Our heroes!
We’d originally booked with another company for our safari in August— huge mistake as they canceled on us less than 2 weeks from the start of our trip.
After frantically trying to reschedule our safari, Antony and Tazama came to the rescue! Prices are fair and Antony was very responsive, working with camps to try and find availability in peak season at such short notice. Upon arrival, Antony met with us personally to help ensure we felt comfortable with our itinerary.
Our Kenya guide Tom was phenomenal— we can’t say enough! He was always on the lookout for unique opportunities and provided us with so many great views and experiences. Other guests at camps were jealous of all we saw.

Quick mobilization and excellent game drive!
As someone always planning things on the last minute, I was pleasantly surprised to having been able to book this amazing safari the day before we departed. Antony was attentive throughout the booking process, both through e-mail and Whatsapp, and received us in person both at departure as of arrival. The safari itself was carried out by James who was a fantastic driver and guide that got to show us so many animals and a wonderful time! All while being patient with us often being late or asking to see more and more. An unforgettable experience and I certainly recommend Tazama for a good time!

Unforgettable Safari, Great People & Experience
From end to end the entire safari experience was great -- communication, pickup, payment, all was smooth. Antony, the company's owner, managed communication throughout and was super responsive and Tony, our guide, could not have been better. We saw so many incredible animals and learned so much about the Maasai Mara, and Kenya. I highly recommend Tazama to anyone looking for a safari option.

Super Awesome Safari Company
We had a fantastic time right from the get go. Antony was very responsive and ensured that the whole process was smooth. Do you ever sleep Antony? :)
Then Charlie took over and it was a fun ride through and through. Charlie is a wildlife magnet. He is a Maasai and has scars to show! We saw all the wildlife we ever wanted to see. It was simply superb. Charlie was very engaging and told us a lot about wildlife and the Maasai way of living. He arranged a trip to a Maasai village and we could see the ascetic way of life.
We have an eight year old and she enjoyed the whole thing. So much so that she did not want to come back home! :) Charlie was extremely flexible with the schedule, which made our lives easier with a little child.
The hotels were clean and comfortable. The food was great. The transfers were on time. We did not have any inconvenience.
Special thanks to Ester for all the seamless transfers and a trip to Utamaduni.
All in all, charming Charlie, efficient Antony, and friendly Ester made the vacation of a lifetime possible!

It was a great safari experience, full of activities and with super nice service
From the beginning Tazama tour operation was very professional, answering timely on our questions/emails. They arrived on the first day on agreed time and our adventure started. We were on 5 day private safari in mini-van with a tour guide Josh. Everything was done according to the plan plus extra. The selected lodges were very comfortable, with good food and service. Josh is very knowledgeable and skilled, you can see his passion for work. He drove us through road shortcuts so that we could arrive faster and have more activities than planned.
We were in Aberdare, Nakuru, Naivasha and Masai Mara. We saw all animals, including big 5 and larger herds. We were very satisfied and happy with our choice of tour operator. WIthout a doubt we can recommend the company to everyone.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience
My boyfriend and I did a 7 day tour with Tazama through Samburu, Lake Nakuru, and Masai Mara. It was the perfect way to see every animal on our list and see a diversity of ecosystems. Antony was so prompt and professional with booking everything. Steven, our guide, was sooo respectful of park rules and the animals, which was really important to us. He was smart, funny, flexible, and made sure the trip went as smoothly as possible (we didn't have any hiccups)! The lodges we stayed at were some of the nicest we've ever been to. It was a perfect trip and we can't thank Tazama, Antony, or Steven enough!

Kenya Honeymoon 2019
My Wife and I booked through Tazama Africa Holidays for our Honeymoon in August 2019 and couldn’t be happier. Antony was incredibly helpful throughout the quote/payment process and always answered all my emails straight away which was incredibly reassuring when booking something so important from the other-side of the world! He was happy to change some of the finer details of our booking to meet our requirements and booked our hotels prior to us paying to ensure we got the rooms we wanted which was very trusting.
Our Safari was 7 days as follows; Pick up Nairobi - 2 days Amboseli (Kibo Safari Camp), 1 day Lake Naivasha (Sopa), 3 days Masai Mara (Sopa) and 1 day Lake Nakuru then drop off in Nairobi.
Our guide for the week was Josh who we couldn’t speak more highly of! He looked after us so well. Seeing him waiting for us every morning by the van with big smile ready for an action packed day made us feel safe and excited for the days ahead! His knowledge of the parks, roads and of course wildlife was second to none and without him I think we’d have been lucky to see what we did!
We experienced multiple encounters with all the big five, witnessed Lion, Cheetah and Crocodile kills and a wildebeest river crossing in the Mara.
I honestly think and from speaking to other guests at the Lodges this was down to Josh being such a great guide and on the ball because we definitely saw most than other guests.
Lake Naivasha was beautiful and we had a great boat trip getting up close with Hippo’s but if you’re short on time i’d consider spending this day on one of the other game reserves instead. It’s not a park so you won’t see the big 5 here. We loved it - with zebra coming onto our patio at night it was a incredible memory, but I can imagine those on a shorter trip might want to spend the time in search of the more elusive wildlife. Not a negative at all, just something for people reading this and planning maybe to consider!!
All in all, I couldn’t speak more highly of Tazama and our guide Josh. We have the most amazing memories from an extra special holiday which will last us a lifetime!
My wife and I even commented in the morning after we left that it was a shame Josh wasn’t waiting for us in the morning!!

Incredible safari
We had a fantastic holiday in Kenya, one of our best so far. Anthony from Tazama Africa Holidays, organized a 3 days/2 nights safari which went perfectly smoothly. Before we arrived in Kenya, he was quick to reply to any of our inquiries and he also provided tips on the organization of the trip. Once in Kenya, we decided to stay a couple of days in Nairobi to recover from the jet lag and the long haul to be fully rested before the safari. On the first day of the safari, early in the morning, Anthony picked us up from our hotel and drove us to the airport to take a flight to the Maasai Mara and he also took care of us when we were back in Nairobi, he was always punctual.
In the Maasai Mara reserve, we were greeted on the airstrip by Charles, our Maasai guide. Charles was a great guide, excellent at tracking animals. He was also knowledgeable about the wildlife and it was a pleasure to hear him explain some fun facts about animals that we can now share on our turn with our friend and family. He was driving us in an open sided jeep (as well as the roof) which was ideal to comfortably observe the scenery while driving and take pictures from different angles.
During the safari, we stayed at the Maasai Mara Sopa which is a lovely lodge at the entrance of the reserve. We were very pleased with the accommodation, it was cute and clean, and the staff was extremely kind. Initially, we’d prefer to stay in a tented camp but we booked our trip too late, so we’d advice to book as early as possible if you look for that type of experience (fyi, we booked in March for a safari in July).
