Great Experience
The safari itself was excellent. Johnny was a great guide and it was well structured and organised.
Communications with Axis were great throughout.
I would pay extra to avoid staying at any KSLH properties (Voi & Ngulia) next time though, these were both poor and in need of refurbishment, Ngulia was especially bad.
Oltukai Lodge on our first night stop was excellent.

Amazing experience
Highly recommend the safari. My friend and I did the 4 day tour and was lucky to see so many animals up close. Many beautiful birds, trees and saw the big 5.

Amazing 6-day adventure on Mt Kenya
Via Whatsapp we had a very smooth communication to tailor the tour to our needs.
You can trust that you will get a good value for your money.
We would like to thank our guide Jimmy for sharing his knowledge of the mountain and keeping us safe at all times; Marlon (the chef) for preparing nice meals in harsh conditions; and the porters China, Francis and Ben for carrying everything, serving our meals and setting up camp.
This extraordinary team made us feel comfortable and safe during the trip.
Don't hesitate to contact them for your mount Kenya trip!

Johny was patient, informative, helpful, skillful, and a tremendous warm welcome to Kenya!
Right before leaving Kenya, I last minute booked this safari from a referral of a friend at an hostel I was staying at, and I’m beyond thrilled about my experience! It was a perfect trip filled with adventure, entertainment, thrills, education, and connection with my tour group. All the made better by our guide Johny who made the safari 10x better with his tactful driving, big animal searching, and welcoming character.
We saw 4 of the Big 5 and Johny made sure to do his best to get us the best photograph angles and viewing. I’m ecstatic about my pictures to share with my friends! We had a real African safari experience, and I hope to return again. Can’t recommend this company and guide enough! Thank you!

If you book with Axis Africa, make sure Jeff is NOT your guide
To be clear, it wasn't all bad. The booking went fine, the agent was informative and helpful, the price was right, and the tented camp we stayed in was pleasant. But what you need most on a tour is a tour guide, and Jeff was anything but. He was our driver, and nothing more.
At the beginning of day 1 Jeff told us to ask questions, and generally one would expect those questions to be answered in addition to the guided tour, but what we got was a few, simple words to answer questions, and further questions seemed unwelcome. In what probably amounted to 20+ hours in the vehicle over 3 days, he maybe said a total of 200 words to us. He would stop, point, and say "impala" (or something similar) and then continue once we were finished taking photos. We got no information about the reserve, the animals, or what to expect from the day. Over several meals at the camp we heard all the other groups talking about what great guides they had and that saddened/angered me.
So, my review is simple: If you book with Axis Africa make sure Jeff is NOT your guide.

Jack was very knowledgeable and always on time with great skills at finding animals.
We booked a private tour and got a once in a lifetime experience. Jack went above and beyond to ensure we saw every animal possible. There had been heavy rain before we went and Jack navigated the ruts and what seemed impassable roads with ease. We never felt unsafe or stressed in any way. This was the best safari we could ask for!!!
