Love the combo sea + safari
Couple holiday. We spent 10 days between Zanzibar and Safari.
We loved the kindness of the staff and the areas were very nice.
Having just one week I would have preferred going safari straight away and then having time to relax 4 full days in Zanzibar.
Did like: beach and its bars
Could be better: food variety at restaurant.

Great experience for a once only trip
So. Don’t expect a room on arrival if you’ve travelled all night ! So tired ! But the staff are lovely and rooms are all you need. Food is plentiful in the main buffet but try the other restaurants.
Safari was amazing. The guides were exceptional. But this is not a trip for young children. A French family with a child that wouldn’t listen to the guides almost spoilt our whole trip. But. Overall a great experience.

great safari in Tanzania & great relaxation in Zanzibar
Elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, buffaloes, hyenas and many other animals in the immediate vicinity and then the great bungalow in the Reef & Beach Resort on Zanzibar - simply wonderful!
Many thanks to the service staff and the safari guides!

A varied experience, loved the safari- but was hungry, beach was great and rested with better food.
Loved the safari experience- the animals and the tour was amazing. The guide and people too, were fantastic. The food for lunch and dinner whilst on safari was poor. Make use of the amazing ingredients to make beautiful meals as opposed to trying to make western meals poorly.
Beach was amazing. As we're all staff.

Welcoming, Friendly and Knowledgeable
We did a 4-day Safari and 7-day Beach stay. We arrived at resort in the early morning after a very long journey to be met by a loverly man on reception who was conscious of how we must be feeling so booked us in very efficiently and quickly. It was a bit of a surprise to find out that we were off again a 4am the next day but everything was very well managed. Considering we were there for such a short time the welcome we got when we returned was amazing, the same receptionist was there and he remembered not only our names but little details from our brief conversation - it felt like coming home.
Safari - we did 3 games drives, 1 boat safari and a bush trek. All were very well managed, informative and ran smoothly. Our first game drive started as soon as we got off the plane (our luggage was taken to the lodge) with Denis as our driver/guide. Our group was us (an English couple) and 5 Guests from Germany (one spoke good English so translated for the others) so Denis adapted his talks to allow all of us to understand and learn. We really bonded as a group and from then on Denis was our driver/guide of choice and took us on all of our game drives. We cannot praise Denis enough, he took onboard what we were hoping to see and did not let us down, we saw everything and more (including a Loin on 2 different days). We didn't see a Jaguar but that was not for the lack of Denis using his extensive knowledge to try and find one. There was only a couple of very little negatives at the lodge - the lack of seating in the bar area especially for just 2 people (should you want some time as a couple) and sun loungers/seating around the pool. However, there is work going on at the moment so this could change. Apart from that we very much enjoyed our 4 nights with them.
Reef and Beach Resort - We arrived back from Safari in the early morning but our rooms were not ready until 1pm so our tip is to pack your beach wear at the top of your return luggage so you can change (there are changing rooms in some toilet blocks but toilets are roomy enough for this). You can safely leave your luggage at reception and enjoy your time around the resort. There are so many places to relax or have a drink and the on-site facilities are good. We recommend using Crab Tours who are on site to book excursions as they are reasonably priced even if it's just 2 people. We booked the Stone Town Tour and had a car & driver plus our own tour guide for around £45 each. Our room was spacious with good air con and lovely Bathroom. Again, a couple of things could be better such as seating in the main dining area. The food was loverly with a good choice and all on the ground floor. However, there is limited seating on the ground floor but plenty upstairs where it is very nice. However, there is only a very limited food selection upstairs so you either have to go up and down (stairs are steep) or go with the limited options (there was also no A La Carte when we were there). We are also used to a having someone come around the pool/beach/seating areas asking if you want drinks which doesn't happen here but that's fine, just an observation. Again, there is work going on around the resort so things could change.
We have been to other parts of Africa before but this was our first time in Zanzibar and Tanzania. All the Paradise and Wilderness staff we had contact with were true ambassadors for their country. It was the people we met in Resort, on Safari and our trip to Stone Town (not to be missed by the way) that made this holiday special for us. Resort and Lodge were clean, tidy and well maintained (although as I said there is work going on in both but this is being done with minimum/no impact on guests). Nothing was too much trouble and everyone we met or passed said Jambo and smiled. Such wonderful people, we would (have) recommend to friends.

He was very friendly and had a lot of patience with us and did everything we asked him
Everything went well and we had a lot of fun on our Safari. Our Tour operator George was really friendly and he did an amazing job. He really cared about our interests and he answered all our questions and stopped everywhere we asked him or when we saw some animals. The organization at the Lodge for our stay was also very nice and we had everything we needed. We had such a good time and regreted it a little bit that we have booked just 2 days. The next time we will definitely book a bigger Safari for more days. I don't have anything negative to say but I personally was a little bit disappointed that our trip on the 2nd day ended already at 11am. When I booked the 2 day Safari, I thought that we will have 2 full days but unfortunately it wasn't like that. On the first day we arrived at 11am and on the 2nd day we left at 11am. If we look at the time we effectively spend on the safari, it was just 1 full day. I expected that we will have more time for the Safari, especially for the price we payed. That's the reason because my overall rating for the Safari is good and not excellent. But beside of that it was just amazing and we had a really good time.

Very well organized
We had the combination of Beach and Safari. 3 days beach at Reef and Beach in Zanzibar, flying by plane to Arusha, 4 days safari, flying back to Zanzibar and 3 days Reef and Beach. An ideal combination to relax and see the sun and sea in a tropical paradise, and action during the safari. A wonderful experience, well organized, always a warm welcome in the lodges, very helpful staff, and very reliable. Even with a flight delay the driver was still waiting for us.
Only suggestion: book the morning flight back to Zanzibar. Friends of us had the 10.00 flight with flight link and weer at the beach at 12.30. We had the 16.45 flight with a 2 hour delay and arrived 21.00 at the hotel. So we missed a complete day of the beach part of the trip.
Otherwise a wonderful experience and very well organized. Thank you for your good service

An amazing experience
We had an amazing experience. Everything was beautifully organized, from the airport transfer to our hotel stays before and after the Safari. The Safari was excellent and Samy, our guide, was able to share everything he knew about African wildlife and the Massai. It will remain an unforgettable memory. I highly recommend this supplier to everyone!
Many thanks again Samy

It was fine, not very luxurious, but an incredible experience
We stayed 3 nights in Zanzibar in the Zanzibar Bay hotel, then 5 nights safari in Tanzania, and eventually 6 nights in Zanzibar (Zanzibar Bay Hotel).
The Zanzibar Bay Hotel is just fine, the food is good and friendly personnel. It is not very luxurious. Construction and painting of the buildings was going on while we stayed there…
The safari was very good. Nice accommodations and a very good driver/guide called Libe. We were lucky and saw the big 5. Bring your water shoes when you visit Lake Natron. You will need them for the walk to the waterfall.
You also need water shoes if you go on the Safari Blue tour in Zanzibar.

Very well organized and friendly operator
We very much enjoyed our trip. The lodges were all very nice, clean, comfortable, very friendly staff and good food - though some sligth deficits were noticed in the maintenance of the residences. Loose tabs etc. what could be easily avoidable with all the staff being around there. But these are tiny cosmetic things. We had different drivers and guides. Unfortunately the one doing the safari was the weakest of all. I would have wished for somebody with better english skills as well as more background information about Tanzania in general to learn a little about the country as well But overall - it was a breathtaking, memorable experience. Thank you!
