Tanzania Beckons
When it's minus four degrees in Amsterdam, Tanzania beckons.
We hopped on the plane to JRO (Kilimanjaro International Airport), and got picked up by our guide Oswald, the Great, the Knowledgable. For the following 8 days he displayed expansive knowledge of Tanzania's history, it's game-life, about the reserves, the Masai and so on. A great and funny conversationalist and with binoculars for eyes, helping us to spot even the rarest of animals-- due to these super-eyes we've managed to see five black rhino's in the Ngorongro Crater and several cheeta's (some even during a prowl or hunt). Oswald also proposed alternative lunch spots, during our safari days. We managed to eat in the 4x4 jeep while being surrounded by a large family of elephants in the Serengeti -- a sight we will never forget--. Thanks to him we've seen all the animals we expected and much more, he explained us about the symbiotic relation between vultures and simba's (Swahili for lion) and showed us animals that were wounded, rejected by their mates and much more. Overal a tremendous, invigorating and inspiring journey, that was taken care of from the moment we landed to the minute we left mainland Tanzania for Zanzibar.
The accommodations that were arranged by Lion King Adventures were nothing but splendid. Staff was welcoming, respectful and aware of COVID protocol. Highlights were our stay at Maraboi Tented Lodge, with a wonderful floor manager and an amazing bed-side view of lake Manyara. Zebra's, wildebeests, giraffe's, warthogs and several monkeys walk the ground, thus doubling as an luxury stay and safari in one.
Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge, at the end of our trip, had the best room by far! And Ole Serai Luxury Camp in south Serengeti, had some Masai as employee's escorting you from you room to the restaurant and back. A truly unique experience, having a Masai guard whilst dining under the Serengeti night sky.
Another recommendation would be staying a day or two, after landing in Kilamanjaro, at River Trees Country Inn, relatively cheap, beautiful landscaped gardens, a river, the cutest colobus monkeys, that do their rounds between 17:00 till 19:30 and a great place to get climatized and ready for the safari journey.
Safari means being in the car a lot. We had a great 4x4 jeep, where lunch and beverages were taken care off. The car broke down two times, which isn't unheard of seeing the sometimes rocky terrain one needs to traverse (it's a safari after all) but Oswald was knowledgable, not only of the environment and the country, but also of car-mechanics. We've always felts save and in good hands.
Lastly, I would like to compliment the staff (Pendo!) of the Lion King Adventures. After forgetting my iPad at one of the lodges, they managed to retrieve the iPad and handed it over personally when we returned to Arusha at the end of our trip. In comparison to other (European) companies, we felt Lion King Adventures gave us BY FAR the best BANG for our BUCK. Plus we would definitely recommend everyone to consider investing in the more local companies of Tanzania such as Lion King, as a large part of the Tanzanian economy is reliant on the safari tourism.
In the end we spent around 2800 dollar (with all COVID discounts) per person for 8 days of full service (dinner excluded), where we had beautiful rooms every night, the best service, and have been able to visit three national parks and a conservation area (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongro Conservation Area & Crater and Lake Manyara). The only thing we would do differently is attempt to stay a day or two longer in certain parks, making the entire trip more relaxed (packing and unpacking every day can be tough) -- our personal preference would be staying extra days in the Ngorongro Conservation Area, as it has the most diversity of all the places we've been --in it's overall landscape, flora and fauna--.
In short, just book it. You won't regret it.

Great adventure
First of all very reactive staff during booking as we book everything a week before our departure. Pando was always reactive and it help us choosing the right safari, visa information even for transfer to avoid big commission. Saleh our guide was at the airport as schedule and the trip was just amazing all along.

Nejkrásnější zážitek v Africe
My dream was to visit the African safari, and this February I fulfilled it. For a long time, my friend and I were looking for the right company that would meet all our requirements, and Lion King Adventures won to the fullest. It met our time and financial requirements.
Our guide Immanuel was great! He picked us up at the airport and we became friends very quickly. The very first day we went to the Tarangire National Park, where he showed us all the beauty and showed us all possible and impossible animals and plants. Immanuel told us a lot of information about each species, for which I thank him very much! . Early in the morning we went to the Ngorongoro Crater and also to the Maasai village. The Maasai village is unreal. That life there is very interesting and I highly recommend a visit. The next stop was Ngorongoro, which we fell in love with immediately, and I have goosebumps whenever I remember a visit. The beauty, the peace, the wilderness all around. We were lucky and we really saw all the animal species that live here. Even rhinos you don't always see (and we were lucky to see a rhino baby). It really is an INCREDIBLE and UNFORGETTABLE experience that I will be grateful to Lion King Adventures and Immanuel for the rest of my life.
Of course, everything was all inclusive and the food in the national park at the table next to the car with the wine, where our name was printed ... it was also magical. :)
If you plan to visit Tanzanian safari, then only with Lion King Adventures. :)

