wonderfull
5/5

We did a 10 day tour.
we visited different parks:
Lake Duluti; we walked and canoed around it, the birdlife was wonderful.
Arusha NP; we spotted the beautiful Colobus monkeys, many birds and other wildlife, even an elephant
came out of the bush for us.
Tarangiri; We did a lot of (early) game driving, sorry John, and saw some amazing things, the black eared
fox, leopard in a tree with his catch. Many elephants drinking in the dry river bed, digging holes
to collect the water.
Lake Manyara; the birdlife in the lake is amazing, but also the klipspringer and the lions were great.
Serengetti; We have never seen so many lions as this year, very special was a mother lion with 5 cubs,
walking and playing close to the car.
Every day we saw more lions, honeymooners, big groups laying on the Kopjes, and we will
never forget the cub laying close to the rocks just looking at us, rolling around and having fun.
The cheetah, who just lied behind a little bush, the Thomson gazelles came too close, off she
went, a kill, just in front of our vehicle.
The Serval who calmly walked by was amazing.
Ngorongoro; the rhino was hiding but we had a great time at the hippo pool, spotting rare birds .
The lions were doing a nice play, pretending they were going to kill a buffalo, but it was only a
try out for the youngsters.
All together we had a great time, saw some amazing wildlife, an enormous amount of birds, very small to very large. John was willing to stop as many times as we requested, drove around as long as we wanted....
early drives, with nice breakfasts after the drives .
Always helping to find out what bird we spotted, he new an awful lot of them, the rest we searched for in his book.
The camp sites and the (tented) lodges we stayed were on good locations.
We will never forget the elephant in the Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp, who came buy in the night, stopping in front of our tent, his trunk swinging on our veranda, with only the mosquito netting in between him and us was quiet an experience.
We had a great time, the safari was very well organised up to our wishes, and the information giving beforehand was very helpful.

Excellent safari tour operator with strong care for both wildlife and local people
5/5

We made a fantastic safari with African Wildcats Expeditions in July this year – it was indeed a memory for life!

We were travelling with our children (10 and 12 years) and parents so when we planned we looked carefully for a guide that could be fully trusted. Jacob Loserian was perfect for this mission, when we planned the trip and during the entire safari. Jacob has great experience and knowledge, and he is service-minded and a safe driver.

We first went to Seregenti for some days and stayed in a tented camp that we highly can recommend, The Thorn Tree tented Lodge. The camp has clean and spacious tents, excellent food and is place in the middle of nature.

During the safari, we spotted a lot of animals, not least lions – also hunting on repeated occasions! Clearly, the game driving was facilitated by Jacob’s experience, knowledge on nature and his great eyesight. We also had a wonderful day in the beautiful Ngogorongoro crater before heading back to Arusha.

After the safari we spent a day visiting a school, health center and a traditional Maasai village in a community in the Monduli mountains, approximately 1h easy drive from Arusha. We had the great pleasure to hand over school books, pens and footballs to the school children, and we learned much about the work and challenges in the school, as well as of the traditional way of living in a Maasai village. Again, Jacob was an excellent guide and since he also comes from the same area, he has knowledge as few other guides we have met over the years.

The visit in Monduli gave us and our children a good opportunity to meet people far from the ordinary tourist tracks and we established good contacts with the people. We will never forget this visit and hope to come back in a few years.

Overall the journey was beyond our expectations. Having travelled in Tanzania and elsewhere in East Africa several times over the years, we can absolutely recommend African Wildcats Expeditions to anyone looking for a high-quality safari tour operator, with a strong care for both wildlife and local people.

3 x Times we saw the Big Five!!!
5/5

For me it was the second time to visit lovely Tanzania. Without any doubt we booked our holiday at African Wildcats. Last time I visited it was the end of the dry season, now I visited just after the wet season, what a difference!
Lanscapes we now green, the grass was much higher but also other animals were to be seen.

The outcome was spectaculair: we saw 12 rhino's! Even one in the Serengeti!

I would like to thank Jacob, our guide, for his focus, humor but also persistence!! We just could not leave the parks without seeing every animal! :-)

Thanks again, and offcourse we will visit again!

Fabulous experience and memory for life
5/5

Fully prepared and full of expectations we, mother and son, arrived in Tanzania for our Kilimanjaro expedition and safari organized by African Wildcats. Both surpassed our expectations! The Kili expedition was of course tough but such a great experience. We were escorted by Saidi and his crew and they all did a fabulous job! So kind, caring, experienced, wise and sensible. Amazing food, thank you Paulo. We loved the singing of our crew, especially when they joined us, singing, in the last part of our way back to base camp at the end of summit day. African Wildcats decision not to start summit day at midnight is a really good one. It helps you climbing and enjoying this tough last climb and makes sure that you'll have the whole summit, under the sun in the snow, to yourself. No one else on the summit makes the feeling of invincibility even bigger.
After 6 days on the Kili, we had a few relaxing safari-days with our very experienced guide Ole. He guided us to the right spots. We saw many animals and often really close. The Sangaiwe tented lodge, where we stayed the first night, is exceptionally beautiful; almost a pity we only arrived there at the end of the afternoon.
Thank you African Wildcats, for this fabulous experience and memory for life.
We will highly recommend African Wildcats Expeditions to anyone planning on visiting Tanzania for the Kilimanjaro expedition and safari.

