Amazing safari and tour experience
5/5

Choosing Soul of Tanzania was a great decision and that was evident through each part of the journey. The communications were prompt right from day 1 and remained the same right until the end of our journey. The service, hotels, food, and our guide were all exceptional! A large part the credit for our good experience goes to our guide, Amani. He was extremely knowledgeable, kind and helpful; he made sure that we got everything we wanted and really exceeded our expectations! Would certainly recommend this company for a visit to Tanzania.

5***** Safari!!
5/5

We've just arrived from the most amazing holidays ever: our first safari!!!
We prepared our game drives and accommodation with Soul of Tanzania that went far and beyond to meet our expectations. In our own jeep (with just me and my husband) and with a great guide - thank you Rahim! - we were able to see the big five and so many more!
Tarangire was overwhelming, Ngorongoro left us in awe and the Serengeti... well... there are no words to express how excited we were! Food was good (Soul of Tanzania prepared hot meals for us. All other tourists had packed sandwiches!) and the lodges we chose were fine. I must highlight the Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge, inside the Serengeti park. Having a glass of champagne on the middle of the park, while the hyenas were walking around and a mongoose just passed under our room was an unforgettable experience!!
In the end, I and my husband left Tanzania with just one thought in our minds: to return ASAP!

Soulful and Exhilarating
5/5

My wife and I did the Soul of Tanzania safari, the 8day, seven night package and our only regret was that we couldn't do it all over again when it was over. We had an unforgettable time. There was never a dull or frustrating moment.

Starting from Arusha, Soul of Tanzania (SoT) put us up in a very comfortable hotel, The Africa Tulip. From there our guide, Pius, otherwise know as the Lion Whisperer, drove us from park to glorious park. Pius (pronounce Puce) was an incredible guide and a very safe and skilled driver. With a week in the car together and over each meal we had a lot of time to get to know each other. Pius was kind, funny and honest and my wife and I will always remember him. If we ever make it back we will surely ask for him to be our guide again.

Since every safari vehicle is bound to the dirt roads/tracks of the parks it is essential that the guide has his own intuitive sense of where to take you in order to avoid crowds and spot rare animals. Pius did all of that. We saw a cerval cat – very rare. And we must have seen close to 70 lions. We even got to see lions feeding on a freshly killed buffalo, which we heard being killed the night before from our tent! That may sound scary to some, but we never felt like we were in danger throughout our safari.

Soul of Tanzania provided an incredible adventure with some luxury to boot. My wife and I feel very lucky to have found them when we were researching safari outfits, Pius' stellar skills as a guide and the company's fantastic customer service helped to create one of the most unforgettable travel experiences of our lives.

Just amazing!
5/5

Last week I came back from one of the best trips I have lived so far and which I will always remember. Two friends and I travelled to Kenya and Tanzania for 15 days and we had the chance to live the essence of Africa, its beautiful and different landscapes, its animals and its people. We did a long safari of 10 days (Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire), spent one day in Arusha, did a short trekking in Materuni and flow to Zanzibar, where we stayed the rest of our trip.

My friends and I agree with the fact that doing a safari of 10 days can be too much. I love animals and I enjoyed a lot watching them. However, it is true that once you have seen so many giraffes, impalas, zebras and wildebeest, it is no longer exciting to see more of these animals. That’s why we consider that maybe with 4-5 days in a safari would be enough. The best parks to me are Maasai Mara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

Having explained a little bit our experience of this trip I would also like to give me opinion regarding the agencies with whom we travelled: Spirit of Kenya and Soul of Tanzania.

On January we bought the flights from Barcelona to Nairobi and once we got them I started getting in touch with lots of agencies, Spanish and foreigner ones. I rejected most of them due to its expensive prices. We were aware that travelling to Africa was expensive but we wanted to find a more “affordable” agency but without having to renounce to the things we wanted. At the end I finished discussing our trip with only a few agencies and among them there was Spirit of Kenya and Soul of Tanzania, the agencies with whom we shared our amazing experience in Africa. From that moment, the only aspect that we took into consideration in order to choose one agency or the other one was the treatment received from the beginning.

Vanessa was the person with whom I discussed everything from the first instance and her help, kindness, predisposal and willingness to offer us the perfect trip were crucial factors to make our decision. She always answered my e-mails and questions very quickly (many of them in less than 24 hours) no matter the time it was. Her e-mails were clear and very detailed. She was very patient with all my requests and my constant changes of opinion. She offered us different combinations of routes and activities attending our preferences and she gave us too different accommodation options taking into account its level (high, medium, normal).

