An experience of a lifetime
5/5

We had great communication from the start and they were VERY flexible with us according to our needs!

I have been on safari twice before, but this topped those two experiences combined. We got to see all the big 5’s, 4 cheetahs hunting and taking a prey, leopard fighting with a hyena, eye to eye with a big lion family only 1 meter away. This trip got us present in the moment for 5 days and that was an amazing experience. This was all thanks to our guide Ken. He did all he could to chase those perfect moments and was extremely knowledgeable about both the animales, culture and nature.

We are very satisfied with the trip and think it was great value for the money!

If you consider going, we would highly recommend the ballon tour as well!

Your "go- to guide' in Kenya beyond Safari!
5/5

Lennox and his team are extremely professional! From the moment of choosing a tour, inquiring about details to booking and the Safari itself. Lennox went the extra mile every time to support me on any other question related to Kenya. We ended up booking a private 6 day/ 5 night Safari. Accommodation, planning, execution its all above our expectations, my 8 yo daughter has lots of excitement from seeing the main 5 animals. Our guide knew exactly what time and where to be to capture those moments, unlike other guides and tours who ended up not seeing much. Can't thank you enough for this experience and highly recommend it to my friends who plan the visit.

Mt. Kenya "A spiritual walk everyone should embark on in their life time".
5/5

To start off; Lennox with Axis Africa was very helpful with the advising process on what tour to take. He'd review your level of physical fitness with you, your objective, your expectations and your availability. After that he'll email you detailed options of tours for you to choose from accompanied with his recommendation based on what you are looking for. His response was very prompt. His description of how the day will turn out on day 1 (from pick up to beginning of the hike) was exact. I greatly appreciated this; because embarking on such a lengthy journey can come with a level of anxiety.

Before I proceed; I feel it is important I share the purpose on why I embarked on this hike. My Goal was to spiritually connect with Ngai (God); to understand why my ancestors took on a similar pilgrimage in order to present themselves in Ngai's powerful & divine presence and pray to him.

Meeting my tour guides - Jimmy Kinyua, Franco (Best Chef Ever!!) and David (my porter) was a divine connection.

Mr. Kinyua reached out to me the day before I drove myself to Nanyuki to ensure I had everything I needed and to discuss a preferred rendezvous point. Through that conversation I realized I had left my facial cover (balaclava mask) behind. Mr. Kinyua offered to personally buy me one and to worry about it. On the night before met - he text me to ensure I went to bed at decent time to ensure optimal rest.

Day 1 - We met up at the agreed upon location; loaded up our gear and headed to the Sirimon Gate. Prior to our departure; Chef Franco whipped up an delicious healthy meal. They made sure I was mentally ready prior to taking off. They were all very involved and checking up on me to make sure all was good to go.

Day 1 to Day 5: As soon as I shared my purpose of taking this journey; they literally walked with me in it. Mr. Kinyua is an encyclopedia of cultural wisdom. He understood the mission from the get go and taylored the hike to it's actual purpose. I had brought my JBL hiking mini speaker to listen to my kikuyu music; however I ended up loving Kinyua's playlist - songs that were accompanied by cultural lessons narrated by Kinyua.

Every night they'd sort out my tent, ensuring I was comfortable (in the presence of rain, the cold & heavy snow). Every morning; they'd be awake before you are and you'd find a cup of hot chai and warm breakfast waiting for you. Did I mention Chef Franco's skills are out of this world?

Throughout the hike; they paced themselves in line my physical ability. I wasn't rushed, they were extremely patient, they gave plenty of advice on how to safely accomplish the daily long hikes ( 6 to 8 hour hikes). They were very informative; especially on safety measures. Chef Franco's first aide kit is extra equipped - I thought mine was. I'd be very surprised if he didn't pull out an automatic defibrillator from him kit. The night after our summit - I lost my vision in the middle of the night - pitch black. For a good 3 to 4 hours. I was disappointed and thought to myself; we'd have to contact the air medic services to air lift me. Kinyua and David knew what to do as soon as they recognized what had happened, they placed warm tea bags over my eyes and soon my sight was back (fully back in 8 or so hours).

The day that we summited; it was just Kinyua and I up there. Surprisingly, no one else was there. Like I said; he understood the mission. For a period of 30 to 45 minutes at Lenena Point; we embraced the moment, deeply prayed together and spiritually connected with Ngai.

I am forever indebted to those 3 gentlemen. We safely made it back down to Chogoria.

My recommendation to anyone hiking:
- Attentively listen to your guide. There was a couple that didn't listen to their guides recommendation of summiting with us and ended up being unable to summit the following day because of the heavy rainfall and snow that followed after our descend. (We prayed for rain & he answered).
- Open up about your objective to your guide.
- Be patient with your body - it's not at easy climb.
- Tip your guides, chefs and porters. They are literally taking care of you. $15 to $20 a day if you can.
- Be present in the moment. I now understand the wisdom in the life's philosophy my ancestors put in place. Abundant Love and Servitude; greatest legacy anyone can ever leave behind.

