trip. Overall very impressed and a fantastic holiday for me - I would recommend.

Professional crew which loves what they do!
5/5

Setup: we booked a 5 days Mount Kenya trip (basic setup with tent) and a 9 day private safari in from mount Kenya to Diani Beach (more luxury than mid). Due to corona every was very quite and most resorts had only a few guests + we were alone on the mt. Kenya. So perfect time to enjoy yourself.

Tdlr: we loved it.

+ very experienced crew
+ because of the size of the org. fallback options
+ very good local network of the guides/driver (which is key to see game or sth unexpected happens)
+ you can (besides 100$) pay on arrival with a fair $/€ rate
+ easy and fast planning/communication via whatsapp
+ The owner matched us with a fun and very knowledgeable guide/driver who loves his job and lives and breathes game drives. We saw the big five and since he knows a lot of ppl you will have some special experiences a normal group wouldn’t have access to. We highly recommend you to ask for Kikitu as a guide!

Important note: keep in mind that on top of the costs for the booking following tips are expected by the crew: All per day for the group. 20$ For the mountain guide; 15$ for the cook and 10$ per porter (we had 3); for the driver/guide are no real recommendations but plan with at least 10$ per person per day. We also tipped 10$ per night for the resort crew.

Mt. kenya: We had a very experienced crew on the mountain with a great cook (crazy what Peter prepared on the mountain / don’t bring your own food on top...) and a guide (Charles) who was on top of everything + had the right feeling for attention. We liked how he handled the situation of lite altitude sickness. Be aware that most routes on the mountain include a 1000m climb on one day which is normally to much in these heights and often leads to headaches (or worse). So plan with a rest / light day. The tent was very good. Only recommendation - if you have already a nice and light mattress - bring it.

Safari: due to corona it was very quite where ever we went. Which means: few cars hunting one leopard, empty pools, very attendant bar keepers, best rooms/views in the lodges and dinner a la cart instead of buffet. Best lodge we had was “the cliff” esp. in terms of food and room. All other lodges where also outstanding in terms of views (game in front of your room/tent) and service (we could always choose between to when we planned the trip)! I could imagine that in normal time they are not so quite and the common areas could feel a bit more like a canteen in Disneyland.
We had a 4x4 car which you don’t need but was of course more comfortable and allows you to get to some points which wouldn’t be accessible otherwise.
We had 9 days and stayed in only two resorts for two nights. Since the distances between the parks a quite long (often 4-7h) we would recommend to do more 2 night stops and discuss the travel times with your agency when you book/plan - otherwise it can get quite exhausting. We took most of the time lunch to go to - to make the trip a bit more relaxed. We enjoyed the 9 days since all parks have a different scenery but probably 6-7 days would be enough to get a good overview and see most of the animals.

Thanks a lot to the crew!!!

Individual safari with very experienced guide
5/5

We booked a 4-days safari for 2 people with Captain Abdalla as our tour guide for the whole trip.

Communication: The communication before the safari worked out perfectly via Email and Whatsapp. Lennox from Axis was very helpful to adjust the itinerary and arranging the payments via our hotel in Kenia.

Service: Both car and driver were perfect for that long rides. Abdalla is a very experienced driver in all terrains and knows how to fix minor issues at his car by his own. We felt very safe and throughout the whole journey Abdalla explained a lot about the country, culture and of course animals. He was extremely passionate about the wildlife and nature protection.

Safari: Abdalla spotted so many animals without binoculars and at full speed. We have even seen many animals outside the national parks. No matter which park we visited, we had always the impression he knows most animals in person and can tell an interesting story about the animal, its family or its history. The hotel which where picked by Axis were all gorgeous. We went for the more luxurious accommodations and didn’t regret it a second. After our official safari, we were dropped directly at our hotel.

Recommendation: As the hotels where all extremely nice, it would have been worthwhile to stay there a bit longer. Either for a longer break (whole afternoon) between the safaris or an extra day in between. Maybe it’s worthwhile to offer a package with 4 nights as well to allow a bit more relaxation time between the long rides. We would consider that for the future! Especially as you can watch so many animals for the hotel ground as each accommodation was located in the parks