The treatment received from her as well as from the agency never changed and remained the same during the whole trip. Before our trip I read many opinions of different people and some of them explained that their agency adopted a carefree attitude once they made the first payment of the price. This was not our case and the agency was always willing to help and to make our trip possible. In addition, we were in touch quite often since they had to confirm us the booking of the different accommodations chosen.

Even when difficulties ahead they acted honestly and quickly. There was a misunderstanding with the total price of our trip since in the final version of the contract it was stipulated one amount and after having paid the 50% of the same they notified us that the sum of the total amounts was wrong and that the final price was higher ($ 1,500 more). From that moment I discussed all this issue with the general director. She apologized for the misunderstanding and offered us different solutions to avoid the extra cost. Besides, she offered us to the possibility to cancel the reservation and to refund our money as well as to maintain all the reservations made in the event we decided to continue with a different agency. Finally, taking into consideration all the options we had, we decided to continue with them and we only had to modify a little bit our itinerary in order to reduce the final price. Moreover, they also offered us an upgrade on the Tanzania side to their premium line: better jeep (we could charge our phones and cameras), better food (including wine), unlimited water bottles during safari of 1 liter and a fabulous guide. Also, I have to mention that, while in Arusha, where we were spending two nights in the same accommodation, we asked them to change the second night since we were not comfortable in the place we booked (it was dirty, the insect screen was broken, etc.). The agency answer very quickly and they changed our accommodation for the next night free of additional charges.

Having set the aforementioned, I would sincerely recommend both agencies (Spirit of Kenya and Soul of Tanzania) and if I had to repeat our trip I would clearly do it with them again.

Outstanding experience!
5/5

Hello! I am now in Mozambique after finishing an amazing safari in Tanzania! I got married 2 weeks ago and my wife and I decided we wanted to do a safari in tanzania, a friend of mine recomended 'soul of tanzania', we decided to go with it and we could not be happier! They booked us a 6 days safari: ngorongoro crater, central serengeti and northen serengeti. We saw how beautiful the landscape and the wildlife of the crater is, the lions attacking a poor lonely gnu in the serengeti and the great migration crossing the mara river!! The service, the experience, the landscapes, our guide Nico, everything was absolutely perfect! Oh! Did i mention they serve hot lunches and cold white wine instead of the usual lunch boxes? Highly recommended.

Perfect Safari with Soul of Tanzania
5/5

We just came back from our safari through the parks in the North of Tanzania: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Lake Eyase, Ngoro Ngoro Crater, Central and Northern Serengeti.
I was travelling with my family, and it was the first safari experience for my 2 kids, aged 13 and 14.
It has been a stunning experience.
After some research we decided to go for the proposal of Soul of Tanzania, and we can only recommend this safari company.
Our guide, Dominique, was top-class: very knowledgeable, attentive to our needs, very experienced and an expert and careful driver, always willing to look for the best spot to view the cats or a river crossing.
The itinerary was very well designed, not too tiring and with a variety of landscapes.
The proposal to fly back from northern Serengeti instead of driving has proved to be a very good choice.
The accommodation resulted in a perfect mix of permanent camps, lodges and mobile camps, which was exactly what we were looking for. We particularly loved Chaka Mobile Camp in Northern Serengeti: unforgettable!
The hot lunches served every day during the game drives were much appreciated: we always were offered a wide choice of excellent food, and we were using steel dishes and cutlery, which were not only nice, but also are not producing tons of waste like the lunch boxes many other safari companies are providing.
At first I was a bit sceptical about the proposal to meet the tribes at Lake Eyase, we were in Tanzania for the wildlife and I was scared we would end up seeing something really just set up for tourists. After having met the Hadzabe, I must admit that it was just like entering in a time machine.
The wildlife we encountered in the parks just left us speechless: not only the big cats, but also the hundreds of flamingos and pelicans in Lake Manyara, the hyppos fighting for the territory, the thousands of wildebeests crossing the Mara River and the crocodiles hunting for them.
We enjoyed every second of our trip to Tanzania.

