Wonderful safari, guided by excellent people
5/5

I was worried about my trip due to the stories my husband had told me about his self-drive safaris! I wanted a safe, guided safari with lots of close encounters with animals. My fears quickly disappeared when first, our group of 2 families, were met at Nairobi airport by one of our guides for Kenya, John and then met our other guide, Anthony, the next morning. They could not have been more kind and helpful. They explained everything that would happen and were always prompt and both interested and interesting. They looked after us brilliantly and we saw many amazing sites. They handed us over to our Tanzanian guides, Abasi and Maji, at the border and once again we were greeted with kindness and courtesy. They were also very knowledgeable and experienced, finding us breathtaking close encounters with nearly every animal we were hoping to see. Only the elusive Black Rhino escaped them and us. All our guides were so knowledgeable about both animals, including the many birds, and also the local communities that we passed through. They were most interested in us and in ensuring that we had the best time possible. We were left with brilliant memories and I have no hesitation in recommended this caring, resourceful and knowledgeable team.

Kenya Safari - Amboselli, Nakuru, Masai Mara
5/5

Organisation from Classic Journeys was excellent, from picking us up at the airport when we arrive to our driver Dixon making an extra effort to make sure we made our flight to Zanzibar. Dixon was knowledgeable and looked after us very well. There were a few long drives but overall standard of accommodation was great and we saw an abundance of wildlife. I would recommend booking the hot air baloon safari, it really is a once in a lifetime experience.
Wouldn't hesitate to book with them again. Recommended.

Amazing Tanzania!
5/5

We traveled with Classic Journeys on our honeymoon through Hisbiscus travel in Norway. We had an amazing trip with game drives in Lake Manyara, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro crater.
Our guide Madgi (sorry if that's not spelled correct) took such good care of us, and made this an experience we will cherish forever. He has so much knowledge and passion for the animals, and told us everything we wanted to know along the way. It was a pleasure getting to know him, and we hope to see him again sometime. We can't thank him enough.
In addition to spending the night in nice lodges, we spent two nights in a tented camp in Serengeti. This is one of the things that really surprised us, and we loved it! "A must do" when going on safari!

Experience for life
5/5

We are very pleased with our experience with Clasic Journey. Our driver / guide was very skilled. He had great knowledge of the wildlife as well as being a very skilled driver. We had wonderful experiences in all nature reserves, but Maasai Mara was the biggest experience. We were welcomed by gentle and friendly people everywhere and both the food and the standard of the tent / room were excellent.

Charles was very prompt in communications, very clear with all of the arrangements. We had changes that were easily accommodated and our guides were excellent. We were set up at very nice locations inside the parks and the transfers and safaris were very easy. Excellent trip overall!

Fantastically well organised trip with great communication through the whole experience
5/5

We organised a trip through Classic Journeys through Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya. The trip was organised exceptionally throughout with clear communication with Charles through the whole arrangement, booking and payment processes.

On the trip the whole experience could not have been organised better with Company representatives meeting us at the airports and knowledgeable guides imparting a huge amount of information on everything from country history, culture and nature. All the company representatives seemed to genuinely care that we had the best experience possible and honestly could not have done any more for us. A special thanks must go to Cathy and Kip in Rwanda and Matthew and Charles in Kenya.

All vehicles and accommodation provided were of the highest quality, modern and comfortable.

Could not recommend Classic Journeys highly enough and we are even planning our next trip to East Africa with them in the near future.

Trustworthy and well planned.
4/5

We were picked up at the airport by a representative from the company before transferred to our guide.
The drive to Masai Mara took approx. 6 hours. We had a flat tire, and with a short game drive we didn't reach the camp before after 7,5 hours.
This drive could have been skipped as we had already traveled for 20+ hours.
It was dark when we reached the camp so we didn't see much. Received a welcome drink and escorted to our tent for some freshing up before dinner.
All the food was fantastic and the service was second to none. We felt very welcome and taken care of.
Our guide picked us up at 8 am, way later than the other guests, but seeing it was our honeymoon we didn't want to rush.
We saw A LOT of animals! Our guide obviously knew where to drive. It was really impressive to see how they remembered all the roads crossing each other. We had a whole car for our selves, which was great. Except for one time where we forgot the clock and lost track of the direction in the dark, this trip was everything we had imagined and more! The transfer back to Nairobi was well organized and everything went smoothly.
We would recommend using Classic Journeys when booking a safari in Africa.

A fantastic safari with a kind and knowledgable guide. January 2018
5/5

Leading up to the tour Charles at classic journeys was very accommodating and patient with us as we decided what trip to do. Always quick to respond and to offer suggestions.
Our tour guide Chamillus was fantastic, super knowledgable and could spot a pride of sleeping lions a mile off! We were in Tanzania and went to Ngorogoro national park and the southern Serengeti - we saw 4 of the big 5 and had we stayed an extra day I'm sure that sneaky leopard would have made an appearance! Our stay at Kati Kati camp was magical, the food was delicious. We wish we could have stayed an extra day! We did a 2 day safari but I would say a 3 day would be best to ensure 5 out of the big 5!

It was raining heavily on day one when we went but that just added to the excitement - Chamillus was an off-roaring pro and it was quite the ride through Ndutu!!

Thank you for a fabulous time Classic Journeys Africa!
