Getting all those little details right!
Such a great trip! It was obvious that the team really care about what they do and are determined to get everything right for you. Lovely attention to all those little details that add up to make the whole thing a great experience....and we laughed so much!! A beautiful, beautiful place , coffee plantation, waterfalls and great company. We had actually gone with them the year before as well on the Ngorongoro safari tour which was such an excellent holiday. I would really recommend Godfrey and his team at African Traits.

Kiliminjaro Hakuna Matata
Godfrey organized one of the best experiences I've have had in arranging our climb up Kili. Myself and one friend climbed the Machame route with 7 days. The whole team was fantastic with some especially memorable guides Teacher John and Hallelujah. The service was great and the attitude was joyful. It didn't hurt that the weather was also perfect and we had a full moon with a lunar eclipse on summit day! All of the other logistics were rather seamless, including airport pick-up and lodging on either side of the climb, and I would definitely use this company again.

Godfrey Willy!
First, I have to admit that I have not actually done a safari with African Traits, BUT I have been on several trips and worked with Godfrey Willy. I have done day trips with Godfrey and one of his guides--excellent! I would not hesitate to book a trip with African Traits because I know that Godfrey will make sure that all is well. Godfrey spent 2 weeks guiding and supporting the Sunflower Kids nonprofit when we were making a fundraising film. He was outstanding at helping the director get really great shots, translating, and helping gain access into places where we would have never gone without him. The film would not have been as great as it is without him. So, all that is to say--I would trust Godfrey and book with African Traits!

Outstanding in every way!
What a perfectly brilliant holiday thanks to Godfrey and his team! They love their beautiful country and want to show it off to it's very best to everyone who visits. There is so much to do! We went to a little coffee plantation where we roasted our own coffee beans. The waterfalls were beautiful and another amazing day out .We watched the people set off from the base camp of Kilimanjaro (We didn't go up but are daughter did and she was extremely impressed with the organisation and great team spirit of Godfrey's team) The Serengeti and Ngongoro safari tour can only be "experienced" as words are insufficient to capture the beauty of the African landscape and animals! I got the most amazing photographs, as our tour guide was always very happy to stop and get us the best position for as long as it took. He also arranged for us to visit a Maasai village.
Our hotels were luxurious in every way. My husband and I felt like we had an incredible holiday at a very competitive price. . Godfrey’s personal attention to detail in arrangements, communication, timing, transportation and continually ensuring we had an excellent holiday exceeded all of our expectations and we would highly recommend Godfrey and his team at African Traits to everyone!

Another unforgettable experience!
This was my second safari with Godfrey. I loved it yet again! I have nothing bad to say about any of it. It was well organized, fun, and unforgettable. I enjoyed the safari guide, accommodations, food, company, and all the extra little details I was not expecting. This trip was well worth the money. I would encourage everyone to go with African Traits for all of their adventures. I have also gone on the Moshi tour with Godfrey and loved it as well. Thank you for everything!

The most effective experience in my life.
Well Before I came to Tanzania I thought It was good landscapes full of poor people and thieves, Once I came and specially in Arusha and Zanzibar in a sudden I found people more than friendly with respect that made me shame of my first thoughts and I had a good brain that respect and hosbitality, specially drivers and very respectful and generous, in the other hand I had a lot of fun enjoying the nature in ngorongoro craters and Zanzibar, hotspring was not that good but it's not bad I think you have to camp not just a visit to got the best of it, Thanks for you Tanzanian people for the generous and respect and teaching me to be like that.

A professional company with well trained staff to support you in an unforgettable trek (Mount Meru)
Godfrey, the tour operator, was friendly and professional, answering any questions about cost, gear and expectations in a timely manner. The company arranged for drop off and pick up. The trek was tougher than expected as I experienced minor altitude sickness. Our guide, Teacha John, identified it and took great care of me, making sure I safely made it to the summit. He also led our group safely past a cape buffalo while the ranger distracted it. The food was delicious, prepared by our enthusiastic waiter and cook, Hallelujah. Many laughs had along the way. I highly recommend African Traits for any treks, safaris or beach vacations.

