A decent agency, everything went well.
We had a good experience with Axis Africa Safaris but I think the communication from their side should be improved. We booked the budget option for Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru and made the reservation about 2 months in advance. Ever since we transferred the deposit we didn't hear anything from them again up until 2 days before our safari when we contacted them ourselves. We started to worry that the agency could be a scam due to that. We also didn't receive any information regarding our itinerary, with specific details about our accommodation, drivers etc. Everything went well eventually and everyone was extremely welcoming and helpful from the moment the safari started. The camp and lodge we stayed were very nice. The food was ok in general with some exceptions that it was not good. The highlight of our safari was our driver.
We had a great time with Jeff as our driver! He was super experienced and very professional. He was amazing at spotting animals and always positioned the car... Read more in the best spot possible to have a great view of the animals. He clearly had a lot of knowledge regarding all the animals we encountered, he gave us a lot of informatio, and was happy to answer all our questions. Overall, we were very happy with Jeff!

Great Experience
The safari itself was excellent. Johnny was a great guide and it was well structured and organised.
Communications with Axis were great throughout.
I would pay extra to avoid staying at any KSLH properties (Voi & Ngulia) next time though, these were both poor and in need of refurbishment, Ngulia was especially bad.
Oltukai Lodge on our first night stop was excellent.

Great! Went the extra mile for all we needed in the trip, BIG5in1day! Always in a good mood!
The service Axis provided corresponds to the description. They were very responsive the whole time, realiable pick-up in Nairobi, friendly services the whole time. The tour is worth doing to know Masai Mara. The lodge was modest, yet confortable and very clean. Peixes should be negotiated, as there are several companies doing the same packages for lower prices.

They were great, we had an incredible experience
It was an incredible experience and we saw sooooo much! We covered so much ground to see loads of animals which was amazing! My only negative is that we never really knew what was going on and we’re told times that weren’t stuck to, so we were hanging around a lot waiting and unsure when we’d leave or when we’d eat but this got better over the trip. Overall, I would recommend this! We loved our upgraded accommodation and have so many great photos with our memories!

Gerald 100%
Gerald: Gerald's boundless energy and sense of humor was a delightful touch to the adventure. His extensive knowledge of Kenya's wildlife was impressive, and he consistently led us to the most captivating animal sightings.
Throughout the tour, Gerald expertly balanced excitement and safety, ensuring an exhilarating yet secure experience. His navigation skills were top-notch, allowing us to explore the terrain efficiently. From witnessing the magnificent Maasai Mara wildlife to the serene beauty of Nakuru, the tour provided unforgettable moments. Thanks to Gerald, this safari became an unforgettable journey filled with nature's wonders.
Axis: In terms of communication, the response time was good, although there could be room for improvement, especially when it comes to updating their listings. There are recent changes at the Maasai Mara National Park entrance, and it would be helpful if such updates were reflected in their information.
When it comes to value for... Read more money, this tour is quite budget-friendly, which is a definite plus. However, it would be beneficial if they could provide clearer guidelines on tipping and the Maasai tipping expectations to ensure a smoother experience for travelers.

Always got the best angles to view Big 5
The trip was well organized.
I especially like our group with a fun vibe and our guide, Moses always made sure we got the best angles to shoot animals and spent enough time watching them.
Well designed package
Our guide/driver Albert was great. He had very good knowledge about the animals and the areas. Hotels were good too

Good experience
We went on a 3 day 2 night Safari to Masai Mara.
Our driver Solomon was a very capable driver who was prompt, kept us on schedule and maneuvered to get us close to see all of the animals. We saw the big 5 thanks to his skills. We got stuck in the mud and through hard work he was able to get us out.
The reason we give 4 stars is because we felt we were not provide much information about Masai Mara (historical and present day) neither the towns we drove through. We saw animals but didn't feel like we learned much. Also, we informed Axis that we had two big suitcases as we were concerned if they would fit in the Jeep. They indicated that they should fit in the Jeep. When we arrived they informed us that the suitcases couldn't fit. We had to scramble to repack our things into our hand luggage in the tiny room in their office and then leave our big suitcases there.
Lastly I recommend providing a tip sheet so persons are better prepared. For example masks for the... Read more dust, motion sickness needs for the very bumpy roads etc.
We stayed at Enkorok camp which we review separately from Axis which we found to have exceptional service.