I know it's a long review. I have so much to share.

Amazing tour, much more than expected
5/5

I had very good contact with Lennox/Axis to prepare the tour. The recommendations were helpful and he could adapt easily with flexibility to our requests.
We went for a budget 6 days safari and visited Masai-Mara, Nakuru, Naivasha, Hells gate and Amboseli. The accommodations were beyond our expectations.
Peter was our driver/guide for the safari. we highly appreciated his soft and careful driving on the adventurous roads and tracks of Kenya. He is a real professional knowing where, when and how find any animal and then place his vehicle to take the best picture. We were a family group of 3 generations and Peter was so patient and kind with everyone. He could answer all our silly questions on the name of the plants and birds, the wild life and the behavior of the animals...
I recommend Axis Africa for the good organization and certainly Peter as an exceptional guide.

What an experience!
5/5

From the moment we were met in Nairobi by Ken and Robert until we said farewell to them in Malindi, we had the most amazing experience. Their professionalism and expertise made our safari very special. The five night tour started in Amboseli, where we were lucky enough to see two cheetahs among many other animals. We then took in Tsavo West and Tsavo East, where we witnessed a pair of mating lions. Ken and Robert are both very knowledgeable about the many bird species in East Africa and their enthusiasm helped to turn the novice bird watchers in the party into keen spotters. "Ken, Stop! What is that up in that tree?" "Well, what do you see? Is it the Tawny Eagle? How can you tell? Look at the book here."
My personal favourite was watching the Carmine Bee-eater take off and return several times to the same post, having snapped up a butterfly.
There were so many memorable moments, spectacular views of Kilimanjaro, elephants in Amboseli, hippos in the lake, a secretary bird, the lava flows and the Mzima Springs in Tsavo West, the Bateleur Eagle and the Egyptian Vulture in Tsavo East.
A huge thank you to Ken and Robert for making our safari so much fun.

Serious, punctual and kind, perfect safari
5/5

Everything has been perfect from start to end with Axis Africa Expeditions & Safaris.
Initial communication with Lennox via safaribooking in the first place was very good. Quick answer and clear proposal, it sounded very serious and that's what motivated my choice for that company.
About the experience itself, it was simply magical, we did 3 days in Masai Mara and 1 day at Nakuru, what an extraordinary experience!!
Our driver Robert is one of the best driver I've ever seen. Very kind, flexible, always calm and puntual, it was a pleasure to get to know him. He knows extremely well both Masai Mara and Nakuru which is very helpful for an amazing experience.
We were very motivated to start the days as early as possible and Robert was always up for it, no need to say that he loves his job and he's very good at it.
We can't wait to come back to Kenya and of course we will pick Axis Safaris once again.

Amazing tour spotting the Big 5!!
5/5

We did the six day tour from Masai Mara to amboseli and it was spectacular. We were able to see all of the Big 5 safari animals and our driver John really knew what he was doing. All accommodations were clean and comfortable for our stay. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a 5 star safari experience on a budget.

Amazing experience with an amazing guide
5/5

We had a perfect experience with this safari tour from day 1.
First it was very convenient to organize our trip, with a dedicated team, very responsive on WhatsApp.
When we arrived in Nairobi, our driver was waiting for us directly so we did not struggle to find anything. And then we started our trip in Kenya.
I want to really thank our driver - Jack - who was very fun, nice and knew everything about the animals. Thanks to him we saw the big 5 the first day of our trip (we were so lucky!!) and many more animals during our safari. He was even able to detect a leopard hidden in the bush!
Thanks again to him and all the team, I definitely recommend this safari trip and Jack our guide

Journey beyond expectations
5/5

We would like to say thanks to Axis Safaris for organizing such an amazing tour!

We booked a 5 day safari, Masai Mara - Naivasha lake- Amoseli national park. Lennox helped a lot, answered to our emails very quickly and was always in touch, keeping updated about the changes in the COVID rules.

Accommodation of the tour was on a very high standard. Lenchada camp in Masai Mara was budget but still had its unique vibe.( there was still hot water all the time, and own bathroom inside). The place that we loved the most was Sopa lodge at Naivasha lake. It was absolutely charming, with wild animals walking around the hotel territory, We saw zebras and giraffes from our room, it was an amazing experience, we could get really close to them. Kibo camp at Amboseli was also very nice, the entrance to the park was 5 minutes away.

Especially, we would like to say thanks to our guide BEN, who provided excellent service during the whole tour. We saw everything that was possible during the safari, all big five except the rhino. Ben managed to get to animals very fast and close and always chose the best spot for the pictures and the view even when there were a few cars around. During the Masai Mara safari at the end of the day Ben found 4 cheetahs that were far from the road and we could capture the whole scene of them hunting successfully.
He answered all the questions sincerely, with a good sense of humor, was involved and tried to help when it was needed. We were very lucky to have Ben as our guide!

We had an amazing experience!!!

We highly recommend to take a 5 day tour with Axis Safaris, it’s a great ratio of price and quality.