The safari of our life!
5/5

In July 2018 we experienced an unforgettable 8-day safari with the whole family. In the preparation for the end of the safari we are excellently accompanied by African Wildcats Expeditions. We visited Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park, among others. All different but oh so beautiful. In the meantime we visited Rhotia Valley and spent the night there. Definitely worthwhile if only because the Dutch owners Joris and Marise have been taking care of orphans for more than 10 years. Very passionate and special people.
In terms of wildlife we have seen everything. At least the Big 5 and John spotted another Cheetah, who are very shy. We have seen much more than we could have imagined beforehand. Young lions, a live kill, crocodiles, many hippos, hyenas, etc. Each and every one beautiful and sometimes very close and let's hope that many generations can enjoy it. The trip was very good from start to finish, the lodges and the food were excellent. John and Charles, our guides during the safari are special people. They have conquered a place in our hearts.
We would like to thank Jacob (preparation for the trip), Saidi and especially John and Charles, incredibly. You breathe safaris and have an eye for wildlife (nature) and locals. Once in your life you must have been in the beautiful Tanzania. We will come back.

We had a wonderfull safari through northern Tanzania, excellent in every aspect!
5/5

We have just returned from a truly wonderful trip to Tanzania that exceeded all of our expectations. And we have traveled quite a lot in the world with good organisations like SNP. We met African Wildcats at the Vakantiebeurs voor Bijzondere Reizen in de Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam and immediatly liked the idea that it is a company owned and run bij two Tanzanians who also support their Masai community with it. One of them, John, we met at the Beurs in Amsterdam and he made a very capable, friendly and enthousiastic impression. Preparing and organizing the trip in advance was allready a pleasure, corresponding well with Jacob who helped us make good decisions about how to organise our safari to meet our very personal wishes ( we for example traveled to a town called Sengerema because I lived there as a child). Arriving in Arusha we met John again who was our guide throughout the trip. He did a magnificent job. He was an excellent and very safe driver and allways cared very well for our safety in every circumstance. He had great enthousiasm and patience with all our interests in animals, birds and trees and had good knowlege of them all and he himself was also a real animal lover, you could detect that. He was a good leader of the group and with his good communication with us and all the people around us and his good sense of humour the atmosphere was very nice. The tented camps, lodges and hotels were all excellent and the food was allways of very good quality. The program of the trip was a very good mix of culture and nature and spotting animals and we learned a lot about the masai and their habitat in a unique and authentic way. Our trip was full of wonderfull highlights and we agreed it was the best vacation our family has ever experienced. We absolutely recommend African Wildcats to everyone who wants to visit Tanzania. Thank you John and Jacob!

An extremely beautiful camping-safari.
5/5

The first safari started in Arusha National Park. A wonderful green park, here we went on a leisurely safari-hike with a ranger. We stayed the night at the campsite of this park. We were welcomed by giraffes which were walking in front of our car on the campsite. The next area was Monduli Juu. We took a beautiful walk with a Maasai guide. We spent the night at the Monduli Juu bushcamp. The next day we went to a Maasai village which was very impressive.

Next, we left for Tarangiri National arkP. We stayed two nights at this campsite. By day we enjoyed the game drives. We saw a lot of wildlife (amongst others: wild dogs, cheetahs, lions and a leopard.)

The next park was Serengeti National Park. We stayed at the campsite for three nights. It was a lovely variable environment. During the game drives (also at sunrise) we saw many active animals. It’s wonderful to see how animals live in their own surroundings. The last night was spent on the Ngorongoro crater. Here it was quite a bit colder than at the Serengeti. The following day we did a game drive in the crater.

All of the game drives were splendid and well organized. We saw many wild, big and small animals. Also the various birds were very impressive. It was quite an experience to sleep in a little tent at a campsite, surrounded by the sounds of animals. Our Maasai guide, Olly, was a good guide who could tell a lot about the animals and the flora of the parks. Very informative. He always gave us plenty of time to observe things very well. Our cook, Danny, provided us with delicious meals which differed every day. It was a trip we will not forget and that is why we recommend African Wild Cat to everyone.

Unforgettable! Once in a lifetime experience! Best safari in Tanzania.
5/5

We had contact with John and Jacob and together we made a made-to-measure trip based upon their experience and our wishes. They were very flexible and always looking for best possibilities. Our guide was Benson and he was born in the Serengeti where he stayed until he was 18. Ben learned us a lot about animals and the nature in all parks. Also he was very gentle to travel with; we had great fun as well. Arusha Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti: amazing! We saw a lot of animals; even the migration of the wildebeasts! After 10 days Tanzania we relaxed for 6 days at Zanzibar; also very nice!
We do recommend to book with African Wildcats instead of booking with an european/american agency; because you support the Tanzanian people directly!
We had a once in a lifetime experience!