Truly amazing experience
The whole experience, from the beginning to an end was amazing!
The Lion King adventures offers a truly great service. All of their communications are so timely, detailed and just very professional. It was great from the when we just started thinking about the safari up till the end of our trip. They’ve send us many detailed emails with a lot of useful details about our trip, which was very helpful. They’ve custom made the tour for us with our timing and the things we wanted to see. Our driver Gilbert was just so great, so professional and respectful and fun. All in all, I am recommending them already to whoever of my friend is planning a trip

It's like the most beautiful wildlife movies.
There were our wonderful journey to a fairy tale, our first time in Africa and on safari.
We spent time in the company of a guide-driver Immanuel. We had been in three different parks during three days. They's names are Manyara, Ngoro-Ngoro, Tarangire. This is a good choice. We had a suitable and convenient route with short distances from the place of residence.
These parks have their own characteristics -different landscapes, flora and fauna.
The driver-guide Immanuel took with him an atlas with a description of the animals, birds and trees of these places, binoculars for us and a delicious lunch and drinks.
We saw near and far many different animals and birds - African elephant, zebra, giraffe, buffalo, impala, whaterbuck, lione, rhinos, olive baboons, blue and green monkey, ostriches, superb starling, yellow-billed oxpecker, flamingos, black kite. Trees - Umbrella thorn, Candelabra tree, aloe.
It was unforgetable. We enjoyed most of all Ngorongoro conservation area. It's like the most beautiful wildlife movies.

Lion King Adventures was accommodating, kind, and communication was wonderful!
Our tour guide, Salehe, was wonderful! We had so much fun on our tour with him. He was very kind to both my husband and I throughout the whole process and had very great energy. In addition, he was extremely knowledgeable and didn't get annoyed with us asking all kinds of questions (some of which were very crazy)! We saw a ton of animals on our trip - he was able to spot a ton of animals. He also let us sit and watch them as long as we wanted to!
Emmanuel picked us up from the airport and his smile lit up the whole room! He was a joy to talk to and he gave us such a warm welcome.
Pendo was very communicative and patient with my husband and I. We really enjoyed working with her to make our Safari experience unforgettable.
There are no words that do justice to how enjoyable our trip was. We appreciate everyone at Lion King Adventures and would pick Lion King Adventures again in a heartbeat.

Perfect and amazing with nothing but great things to say!!!
Lion King adventures was an amazing experience! Salehe was the most amazing guide and so skilled at spotting the animals! We had a great time with him and it was seriously one of the most amazing experiences of our lives. Salehe was so knowledgeable about the animals and didn't mind us constantly asking questions. He was also super kind with a great energy, and we really enjoyed having him as our guide. The resorts that they booked us at were fantastic and so beautiful. Each one had something special and amazing to offer in terms of views and ambiance. We definitely loved our stay in Melia inside the Serengeti, and we won't be forgetting that experience. We also did a hot air balloon ride, and that was so amazing. Definitely don't miss out on doing a hot air balloon ride, you won't regret it. We saw so many animals like lions, cheetahs, jaguars, elephants, and more. We got to see the large migration of wildebeest and zebra and that was truly mind-blowing. Wildebeest as far as the eye can see! The parks are just so stunning. Once you see a giraffe galloping across the Serengeti as a storm is coming in, you'll realize the beauty of this place is unparalleled. Lion King adventures made our trip so special and fun and we highly recommend anyone looking to do a safari in Tanzania sign up with them.

Guides were knowledgeable, accommodating, attentive, and kind. We chose the camping safari and had a great time but would likely choose lodges if we did it again. Private safaris, highly personalized and tailored to fit your needs.

Luxury experience at local price point :)
Great communications and planning upfront, with the very helpful steer to spend more time in Ndutu over Serengeti given the time of year (we saw leopards and cheetah’s as a result!!)
Our guide Salehe was very knowledge about flora and fauna as well as having an eagle eye for animal spotting, and we had six great days with him
The accommodation was also spot on - as foreigners on our honeymoon, we can vouch for the standards and professionalism and recommend this company :)