Machame route to Kilimanjaro and Safari
A friend of ours recommended African Traits / Youth Adventures to us. We got in touch with Godfrey Willy and booked a 6-day Machame tour to Kilimanjaro as well as a 4-day safari to Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro. Prices, as well as the communication beforehand, were both very good.
Someone from the company picked us up from the airport and brought us to a hotel that they organized as well. We were able to rent surprisingly good gear from a shop the day before that climb started and had a briefing on what else to bring and how to pack. The climb itself was really well organized, our guides were great, and so were the porters and the cook. Tents, food, and all other services worked out perfectly, we had a truly amazing time. Just one thing: be sure to know how much you want to tip before the guides approach you on the last night, else you might pay more than expected.
After the climb, we were brought to our hotel where we left our stuff and had a day to relax before we started the safari the day after. Alike the Kili tour, the safari was also well organized. We were put together with 4 other travelers in a Land Rover Defender and started our 4-day trip. Again, organization by the tour operator was great, our gear and car were good and our staff (guide and cook) were nice. We also saw a great number of animals, basically everything apart from rhinos. Specifically, Tarangire park was a huge positive surprise.
After the trip, Godfrey organized a hotel for our last night and then brought us to the airport on departure day.
All in all, I highly recommend Godfrey and his team!

Amazing guides and professional service
After much research with many companies, my friends and I decided to go with Godfrey with African Traits and we could not have been more happy. We hiked the Lemosho route (7 days) of Mt Kilimanjaro and did a 5 day safari. We compared many companies for not just cost, but also the services included, guide's experience, route options, quality of group gear, quality of meals, success rate, handling medical emergencies, and how they treat their porters.
Our first impression of Godfrey via email was very positive. He answered questions promptly, thoroughly, and with all the information we were looking for. He personally picked us up from the airport, which was so reassuring when traveling to a foreign country. We immediately could tell he ran a quality company, with great vehicles, excellent English, and booking us our hotel room. He even drove us to town to find a sim card for our cell phone and told us to wait in the car so he could get a better rate then if they charged us the "American" rate. He constantly was looking to help us in all of our needs.
The next day, he met with us to further review the hike itinerary, answer questions, and get any personal gear that we did not have. We felt so comfortable and ready for the hike after getting this additional gear and confirming the type of food and drinks we would have on the hike.
The hike was amazing. Our guide and assistant guide went above and beyond to provide an experience that we will remember for a lifetime. For example, our assistant guide offered to take one of our camera's to take pictures of us. This was SOOO helpful, especially on summit day, when you are so tired that you don't want to do anything but get to the top. The also let us know what to expect each day, what to wear, and did a medical check each night. The group gear was top quality, the meals were fantastic (actually better than all the restaurants we visited), and the porters were amazing.
We also did the safari with African Traits and it was incredible. We decided to do tent camping, but the last night we stayed in a lodge. (The lodge was 5 star, and the tents were...tents.) In the tent camp sites, we had lions visit one night, baboons steal our powdered milk one afternoon, and zebras grazing one day. Very much in the middle of it all. We always felt safe and our guide told us how to keep safe as well. But if that is too much nature for you, go with the lodges.
We saw every animal you think of when you think African safari: lions eating a wildebeest, a cheetah stalk and kill a gazelle, elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, black rhino, leopard, jackels, hyenas, ostriches, baboons, fox, antelope, warthog, impala, widebeest, birds of all variety, crocodiles, pink flamingo, etc. And not only did we see these animals, but herds and flocks of them walking right next to our vehicle. The vehicle was a really nice Toyota Land Cruiser Safari. It had a pop-up roof with 8 seats (we only had 5 in our group plus the guide.) We never had vehicle problems, but other groups that we met had flat tires multiple times. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the animals and culture. The cook was great for all our meals.
Seriously, you should contact Godfrey with African Safari. You will have amazing experiences with his company!

Climb of my life!
I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro with African Traits, Godfrey provided comprehensive information about the climb and was very fast at responding to emails. It can sometimes be hard to trust a company half way across the world but he put me at ease with his professionalism. The guides on the climb spoke excellent English and made us feel very safe. I was climbing as an individual so Godfrey joined me with another small group of people which worked really well. The food was amazing even after four days of being on the mountain and I was encouraged and supported all the way to the summit. Godfrey greeted us on the day of our return back to Moshi and the hotel he had booked for us to stay in was perfect! No complaints whatsoever!
