Professional and reliable tour operator. Our guide Suleyman was excellent.
We went on a 10 day mid-range safari with Lion King in August 2024. We visited Ngorongoro crater rim, Ngorongoro crater (1 day) and Serengeti 8 days in central/northern. The email exchange to plan the tour was professional and reliable - the suggestions by the Lion King team were helpful and added value to the tour. Everything that was promised was delivered - and even some more.
Our guide Suleyman was very knowledgeable, professional and at all times striving to deliver the best possible customer experience. I could not think of anything which could have been done better.
In addition Lion King owns and operates the Nyota Lodge in central Serengeti which has a great team and seems to be extremely good value for a mid-range tour.

Lion King is a wonderful locally based and operated safari company!!!
My husband and I recently finished an 8 day safari, plus two days of local tours with Lion King. The safari experience was truly above and beyond what we could have ever imagined! Lion King is an extremely well run organization, and our experience was excellent every step of the way (from initial inquiries to booking to our actual experiences on the ground). Our guide, Enock, was an absolute joy to be with, and he made every effort to ensure we had a spectacular safari. He is incredibly well versed in the terrain, animal identification, animal behaviors, local topography, and hospitality!!! Fortunately for us, he also knows the vast Serengeti National Park extremely well, which allowed us to explore many areas and see a multitude of creatures. We never dreamed we would see such an abundance and variety of animals!!! From the initial pick-up, everyone we interacted with was gracious and helpful. Simon hosted us during our local tours in Arusha, and he was delightful and full of cultural insights. Our accommodations and food were also terrific! Be prepared for several days full of driving on bumpy and dusty roads, but know that it’s totally worth it. We highly recommend Lion King for a fabulous safari! We could not have imagined a better experience!!!

Wilson is a knowledgeable, entertaining, and dedicated chaperoned for your adventure in Africa!
Wilson is an upbeat guide who’s knowledge about Tanzania and his interest in showing us its wondrous beauty seemed inexhaustible. He easily fits with people who are new to him – – he is a friend from the minute you make his acquaintance. In addition, safety is his number one priority which I appreciated it as I had my children with me. Furthermore, it’s notable that some guides may try to provide the minimal experience, but Wilson goes out of his way to make sure you get the maximal experience – – his patience for waiting on the wildlife is a true asset to providing the best possible experience for his clients. He’s a true connector of people – – and it shows while you are out on safari – – his networking with the other guides to locate the best possible experience for you is apparent.

Laizer was excellent! He knew right where to go and how long to wait for action to take place.
We basically told them what we wanted and were interested in. They arranged everything from the airport pickup/drop off, the camps to our final hotel stay in Zanzibar. Everything was taken care of and there was nothing for us to worry about. Comparing the cost of our trip to my friend’s trip, was a big price difference. They paid a whole lot more! We would highly recommend Lion King Adventures to everyone!

Trip of a lifetime saw migration and over 40 different animals and 30 kind birds
Great trip well organized. Spectacular. Our guy Evan was able to spot lions and leopards 300 feet away. Saw the wilderbeest migration 3 times. Guide was very knowledgeable on trees, animals, climate, birds. Took his time and let us stop wherever we stopped.
The tented camps were different. Lot noise at night from animals. Long days 630AM to 630PM. We asked to get back one day at 4:00 just have time to relax
Only downsize Evan our driver was tough to carry a conversation on with as his English not that good. So it was tough to ask questions at times.

Wilson is knowledgable, fun loving, experienced and kept us safe the entire trip.
Wilson Baragiswa, aka Wili, works for The Lion King Adventures for 4 years. Since he was born and grew up in the Safari region, he has extensive knowledge about the national parks, wildlife and local people. He is gifted at networking with other tour operators, so he gets the inside scoop about where high demand wildlife is moment by moment. We were able to see a leopard as well as the largest gathering of Wildebeest at the migration since 2019. He also consistently was able to get us front row seats, knowing exactly where to park the vehicle so the animals would walk towards us. I only used an iPhone for photos and have received numerous comments about how close we were to the animals. He also was able to answer all of my questions. Additionally, I always felt safe with him. He would only stop at safe and trusted places, share with us where the bathrooms were, and the time allotted at bathroom breaks. He kept the jeep clean, despite all of us trekking in dirt and rocks every day. We always had cold fresh water in the jeep, as well as other beverages. Wili was always on time, cleanly dressed, pleasant and kind. Over the days, he easily became part of our safari family.
We went on the 9 day Wildebeest Migration, and I felt that it was the perfect amount of time to tour the national parks. It was worth every penny. We stayed at the mid-level lodging. The rooms were always clean, and the beds were comfortable. The food was delicious as well. Wili knew where to find most of the camps, and the one camp which had recently moved, he found it before we went out on the migration for safety reasons.
I have several friends who are interested in going on a safari and am recommending The Lion King Adventures for the tour company and making sure they ask for Wili to be their guide.

Perfect Safari
All the agreed programme was adhered to perfectly.
Our guide, Jackson, was precise, professional, polite, courteous, knowledgeable and friendly.
The hotels were above expectations, with a special mention for the fabulous ‘Nyota Luxury Camp’.
The car we used, although not brand new, was comfortable enough and never had any problems on long drives on the dirt road.
We ate very well, both at dinner and at picnics.
We were given soft drinks, beer and also two bottles of wine with personalised labels.
Everything went perfectly, we won't forget the excitement of this safari.

Wonderful experience
Doing a 5-day safari in the national parks of Northern Tanzania with Lion King was a wonderful experience. Everything was well organized, including pickup from and drop-off at the airport at the end of the safari.
Our guide Ali was amazing, giving us a lot of information about Tanzania, its culture and its wildlife. Only thanks to his dedication were we able to see animals we had already given up hope to see. Having a guide as knowledgeable and passionate for his job as Ali is a true blessing.
We would absolutely recommend Lion King to anyone looking to do a safari.
Unforgettable experience
It’s been always my dream to see river crossing animal and wildlife in a short distance, and I am so grateful that Lion King Adventures and our super guide Cornel make it come true!! Special thanks to Cornel, who helps us not only to spot different kind of animal, predict animal movement, find the best picture taking place, but also provide us detailed explanation of animal behavior and features. Also his good driving skill and cheerful personality gives great advantage to this journey. Additional thanks to our Hadza and Datoga tribes tour guide Rama, who also helps us a lot to interact with locals and give detailed information of their life and culture.
