Wonderful experience. Drivers were knowledgeable. They were also great animal spotters. Very accommodating to anyone who were taking photos Many game drives. Saw more animals than I ever could have imagined.
Lodges were wonderful. Great accommodations. Ted did a great job planning extra activities including breakfast in the bush and sunrise game drive. All in all a once in a lifetime experience

Classic Journeys has a personal touch like no other safari company...the fabulous game drives with the industry's most knowledgeable guides are peppered with fun and exciting extras...'sundowner' cocktails on the savannah, upclose visits to animal sanctuaries, breakfast with hippos and dinner with elephants!
A safe and elegant adventure that will change you forever. The value is unsurpassed for the activities and food/lodging included...luxury in the wild for sure. We'll be back.

Classic Journeys Africa was always customer oriented and strove to make us all happy.
5/5

Classic Journeys provided excellent customer service from our arrival in Nairobi until our departure. They saw to all our needs and provided excellent accommodations and transportation throughout. Our guides, particularly Daniel, were knowledgeable and personable.

I only wish we had a little bit more downtime as we were on the move continuously. In addition, this tour was "organized" by a third party and communications with the group were sometimes a bit disjointed.

Amazing trip!
5/5

We did a private one-week safaritour in Tanzania with personal driver/guide. We started in Arusha and visited Tengeru cultural tourism programme. Afterwards we headed for Serengeti national park, Ngorongoro national park and Tarangire national park. Before we left Arusha we had a meeting with Rose from Classic Journeys who had put together our trip. Everything was organised perfectly. In the national parks we stayed in different lodges which all were excellent. The staff was always very friendly, the lodges and rooms were beautiful and very luxure, we had full meal and for daytime we got lunch boxes. Drinks for the whole week were available in a cooling box in the jeep. Our personal driver/guide was very friendly, he had a lot of knowledge and experience with this tour and we had a lot of fun, too :) We made loads of beautiful memories. We are very happy with all of the organisation and thankful to all the people who made this happen. Totally recommend!

Superb

Having traveled to South Africa three times, and viewing it as one of my favorite places in the world, I was leery that Kenya would be a let down. This was far from the truth. Kenya is one of the most spectacular places I’ve visited! If you’re not into viewing wildlife, though, it’s likely not the trip for you.

Every day brought new wonders. Every day! I would never have been able to get to the various locations alone, nor set up such a wonderful trip it’s so many varied activities. Accommodations and food were great. Looking back on the trip, it feels like a dream.

We were able to see a great variety of both wildlife and birds, including thousands of wildebeest crossing rivers. There were African Buffalo, zebra, lions, hippos, giraffes, cheetahs, wart hogs, hyrax, gazelles, baboons, impalas, rhinos, and more! We got to interact with Maasai people and learn about their culture. We visited a number of animal rescues and orphanages. A highlight for me was hand feeding both a giraffe and a hippo.

The trip was more expensive than most of my other journeys, but it was money well spent. Kenya is a very poor country, and tourism helps drive the economy. We had the opportunity to shop at venues whose sales supported people in need.

The Kenyan people were friendly and went out of their way to accommodate people’s needs, even when they were conflicting. I never felt unsafe. If I can figure out how to afford it, I will definitely return. This was truly the trip of a lifetime.

Ted did a Fabulous job
5/5

The overall tour exceeded our expectations. We had a fabulous time, the lodgings were great, the food was great, our travel companions were warm and wonderful. If I had to point to a negative, it would be the flights there and back. They were smooth and uneventful, but long. KenyaAirways did a fine job, provided lots of entertainment choices, and served 3 meals and beverages. Good flight experiences, just long.

Amazing!!!
5/5

The trip was amazing! Our group was led by Ted Schiffman (a professional photographer from Vermont) who has been on some 48 plus safaris. He keeps us informed from the very beginning of signing up. Both him and his wife were on the safari. Having been on so many safaris he was very familiar with all the staff in all the locations. We stayed in hotels for the whole trip with three meals a day. The accommodations were very clean. The meals were buffet with plenty of variation so that made it nice. We were met at the airport by Ted and the drivers for the first two safari locations. The drivers were well trained and had to spend 2 years in training. Every safari location was unique and had plenty of wild animals.
It was a trip of a Life Time. I highly recommend you go in a safari offered by Classic Journets in English.

Excellent, professional service & ethical company
5/5

Excellent service from Classic Journeys! Despite being end of the high season, we still saw plenty. Ruth listened to our needs and make great recommendations to fit in with our wishes and time constraints. Only wish we had a day longer to see more but we had a great time in the Masaai Mara. Everything on our itinerary was as promised. It can be 'risky' paying everything in advance but CJ is a trustworthy organisation. Ruth was in contact via whatsapp and quickly responded to any questions while planning our itinerary. We were met at the airport on arrival and transferred to Wilson airport for our connecting flight. The guide, Lawrence was waiting for our plane and within minutes of leaving the airport we had already spotted some of the Big 5. Lawrence was a courteous and excellent guide and a skilled driver. He was professional at all times and we felt comfortable especially on the drive back to Nairobi when the roads were busy.
Sadly we saw some very bad behaviour from other drivers in The Masaai Mara which was having a negative impact on the animals especially a leopard and a cheetah family trying to hunt. We witnessed vehicles going off road between lionesses and their cubs putting the cubs at risk of being hit by a vehicle. We saw a car damaging bushes in a thicket so the gawking tourist could get a closeup photo of a lion resting. The impact on the wildlife by irresponsible drivers and their guests is very concerning. We were very relieved to see that Lawrence was equally as appalled at the undisciplined behaviour! We felt comfortable that we had chosen a responsible and ethical tour operator who respected the wildlife and their environment.
