The best informative Safari with Rodger number one guide
We booked axis safaris as the package was inclusive of park fee's so we knew we had no surprises in terms of cost, the company was also comparitive in terms of cost against other tour companies.
We got a full itinerary and was booked up in Nairobi from our Airbnb on time, and arrived at the booking office to pay.
We also wanted to do hot air balloon tour which axis arranged for us through another company.
Rodger our guide, was without a doubt the highlight of the trip. He showed us the big five, going above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience and was able to see the animals up close and get great pictures and videos.
Rodger made sure everyone in the group knew what time to be ready for each morning, but had a no rush approach to our day, putting our experience first.
5 stars for axis, and if you get the chance request Rodger to be your guide and you will not be disappointed!

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had! Rodger our your guide was very experienced and knowledgeable. He made sure to always give us time to take pictures and explain everything thoroughly. The trip is worth every penny! Highly recommend!

Fantastic Kenya trip, expertly planned—highly recommend！
I had an amazing week in Kenya thanks to our fantastic guide, Khalifa, and the travel agency, Axis. The tour was well-organized, and Khalifa was not only experienced but also reliable. We saw all the Big Five, and he ensured we had the best experience. Highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to explore Kenya!

Ken was an amazing tour guide. His knowledge and experience of Maasi Mara is incredible. 10/10 guide
We started off our Safari in Nairobi where we were collected by Ken and made our way to the Maasai Mara. We stopped at the Rift Valley to take in the wonderful views and then continued down to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Once we checked in we got some lunch and Ken then collected us for an evening game drive. We got to see so many incredible animals on our 1st day. The second day started early as we booked a hot air balloon for 6:30am so we were up at 4am to get ready and make our way to the location the balloon departed a from. This is a must! It was an incredible experience were we saw thousands of animals grazing, hunting and migrating. Once we landed we made our way for a beautiful breakfast on the reserve with Zebra and Wilderbeast in the distance. The food was 10/10 and scenery 100/10! Once we finished breakfast Ken collected us and brought us on an incredible safari for the entire day. We saw Lions, Cheetahs, Elephants, Hippos, Crocodiles, Hyenas, buffalo, zebra, giraffes, wilder beats and many more. Ken knows the park like the back of his hand and is incredible knowledge and information about the different animals and the park was truly remarkable. Ken made our safari the most amazing experience ever. I couldn’t recommend a better tour guide than Ken!

Excellent organisation with great guides!
We were recommended Axis Safari by our friend who has used this compqny twice before. We spoke to Winnie who was very helpful and responsive any time we messaged. She helped to book our dream 4-day honeymoon safari!
Our Tour Guide was Collin Sempele who is a gem of a person, kind-hearted and very respectful about the animals and natural surroundings. He is also of Maasai origin and provided unique perspectives on the park and its history. This was very important to us as we believe in sustainable tourism. Sempele was incredibly knowledgable and made our trip highly enjoyable!
Sempele took us to an evening game drive where we saw elephants, buffalos and even some lions on the hunt. The highlight was being able to see the Crossing of the Mara River (part of the Great Migration to Serengeti) which we only saw because of Sempele’s great guidance and patience. Aside from this, we saw many incredible animals and got great photographs! We aren’t avid photographers but Sempele provided great tips, ensured we got good angles and even shared some of his own photos and videos.
We will definitely be recommending Sempele and Axis to our friends and family!

A Fabulous company, fantastic experience, a truly memorable time!
We had the most amazing safari experience with Axis Africa and with our tour guide Jack! Everything was perfect- Jack was able to drive on tough roads, spot and point out animals and answer all our questions all while driving, it was very impressive. We saw lots of animals and even when driving between parks Jack would give us information on local trees and birds which was great. We had several different groups of people during our tour and he made everyone feel just as welcome- Jack really made our trip! The truck was very comfortable, great value for money, accommodations were comfortable and we were always well fed. Thank you Axis for making our Kenyan safari so memorable

Axis Africa did a great job. Everything was perfectly organise and Roger, our tour guide was great.
Roger was the best guide. Everyone in Masai Mara knows him cos he’s the boss! He got us the best views of all the animals, compared to other tour guides, and was very informative as well. He knew what he was doing and where to find the animals.

We love Axis and Jack
The 5 day tour was perfect. All the accommodations were extremely comfortable and the food was delicious. The tour bud was very comfortable too and we had plenty of space for all our luggage. The highlight however was our guide Jack. He was such a wonderful man, he answered every question we had, could identify everything and taught us so much about both the nature and life in Kenya. I wish we could spend more time with him and his infectious laughter. I 100% believe that if you book with axis you will not be disappointed

Very patient and skilled
As a photographer accompanying a guest in the Mara, I had the pleasure of going on a game drive with our guide, Yasin, and I must say — he was exceptional!
He knew exactly where to take us for the most breathtaking views and perfect photo angles. Every stop felt thoughtfully chosen, and his deep knowledge of wildlife and the land made the experience even more special.
Thanks to Yasin, we didn’t just see the Mara — we felt its magic.

A truly memorable safari experience with Axis Africa and our amazing guide, Kevin Apidi
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Axis Africa Safaris from start to finish. From the very beginning, Lucy made the entire booking process extremely smooth and comfortable. She was always prompt in her responses, patiently answered all our questions, and ensured that every detail was taken care of well in advance. All the financial transactions were handled with complete transparency and ease, which gave us great confidence and peace of mind.
Our guide, Kevin Apidi, truly made our safari special. He was not only knowledgeable about the Kenyan wildlife, and the local culture, but also incredibly friendly and approachable. He was a walking and talking encyclopaedia on all things wildlife and local culture . He answered every question we could throw at him. His calm demeanour, fluency in communication, and genuine passion for what he does made a big difference to our overall experience.
Kevin felt more like a friend travelling with us rather than just a guide - always cheerful, helpful, and full of interesting insights. We appreciated how he went out of his way to make us comfortable and ensure we made the most of every moment. Most of all, he was just fun to be around!
We left with wonderful memories, beautiful videos and photographs, and a deep appreciation for Kenya’s natural beauty. We would definitely recommend Axis Africa Safaris - and especially our guide Kevin Apidi - to anyone planning a trip to the Mara. We are already looking forward to travelling again in the future!