Once in a life time experience!!!!
5/5

Where do I start?!?! Soul of Tanzania team was extremely patient and resourceful in helping us plan our route, they booked all our stays, provided all transportation, booked our balloon safari, and even our domestic flights to/from Zanzibar! The only thing we had to do was book our international flight, that was it! Once we stepped foot in Kilimanjaro everything was handled and we never had to worry about a thing. We initially began planning our safari with Soul ~ 1yr before arrival and interacted with about every staff member and experienced the same high standard of customer service across the board.

Our guide Ben was simply outstanding to say the least! He was very knowledgeable and extremely passionate about the wildlife. It was 5 of us friends traveling together and because Ben had such a great sense of humor and personality, that as days progressed he became a friend and not just our tour guide, it felt like 6 friends on vacation now not 5. Our only regret is not spending more time on safari. Oh, and if you’re a coffee lover Ben makes the BEST coffee in Tanzania! Thank you, Ben and the team, at Soul of Tanzania for all the wonderful memories!!!

We loved our safari with Soul of Tanzania - i would rate it 5 out of 5!
5/5

I traveled on a private safari with Soul of Tanzania - with my 2 daughters, aged 12 and 14. We had such a wonderful trip - the trip of a lifetime! Our guide Herman was knowledgeable and patient, and knew how to find animals, how to wait for animals and what to expect of their behavior. His command of English was fantastic, he was a great driver and he was good with the kids. The safari itself was wonderful - we saw so many animals, including lion, cheetah, leopard, black rhino, elephant, hippos and much much more - we couldn't have been happier with what we were lucky enough to see. Of the 4 parks we went to (Serengeti, Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara) the girls' favorite was Lake Manyara - I think because there was a magical forest element as well as the lake. Elephants materializing out of the forest in front of us will be something we will never forget. In Serengeti NP we saw a lion pride coordinate a hunt right in front of us - then bring 13 cubs back to eat their kill. In Taragire NP we saw a herd of more than 100 elephants in the dry riverbed digging in the sand to access water and then spray it around. We saw a huge pride of 16 lions and cubs in Ngorongoro Crater cross just meters from us, and a big male lion digging like a huge dog trying to flush a warthog out of it's den. We got some great photos even with just our phone cameras - and our guide Herman cleverly took some with our phone and ipod through the binoculars - which were amazing! The food and accommodation exceeded our expectations - with Burunge tented lodge, looking out over Lake Burunge conservation area from the beautiful restaurant deck and pool area was our favorite.

Excellent experience from the planning stage to the farewell at the airport!
5/5

The safari lived up to the expectations and beyond that! Communication in the planning essential for us to take part and make our preferred choice on accommodation - always prompt and positive responses. Responsible, knowledgeable and experienced drivers took us, including our kids, safely to the destinations - and to see plenty of animals. The hot lunches was beyond our expectations and we enjoyed the variety of dishes, as well as the wine. Environmentally friendly compared to the lunch boxes! If we are going on a safari again I would definitely contact Soul of Tanzania!

Spectacular Soul of Tanzania adventure
5/5

For years I had dreamed of experiencing a safari in Tanzania. Never in my wildest dreams, however, did I ever imagine what an incredible experience it would turn out to be!

As soon as I booked with Soul of Tanzania, I knew I had chosen the best company out there! All emails and the many questions I had were always promptly answered by Iris, Miguel, Francis or Rachel. The vehicles were top of the line very well maintained, clean and comfortable. Thanks to Ben, who was our fantastic guide, we always started each morning with spotless windows (which provided excellent viewing throughout the day) and a full refrigerator on board. Ben served fabulous lunches...not only hot and delicious, but served using real plates, silverware, and goblets for the chilled wine no matter where our lunch spot may be. (Yes, you heard that right...we enjoyed chilled wine in silver goblets!) We were often the envy of many who passed by our table. It was an unbelievable experience.

Now, let's talk a little more about our man Ben! He was one of the most amazing parts of our entire trip. He blended into our group like family. He never failed to go the extra mile for us. He was funny, enthusiastic, informative, and made the most amazing coffee imaginable. Even those in our party who were not coffee drinkers suddenly could not get enough of Ben's creation! He not only made sure we had the best views when we came across animals, but he was also very willing to share information and sightings with others guides and their clients as we passed along the way.

I truly can't imagine having a more spectacular Tanzanian adventure than the one I experienced with Soul of Tanzania. It was just perfect. So if you are searching for a company that will provide an unforgettable experience, look no further. Soul of Tanzania is the company for you!
